Proud to say i've found an affordable super good quality chinese restaurant that doesn't break the bank. We opted for one of the 10 course menus and modified the 2 crab with noodles and got the lotus wrapped live lobster and sticky rice instead .. which was the main reason i chose this place to begin with. Best idea ever! Everything was so fresh, portions were generously large and we were all so full, fed 8 people and had a bunch of leftovers. Baked tapioca dessert was so The fish maw crap soup was delicious .. not bland at all. I also normally don't like chinese mushrooms but these were super smooth and the stem didn't taste funky like some other places i've been to. Food is an absolute 10/10 here. This place gets super packed so best to make resos. I made resos 3 weeks in advance since i had a larger party. Ambiance was energetic with so many tables celebrating big birthdays or having large family meals with loved ones. I would say this place is just OK. It wasn't crowded like many reviews said, but overall I find the dim sum definitely way below the really good places, but honestly overall experience and food is not even as good as say the Pink Pearl, which at least has push carts. Some specifics: - I like that they have thousand layered cake. Many places don't. It's not bad, though nothing exceptional. - the Liu Sa Bao is just OK. - the pea sprouts (dou Miao) is below average. Very busy spot, overly crowded - would definitely recommend you to reserve a table - not even with reservations you will probably need to wait a bit. Street parking available, and a parking lot behind the business - also transit friendly, with bus stops nearby. If you get a corner table, it will kind of suck , it is very very cramped up and you might not really enjoy your meal because of it. Service was standard - they did the basics, nothing amazing but nothing wrong. Food wise - not bad / Peking duck was delicious , and the pork with sweet gourmet sauce i believe was also very tasty - just the right amount of sweetness to it. Golden Seafood is a local spot in the neighborhood where my family in Vancouver lives. They've been before, and honestly you can't really go wrong with a tried and true local place. Really wishing we had so much good canto food close to us in sf. The restaurant felt like a standard quaint little Chinese establishment, serving dim sum during the day and seafood in the evenings Overall, the dim sum quality was really, really good, and the portion sizes were shockingly generous. The ha gao and siu mai had really solid quality, and what stood out most was the portioning. I'm used to getting four pieces at most dim sum places, but here we got five! The steamed pork spareribs had tons of ribs, super shareable, and great for the table. The sticky rice was hearty and filling. The dry-fried beef rice noodles had tender beef and smoky chewy noodles! We ordered for four people, and it honestly could've fed six. For the price, I was genuinely impressed; super affordable for how much food we got. Service was excellent and attentive in a way that's really appreciated at dim sum. They came around regularly to refill tea, brought napkins without us having to ask, and when we requested scissors, they were quick to accommodate. Big plus: no extra charge for tea, which a lot of places do charge for. The only downside was the tea itself, it tasted a little stale, but between the value, the generosity, and the service, it didn't take away much from the experience. read more

We had a reservation for 12 of us on the Saturday after Christmas at noon and that was definitely needed. The place was very crowded, I could barely back up my chair without running into someone at a different table! Also, our table was set up for 10, and we ended up finding our own extra chairs. It was much emptier by the time we left around 2pm. Parking was not bad, we all found residential parking within a block or so. We got a lot of the standard dim sum dishes which were all fine, but here were the standouts (good and bad): * Shrimp Paste Eggplant - 4 stars. No one had heard of this dish before except the person who ordered it, and everyone was impressed. Fried ground shrimp goes surprisingly well with eggplant! * Salt & Pepper Fish Fillet - 4 stars. I was craving steamed fish and this place came highly recommended. We came in on a Sunday night and there was still a dozen tables full of families and aunty and uncles. Big parties recommended, but it was just the 2 of us tonight. We were lucky and got the last fish they had left. They showed us the catch before steaming it. It reminded me of home and it hit the spot. The sauce and plain white rice alone was what I was craving. We got their honey garlic spareribs too and it was sticky, sweet and crunchy from the batter underneath. Fish came out to $43.50 and another $30 for the spareribs. We had enough leftover for lunch the next day. Of course, they won't let you leave without a Chinese dessert (redbean soup and cookies tonight). Parking out back made it easy. I had a fantastic time here around lunar new year. The restaurant was packed, but the servers were making their way around the room quickly and efficiently. while visiting Vancouver, I really wanted some dim sum and found this place on yelp. And I'm really glad that it worked out well. Like mini mom and pop dim sum places it was a pretty crowded environment. But the spot is clean and well appointed. I over ordered in my normal style. Food was quite standard for Chinese banquet but a bit less flavorful than others we've had. On the plus side, less bloat from salt. The Peking duck was served in two ways--traditional wrapper and then in lettuce wrap. Both were solid. Otherwise the highlight was of course the Vancouver crab, which was done well. My go to Chinese restaurant if I want Peking Duck! They have a combo dinner set for Peking Duck where you just need to order 3 other dishes. Staff are very friendly and food comes out quick! The dish have the "wok hay" smell and flavour which I always enjoy because I don't taste it much in other restaurants anymore. Would recommend for dim sum and dinner in a heart beat. EATS: Crab Claw- or Chinese folks called it Yeung hai Kim, Maximum of 2 pieces per order, this alone will cost you almost $20, It will come to you with 2 adult big guy fist size fried balls with the crab claw sticking out that looks like it will attack you, but that serves as your handle to hold them and dip it with sauce....Inside the balls are crab, shrimp, squid meat paste, shrimp gum and seasoning..very delish, well for me anything fried and crispy is delish...anything safe and edible eat it.... Another dish I ordered was the House special chowmein, crispy noodles topped with seafoods, pork bbq, chicken and veggies, the usual way ...With the semi thick and hot sauce that make the noodle soft....hmmmmmm I called it chinese secret kitchen weapon because honestly that sauce gives life to the dish.... Huge serving in here this noddle can actually feeds 3 adults with a regular appetite...you know....For me the chow mein was really good and cooked the way i like it...the mushroom just melts in my mouth.... The restaurant itself is cramped and did not look particularly appetizing. But the food. I did NOT expect it to be as good as it was. There are a lot of excellent cantonese style restaurants in vancouver, and this one gave me the dingey vibe going into it. But i can definitely vouch for the food. Priced right, and no complaints. Seemed like a good spread of things we like. 1 crab - ginger and onion sauce - pretty good seafood fried rice - excellent beef with veg and mushrooms - the beef in particular was excellent fish maw soup - served warm and not hot for some reason but the soup itself was good. free range cold chicken - excellent free dessert - tapioca/taro soup - not my thing but its free so whatever. This place is only a few years old. There is a main dining area as well as a partitioned off side room. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food here is quite good. Special mention to the unusually large portions. The set menu for 4 easily fed 5 people, and everyone knows how much I eat. Quality is comparable to many other banquet style places around town. Great food, good service. Overall, great experience. We arrived around 10, got seated quickly for a party of 6. Our auntie ordered everything and she knew just what to order. Everything came out quickly. The food was very fresh and great flavor, very delicious. We ordered so much I cannot list it all. Fancy? Nah. But delicious! Heck, yeah! And very reasonably priced, too. I recently joined a MeetUp group of women and they had dim sum here a month ago. They liked it so much, they organized a second visit to this restaurant and I joined them. The lady who organized the event is Chinese and speaks Mandarin, so she did all the ordering of all the many dishes (she and the servers all spoke in Mandarin so I had no idea what they were ordering or saying). All I know is, wow, we got a TON of food, and it all came promptly and it all was fantastic! Some of the dishes I recognized and tried: the squid (probably my favorite dish. Like calamari but thicker. SO good); spring rolls (thinner and more delicate than the usual spring rolls I've seen. Also delicious); lobster with sticky rice (excellent. FYI you need a fork to get the lobster meat out of the shells. Don't bother trying to do so with your chopsticks, as I did!); sautéed pea pods (we all loved this! Very much like spinach but better, with garlic); shrimp dumplings and beef dumplings (I tried the shrimp and it was great); and, three or four other dishes that I did not try due to their gelatinous textures (one was a tendon dish of sorts, one was mushroom based, and I don't recall the third). There probably were other dishes too that I forget. And we all had an egg tart for dessert. These were perfect: the pastry was flaky and fresh and light, and the tart filling was perfectly sweet but not too sweet. Really great. For all the food and tea that we had - and it was a TON of food, - the price per person, including tax and tip (and a generous tip too) was $22. I thought that was very reasonable for so much food. Ordinary Chinese Restaurant, but the girls serving us were truly extraordinary as got us whatever we wanted as quickly as they could. Very busy over lunch, but food constantly came out and it was very hot and tasty. We loved the beef Tendon and chicken feet. They don't have the best ingredients but it's a great place to get by for a quick dim sum fix or Chinese dinner for a large group for a good price. I recently came here with family to celebrate Chinese new year and they were packed on a monday night before Chinese new year. But it was great they still managed to serve quickly with all the tables!
