The works! Basil and matcha soft serve swirl with sesame brittle
    Fionna L.

This is the most welcoming, comfortable and delicious restaurant I've been to in a long time. As others have noted, the interior is bright and the staff is very kind and helpful. There are even 3 ways to order: at the counter on the tablet, on the QR code at the seats, or asking the staff directly. The DD Mau salad may have been the most delicious salad I've ever had. The greens were fresh, not bitter at all, and the ingredients were so flavorful. The textures combined with the sauce made for a very complex, umami taste and mouthfeel with a slightly spicy kick. Wow! So wonderful that it's a local collaboration too. We also got The Works, a generous swirl of basil and matcha soft serve with shards of sesame peanut brittle. My friend liked it a lot and I thought it was very interesting. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on their menu and there's also the option to make your own salad. Lastly, you can sign up for tours of their hydroponic farm (attached to the restaurant), which are held on weekends 1-2pm. You'll know where to find me on Saturday...

I'm so satisfied! Neon Greens is in The Grove, and from the outside you'd never guess how cool it is inside. You walk into this older building and it just opens up into this bright, clean, almost energizing space . I went with the Umami Crunch with tofu and... yeah, this is the kind of place that makes you realize how rare a really good salad is. Like, when do you ever eat a salad and think, "the lettuce is incredible"? That happened here. Everything tasted fresh in a way that's hard to explain unless you've had it. And then you find out why--they literally have a hydroponic farm attached. Not just for show either... they do tours, and a lot of what you're eating is coming straight from there. It makes the whole experience feel different in the best way. The portions are huge, super filling, and still somehow feel light and clean. I also grabbed a local blue spirulina kombucha that ended up being one of the best I've had. If you keep wandering toward the back, it turns into this almost maze-like space, and on weekends they do a pop-up called Biscuit Town with breakfast items (including vegan options). It just keeps going. Honestly, I walked in craving a REALLY good salad and left wondering why it's so hard to find places like this. This is one of those spots you go to once and immediately know you'll be back.

After attending an event I decided to go here for lunch. I have been wanting to try it for some time now. It took a minute to go over all of the various menu options. It's nice to see all of the fresh ingredients available-mostly grown onsite. It can't get any fresher than that. The service was great. They are ready to help explain anything on the menu. It's a cute place, there's street parking available. I decided on the Thai BBQ which is a popular item. I also got the chili crisp cheese bread. My salad was huge and can easily be shared with another person. It was so fresh and delicious. The cheese bread was good, would have been much better if it was served hot and gooey. I'm glad I stopped in and really enjoyed my lunch. Go try it for yourself.

I was definitely skeptical about trying a salad place for lunch, but Neon Greens completely changed my mind! The salad was so good, incredibly filling, and the portion was huge, even had leftovers. I also loved that you can customize anything on the menu or build your own salad, so there are tons of options for everyone. It was really interesting learning that they grow a large portion of their produce right onsite. Fresh, delicious, and definitely worth a visit!

I've driven by here so many times and I finally made it in. There is only street parking. It is a very welcoming space with an open concept. There's seating inside in the main dinjng area, out in the back under a covered area and also outside in the front on an upper level deck. The staff is phenomenal! They made me feel welcome, they took time to explain menu items and seemed proud of the products offered. The lettuce is grown on site. I ordered the seasonal sweet potato soup and so did my dining companion, but her presentation looked different like it had some cream on top. I chose to create my own salad, and I absolutely loved all of the unique choices to do so. I had the hardest choice picking one of their house made salad dressings. There were so many choices so I picked two. It was one of the best tasting salads i've ever had.

It was exactly what I needed for the day. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The salad itself is huge, I would recommend splitting it and take some home (which I did). The flavors are all super yummy. I tried the Thai BBQ before and it was good but pretty tangy. Recently, I tried the elote salad which was pretty similar but the corn was the perfect touch. It's a perfect spot to grab a quick lunch, if you're in the area! Parking can be tricky unless you're lucky

One word....YUM!! This was my first visit to Neon Greens and I will be back! First, the greens are grown on site hydroponically...it doesn't get any fresher than that!! Then the combinations and toppings are equally fresh and tasty. Highly recommend. The staff was friendly and happy to help a novice at their restaurant. The ambience's is casual and welcoming

Pleasant service is always a plus upon entering an establishment. Rarity these days so I've come to appreciate it these days. I digress... Display case was clean; loved that! Menu large & in charge; detailed...loved that too! Fresh ingredients, deliciously paired serving with greens, grains and the perfect amount of sauce or sauce-less (whichever floats your boat). I thoroughly enjoyed the shroom shawarma is avocado. Super filling; I enjoyed half and took the remainder home for dinner. Of course a pineapple palo santo kombucha was the appropriate beverage to finish off my meal. Absolutely divine every time. Oh, the vegan peanut butter cookie was tasty as well...nice gluten free treat to satiate a sweet tooth. ~C.A.

I consistently enjoy Neon Greens, regardless of what I order. It is a casual spot with a cool, clean aesthetic that offers both regular menu items, a build-your-own section, and a rotating menu of seasonal items. Employees behind the counter are friendly and ask questions to ensure your salad is built to your liking. On my most recent visit I ordered the miso-maple salad. This is (sadly) seasonal and was fresh, cozy, and rich!

Not my first time dining here; impressed by the quality consistency! The maple miso salad is a delish mix of colors and textures. We split it and it was plenty for us two. We added on 3 things: 1 marinated tofu chunks (Not crazy for this. Pretty mushy raw and not terribly flavorful either. ) 2 the bread rolls were a bit oddly soft/mushy but flavor was fine. A fave destination for us health minded vegetarians!

I have yet to make it to Neon Greens for their Neon Greens food but was able to stop in this morning for their new Biscuit Town permanent pop up. Beautiful, bright space! A seating area when you walk in with tables and window counter seating. We didn't sit there but the view of the changing trees was beautiful out the window. Walk up the to the counter to order, our order was taken by a friendly and upbeat person, the menu gave all the options right there. the server was efficient and asked questions to make sure our order was correct, we paid and chose a seat. Our food was brought out quickly on a tray, there was a counter with a composting area that also had napkins and utensils. The biscuit sandwich was huge! The Sneaky Biscuit. I asked for no cheese since I am a cheese weirdo and don't like it mixed with eggs, meat, or potatoes! So, biscuit, bacon, egg, and smoked citrus honey. Very good, I am also a weirdo about butter and I was afraid I wouldn't like the biscuit because of it, but it wasn't overpowering and I really enjoyed it. For my first time, I opted for the Plain Jane hash brown, so thin and crispy! I will be more adventurous next time and choose the Unami option. As I was composting our dishes, one of the employees chatted with me about the option of touring the farm and he pointed it out, I had thought it was part of outdoor seating, so cool that it is where they grow the greens. I remembered reading something about it after he mentioned it. I admitted I hadn't been there for their non breakfast options and he got me a menu and encouraged me to come back. He might have been an owner, and he was super nice, either way. Hope to be back soon!

I don't know why you'd spend $20 for a salad, but Neon Greens is worth it. I ordered the Five Spice Barbecue Bowl, a collaboration with Salt + Smoke, a local BBQ spot in St. Louis. Since I'm not a fan of quinoa, I swapped out the three-grain mix for all lettuce, and my salad came with mizuna, shredded cabbage, roasted broccoli, pickled red onions, garlicky cucumbers, Salt + Smoke's signature pulled pork, crispy garlic, chopped peanuts, and a charred scallion green goddess dressing. What makes Neon Greens unique is their hydroponic farm connected to the restaurant, where they grow their own lettuce. The ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and the space itself is welcoming, bright, modern, and minimalist. They also prioritize composting and recycling, which makes the experience healthy and sustainable too.

It definitely lives up to the hype in terms of popularity--the place was packed even at 10:30 PM, but the line moved quickly thanks to their efficient service. The concept is simple: the custard starts with a vanilla base, and you can customize it with a variety of toppings. They also offer a few other flavor options, so there's plenty to choose from. We tried a couple of different custards, and while they were good, I honestly didn't find them as exceptional as I expected given all the buzz. The flavors were enjoyable, but I felt they were a bit overpriced for what you get compared to other frozen dessert shops. One thing that surprised me was how quickly the custard started to melt, even before I had eaten much of it. Overall, it's worth trying if you're visiting St. Louis since it's such an iconic local spot, but for me, it didn't quite live up to the hype. It may be a beloved hometown favorite, but I'm not sure it's a must-visit destination for everyone.

Unfortunately, when I came in on my lunch break, they didn't have any out. When I asked, I was told they only had mango and to come back Saturday for more. I explained that I don't live nearby, which is why I called ahead. They gave me two mango pastries from the back, but they seemed to have come straight from the freezer or fridge they were extremely hard and difficult to eat. The flavor itself (coconut-infused white chocolate with a subtle mango) was okay, but the texture made it disappointing. If you live nearby, I'd suggest pre-ordering to make sure you actually get what you came for. If you're driving a distance, I wouldn't rely on calling ahead since I was told they "always have plenty," but that wasn't the case. On top of that, their AC was out, so the door was open with a large fan going, and there were flies inside. Advertisements online talked about "rolling out the red carpet" for mom, including receiving a glass of champagne, a hand-selected personal gift from the team, and a special Art Deco Goddess coloring sheet for the kids. However, our Mother's Day experience was not special at all. I went with my husband, 2 young kids, and my mother. When the waitress greeted us, she wasn't very friendly and didn't even say Happy Mother's Day when there was 2 mothers at the table. She didn't mention anything about the free champagne...we had to ask for it. We did not receive a hand-selected personal gift. There was also no special coloring sheet for the kids - we were just coloring on the kids menu. Nothing about our experience was special. Next year, I will pick somewhere else to go for Mother's Day. I felt more like a burden here than someone to be celebrated. The food was still decent. I got the pesto chicken sandwich with the bird seed salad. The bird seed salad was the star. Loved the poppyseed vinaigrette dressing and the bruleed apple slice (never seen that before - how unique and cool!). The pesto sandwich was a bit difficult to eat - while the chicken was moist, the bread was very crusty and dry which made the overall sandwich very dry. It was kinda hard to get through. I ended up taking it home and reheating it in the microwave and it was a little better after doing that because it allowed the pesto to soak into the bread and moisten it up a bit. I ordered a scoop of Zanzibar chocolate ice cream with hot fudge and this was truly amazing. The kids menu could definitely use some work - seems more like an after thought. It isn't even posted online to view in advance. I can't remember all the choices, but it was limited. I remember 2 different peanut butter sandwiches available, Mac and cheese, and a "pizza" on focaccia type bread. I put pizza in quotes because most kids I know are picky and this isn't a traditional pizza so we couldn't order this because our kids probably wouldnt eat it especially if the bread on the pizza was as dry and crusty as it was on my pesto sandwich. We ended up ordering the Mac and cheese, which was actually really good and the kids liked it. Just wish there were more options. What was really disappointing though is they served apple slices on the plate with the core still in it...serving apple core to a child is a safety hazard and just plain lazy.
