I've been here a few times whenever my travels take me to Bastrop. They've got a prime location overlooking the river, which makes for a gorgeous outdoor setting when weather permits. I would say the menu ranges from 3-4 stars. The pizzas and sandwiches are generally pretty good, and I love that they have a selection of not-so-common toppings, such as a pizzas topped with prosciutto, fig and arugula or summer squash. If you order a pizza, note that you will likely wait quite a bit longer than perhaps you are prepared for. The waitstaff are friendly, though! The organization at the hostess stand speaks for itself. Unsure of how this place is operating. We were even on the waitlist, got alerted and checked in at the stand, and we were not seated by the host. The host sat others. The host ignored my party, even after we kindly stopped him to re-address the issue. We left to go somewhere else. So first off: my husbands chicken was amazing he said and his pizza was good although only cut into 4 pieces and doughy as well. Husband said it wasn't busy upstairs. Took 25 minutes to make this. Not sure what's going on because this was not the norm. My pizza was completely almost raw. It was wet in the box. I will have to recook it to finish it. Then the Brussel sprouts were supposed to have hot honey on them, but they were just burned and salty. This is the second time that there has been a problem with our food. Host was to much he seem like he was trying to hard. It's Friday night 7pm it's normal for any restaurant to be busy. He told his that would have to wait the servers have to take breaks in between tables lol gotcha. 20min wait which wasn't bad for 2 didn't mind the wait. But while waiting the host look like he was training his co worker and you can tell he wasn't having the patience with her. He told her to take us to the table for some reason she told us to scan the QR code with out phone very loud like in robot Monotone voice lol it was odd. We took the recommendation to visit Neighbor's from yelp because we had our dog Nola with us. Matt and the other servers were great. Brought us ice water and a bowl for Nola. Even though we were outside in the heat we had a nice breeze and a view of the river. The pizza was wonderful. And we loved trying out a few flights each of the beer on tap. We did make sure to save room for the cobbler - the flavor changes - today it was peach cobbler with locally made ice cream. Yum! Service, food, drinks, and atmosphere are the bomb. This is a great go-to in Bastrop. Their pizza and salads are fresh and delicious!

Best pizza in town, plus the outside area is really cool! There's a live music area, animal friendly, and the porch overlooks the Colorado river. They also have their own brewery and have daily specials! I'm not a big fan of the other menu options (I've tried the wings, a couple of appetizers, and salads- all of which I didn't like), but the pizza is hands down the best! read more

If you're driving on Highway 71 and need a place to stop for food or a nice break, you must try Neighbor's Kitchen and Yard! This restaurant has a large amount of indoor and outdoor (covered) seating. It faces the River which allows you to feel like you're on vacation! There is a stage in the grass area not too far from the restaurant so you can check the schedule and plan to have dinner while listening to live music. Their food is amazing for a great price too. We came here on a Sunday around noon. There was about a 30min wait for a table. We got a picnic table outside per our request. We ordered gluten free pizza (getting figgy with it) but with no meat. My husband got a personal pizza and we got hummus. Everything tasted delicious! The wait for the food was long as well, like 30mins. The property is beautiful. Stopped in for lunch. Had looked at places to eat while staying in the area and this place hit my fancy. The area is nice rustic shopping and small shops around. First we started with the Black Eyed Hummus, some thing I had never had, not the hummus part but out of black eyed peas. It was good to say the least. It had good flavor and a little spicy to it. We were in town from Indiana and really found a gem with Neighbors. I may get the waitress's name wrong, but I believe it was Misty. She was awesome. We were in Bastrop to see Clue! The Musical but decided to sight see and eat first just in case. This place was a little hidden away but a friend of my wife's had suggested it, My wife got a cider/Jack Daniels drink of some kind made for the season and she loved it as she loves each of the things by themselves. She got a sandwich or a wrap, we were all pretty hungry. We had a friend with us who also seemed to enjoy the place. I got the Bucket of Grease personal pizza which is all the meats. Sausage, Pep, Bacon, Can Bacon, Hamburger I think. It was very good but a bit messy. The people are friendly and the patio area if you enjoy sitting outside or watching over a body of water is huge and amazing, we choose to sit inside but many people went with the outside patio option. Seems very popular overall. This place was a nice stop and I am glad we tried it, the food was surprisingly good, a little pricier then we figured but not outrageous. Everyone liked their meals. Although the wait for food is LONG, we keep coming back when we are in town and I am constantly chasing a pizza as good as this. The crust is incredible and I don't know how they do it. I get the fancy free without cheese (thanks dairy allergy...) and my husband gets the pepperoni or the meat lovers (actual name unknown) every time because it is SO good. They have a closed off area overlooking the outside and an outside porch with benches. The waitress was nice, but service was very slow. We got our appetizer, the Comeback dip, quite fast. It was ok, kind of tasted like an upgraded version of nachos. I understand it can get busy on a Friday night, but we waited at least 30 minutes to get our personal 10" El Camino pizza and grilled cheese for the kids. I have a friend that is moving to Bastrop, so we are trying out some of the local restaurants. I am so glad that we stumbled on this gem! This place is buried on the river with several other nifty little shops. They have a huge patio area that overlooks the water and is perfect for a beautiful Texas day. They also have a small waiting area that surrounds a fire pit. The pizza was absolutely delicious!! We also had the pretzel bites as an appetizer, and we were not disappointed by this choice. Second time trying neighbors and it was again, a hit. The staff was more than accommodating with our large group. The pizza rolls were great, but the dipping sause was too acidic for my taste. Inconsiderate. This is my first bad review on Yelp after 10 years being on here. If you're not a local, stay away. Would give a zero or negative if I could. Update: I was a member of a party that waited over an hour for our food. I wrote this review around the 1-hour marker. Owner is aware of the issue and we did get comps on some of the item by the manager. During the wait, I observed 3-4 groups of roughly 4-6 people per group get seated well after, get their food and subsequently leave. Groups appeared local. In addition, our pizzas were room-temp when finally served and slightly undercooked - the crusts were chewy in a bad way. I'll bump to 2 stars as owner gave a sincere apology to my cousin. read more
