We came for Happy hour . They had a choice of two Dim dim baskets and several noodle & Rice dishes . We chose the Singapore curry rice vermicelli ... it was tasty and not better or worse than others I have had There was also a bbq pork or chicken rice happy hour special too in addition to a full Dim sum menu It was nice to have white table cloth and choice of free flo tea . There was a giant screen tv on the wall to catch your favorite programs . Nice window views of the plaza and sky train dt

Came here on Saturday morning for dim sum. The restaurant was quite empty which I found surprising. Neptune palace is more spacious than other Chinese restaurants I've been to. Service is better than other dim sum places which is also reflected in the higher prices. Their eggplant with shrimp paste was delicious and is a must order! We were a table of 2 but a 20% gratuity was automatically applied for some reason. We called to complain and they are willing to refund us for it but we do need to go back. Hence, make sure to check how much you were charged before you leave.

At prime time (weekend-Saturday), Neptune in Brentwood Mall is virtually dead. Only 3 tables out of 40 are occupied. What could be the problem? For starters, ambience is typical of all other Neptunes- the China bizaze. Large LCD screen and crass chandeliers. Comfortable but tacky. Food, is a tad better than other dimsum places. Mind you I am having runs atm. Due to low turnover rate, likely could have been served expired items. Service is typical Chinese- super bare minimum. If you love it in your partners then you'll love it here. (sarcasm). Lastly price. This I believe is the nail on the coffin. Price here per item is from 12$/ each. Average 18-25$. This is 30% markup of other Neptunes. Why? Oh they got a recommendation somewhere. Overall. meh. Won't likely to be back.

This is supposedly a michelin recommended place but it didn't feel like it at all. They only have the nice decor. The dishes were chipped, the food came out slow, they forgot a dish, and the food was not good. We ordered the suckling pig small plate which is $60 for 10 pieces. They claim it is 1/6 of a pig. There was so much liquid under the meat. The roasted skin was ok. The sauce was not right. We tried their specialty which was the truffle fried chicken. This dish just feels like a gimmick since the sauce makes the fried chicken skin soggy. I rather have the normal cold truffle chicken salad. Nothing really special about the dish and not much truffle taste. The deep fried squid was over cooked so the meat was too soft. The batter and the taste of the salt/pepper was good though. We also ordered a jellyfish appetizer which should have come first but it never came. We asked the server and they said they accidentally served it to another table. That doesn't even make any sense. We asked to cancel it and they said they have to check the kitchen to see whether it's been made. This is a trick for them to quickly make it and have you wait and still pay for it. We put our foot down and said we don't want it and to take it off the bill. If it didn't come as an appetizer then clearly you didnt make it. Please admit to your mistakes. In the middle of our dinner, the server passed out a pamphlet of their new sister restaurant. It was very weird and the pamphlet looked like it was handled a lot with a lot of creases. It was not a good way to promote their new place. I've never see such a high class looking restaurant with servers behaving this way and with food that isn't done well.

Michelen Guide recognized and other local dining lists vs. mediocre Yelp reviews. Our skeptical verdict ~ Neptune was delish from beginning to end. Located in a revived shopping district, the 2nd floor dining was just elevated enough to enjoy a window view. Well maintained furnishings, bright & white linens for a clean atmosphere. Arguably the largest TV screen ever seen in a dim sum restaurant where the football game could be seen comfortably from any table. From the start, service was top notch. Professional & poised at all times, well dressed gave dining a nice touch. Dim Sum & Menu ~ delishush! The quality was definitely elevated, clean and juicy flavor but not oily, larger than normal portions. Our only regret might be we finished an hour and half lunch feast right when the midday Happy Hour started 2:30-4:30pm and missed the 15% off.

Classic dim sum atmosphere with the large round tables Dim sum was overpriced for what you got. There are other dim sum spots with bigger portions, tastier dishes and for half the price in Vancouver. My friend and I ordered 4 dishes and we paid $90 for 2 people. I don't think I'll be coming here again.

There are a few Neptune Palace in Vancouver and this one is in the new Brentwood neighborhood. There are so many dim sum choices but we opt for the familiar and usual. We immediately noticed the ingredients and flavors are better than most we found in NYC. Service was prompt and friendly. Our teapots were regularly checked and refilled with hot water. The space is airy and bright but not a huge space. So one must call ahead to reserve a table or be prepared to wait for some time during busy lunch hour. A great lunch place that I would visit again.

Neptune Palace in Burnaby is another great option, especially if you're looking for dim sum. Located on the second floor of a mall, it's convenient and has ample parking. Their dim sum portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, too. The dessert options are particularly fun, with creative purse shapes and animal designs. The interior is clean and spacious, making it a fun dining experience for the kids. Service was okay, we usually pay around $100-125 before tipping.

Ok, the food was really really good. But damn, their portions were so jumbo. It was like each piece was on steroids! But then you look at how much it cost.. and you kinda feel justified.. because the price is on steroids too. Haha Dimsum in Greater Vancouver is already on a different level. And I really enjoy it. So every time I go, I tend to go a little bit overboard as I would like to try a little bit of everything. First I try to counter this by going in large groups.... But the portions here still was too grand. We packed a bunch of leftovers.. and I'm not even mad about it. Variety! The type of dimsum you get here is just a little bit more special than the usual. Just a bit of pizazz and wow is added to each dish. I'm not only speaking of looks, but of taste as well. But because there was such a unique variety... sigh again, it added to the reason why I over ordered. I kinda took a star away due to me question why the server didn't question my sanity when I ordered as much as I did.

Nestled in the heart of the Amazing Brentwood, I am not surprised this place asks for a premium for their dim sum with a $2 tea charge per person and a credit card surcharge. Some of their dim sum sounded cute and innovative but was it really worthy of its Michelin recommendation? I would say the dim sum was mediocre. I really liked the Wagyu Beef pastries, the pastry was very light and buttery. It is the best bbq pork pastry type thing I've had at dim sum. I didn't try the while eggplant but it came recommended and my parents enjoyed that. The bbq duck noodle in soup was flavourful. The abalone "cotton" chicken was mediocre. An extra star for server Eric and was so kind and prompt. The rest of the servers were very courteous as well.

Amazing food and top-notch service! The staff made us feel right at home, and every dish we tried was cooked to perfection. A wonderful place to enjoy a meal with friends or family!

The Neptune group of restaurants has numerous high end Chinese seafood locations across the lower mainland and this is the burnaby setting upstairs Good dim sum fare in an upscale setting in the new Amazing Brentwood. The portions were good and flavourful however we left very thirsty - a possible indication of generous MSG use The service was excellent and attentive staff The venue being new was very clean. The bid screen TV system was glitchy and distracting There are numerous high quality dim sum, places to compete in this upscale market, and admittedly other Neptune locations that high would frequent over this site There is typically a tea charge as well as a 2% credit card service fee as you are asked if you wish to pay by cash or credit. I'm not a fan of this type of optioning as most establishments build a credit card fee into the menu prices however, this model seems to encourage cash payments.

Michelin recommended but there was nothing exceptional about the place. Service was standard but nothing above and beyond. Inside the Brentwood Mall Plaza near the fountain. Just go up the side door and take the elevator or stairs. They share the same entrance way as Ajishou. Lots of glass windows to look out and let in natural light which was nice. Nothing out of the ordinary with atmosphere Food was expensive and honestly not worth it in my opinion. The high price point doesn't even translate to waiving transaction fees for using Visa or MasterCard. Apparently AMEX and Interact is not subject to an extra 2% like Visa and MC are. So either come with Cash, Amex or interac unless you like paying an extra 2% just for paying for a meal. Tip & Service extra! Please let customers know about this before they start ordering! Tea Charge /Sauce Charge is about $2 per person. To go container costs $1! Tried a few of their dimsum items and just subpar. Truffle Shao Mai Dumplings - these were "larger" than your usual dumplings and comes in a order of 5 pieces. Their plating could use some work. The pieces were stuck together because their serving vessel is too small. A bit on the dry side and truffle taste not that prominent. Pan Fried Daikon Radish Cake - Not crispy enough on the outer edges and consistency not consistent. Bits were almost cost and lumpy tasting? Just off! Scraped Rice Rolls With Beef & Leeks - Salty/Oily and honestly cold. Common trend with most dishes was that it came borderline cold. Roast Pork Belly - Crisp on this was nice. Though the pieces were just small and quite dry. Overall disappointed with the meal, partially because of Michelin Star recommended and definitely the cost to quality ratio. For the price point, expected so much more on every aspect of the experience. Mother was ok with the food so it was saved from being a 2 star for me.

They offer a wide variety of Shanghai-style dim sum, including dumplings, wontons, rice cake, several meat noodle soups, and some combo rice dishes. I ordered the Sichuan Style beef noodle soup, and it was surprisingly delicious and spicy -- the broth was flavorful, and the beef was incredibly tender. Even though it's just a small food court stall, the quality of the dishes makes it worth a visit. If you're already exploring Crystal Mall or craving some quick and tasty Shanghai-style snacks, this place is a solid choice.

Big size and very delicious. I'd ask for extra dipping sauce (or the chill oil if you like spicy). These can get messy if you don't be careful. Take a small bite of the skin first and sip the soup inside before diving in. The soup is very hot, so I usually pour it onto a spoon and drink it from there. #13 is translated as "Steamed Mini Pork Buns" in English and Shanghai Xiaolongbao in Chinese on the menu, which is misleading. When I ordered it last time, it turned out to be the same buns as #14, just steamed instead of deep-fried. They're large and not mini at all like traditional XLB. Personally, I didn't enjoy them as much as the fried version and wouldn't order them again. They tend to stick together and aren't very to-go friendly. #14 is the star here, and it's absolutely worth coming back for.
