This is the place to go if you have a craving for seafood. In fact, if you know real Chinese style food, you this is the place to go. Everything was delicious and flavored correctly. Nothing was oily. Staff as usual were incredibly friendly. Despite having a wedding, everything was timely. I have been to this place many times over the years with my family and it never disappoints.

One of my go to places for dimsum. Food is always cooked fresh to order. The owners are always very friendly and courteous (can't say that for their manager Mr cranky-puss) I gave a few favourites, their portions are generous. Restaurant is clean. Nothing super fancy. I prefer clean over fancy any day!!

I was not impressed with the food at this restaurant and it wasn't my first choice to eat here. But there were some dishes that were passable and OK, like the Egg Tarts, Chicken Feet, Stir-Fried Rice Noodle Rolls, Siu Mai, and Shrimp Rice Noodle Rolls. The salt & pepper tofu had neither salt or pepper. It was very bland. You might as well have just ate the tofu without it being fried. The congee was very thick as if they added too much stuff in it, to the point where everything was congealing. It was more everything else than congee in each bite. The Herbal Chicken Feet Soup was disappointing and not as herbal tasting as you'd think (probably needed more ingredients or time to cook). It felt like you were drinking plain water. I suppose if you only eat the classic dim sum items, this restaurant would be 5-stars. We would have a problem if they messed up the classics. However, if you decide to venture off the classic items, you may end up being sorely disappointed. (P.S. I'm not trying to be mean or harsh, but my dad is a Cantonese chef who has worked in many restaurants in Seattle. My family would eat dim sum every weekend as well and we'd have family dinners at restaurants multiple times per month. So I grew with a specific palette for dim sum and stir fry dishes. I know what it tastes like and have higher expectations for flavors. I do not eat at Panda Express. I would eat at Top Cantonese Cuisine Restaurant before I did that).

We have passed this restaurant many times, we needed to find a substitute restaurant for dinner. Decided to try Top Cantonese restaurant. As it was late, we were the only few people in the restaurant. Good selection of menu with typical Cantonese cuisine. A little pricey however the quality & the freshness of the food is there. You get what you paid for. We ordered several dishes for dinner & all the dishes were executed very well. I will definitely come back again, service was good. I forgot to mention they even served complimentary peanuts!

I haven't been to this restaurant for 30+ years. My grandfather used to live 5 blocks away and walked here for dim sum every morning. He loved to order a good pot of tea, bought newspaper and spend a good part of the day reading the newspaper and having a couple dim sum dishes. He did that every day until he passed away in the early '90s at the age of 95. Last Sunday my cousins and I went to the cemetery to pay our respects to my grandparents. Then we had dim sum at Top Cantonese to reminisce the old days. We called from the cemetery to reserve a table, the person who answered the phone was friendly and polite, there was no problem with a last minute reservation. The parking lot was very busy and we couldn't find a parking spot, we ended up parking on the side streets. The restaurant was not as busy as another nearby dim sum restaurant, we were sat at the back room with two other larger parties. The restaurant does not have a per person "tea" charge and there was a 10% off offer (the competition nearby had 20% off, that might be the reason this place is not as busy). We ordered wild rice with dried scallops sticky rice wraps, braised beef tendon & tripe, steamed Shanghai juice pork dumpling, spring rolls with shrimp and garlic, steamed rice roll with Chinese donut, stir fried beef with flat rice noodles, minced pork with preserved egg congee, and cheat's sweet egg twists (dessert). I only took a couple photos because there were seniors in our group who were very hungry and it was too rude to be taking out my phone and taking photos during this rare extended family gathering. In general, the food tasted decent and was hot, the portions were generous (especially the egg twists). The only disappointment was the Shanghai pork dumping, the wrapping of each piece was leaking before we touched them and the juice already escaped. Despite being seated in a room, our server was very attentive and check on our needs constantly. She was pleasant and promptly gave us new sweet sauce when we accidentally contaminated the original one with peanut sauce (one member of our party has nut allergies).

Came here for a family style dinner Friday night and had a great meal! I came with a large group of 36 people, so we were seated in a private room off to the side with 3 tables of 12. It was a bit of a tight squeeze, but we made it work. The restaurant itself wasn't that big, and decor was casual. My table of 12 ordered 10 dishes, which was just the right amount (* marks my favorites): 5 pounds of spotted prawn ($26.80/lb) - it was my first time trying spotted prawn. I think they steamed (or boiled?) the ones here and it was pretty good! 2 salted egg yolk crab ($38.80/crab) - pretty standard for crab imo * Pork neck and onion claypot ($29.80) - the pork was super tender Chicken ($49.80 for a whole chicken) - again, pretty standard for chicken at a Cantonese place Peking duck served two ways ($72.80) - one dish was the standard duck thin slices served with thin wrappers, and the other was minced duck meat served in a saute with lettuce wraps. Both were pretty good, but the timing of the two dishes was weird. The first dish was the first dish out, and the second dish was the second to last dish served * Sauteed beef with vermicelli in claypot ($25.80) - I've never had this dish before but I was a huge fan! The vermicelli below soaked up some of the flavors of the beef sauce above, while the beef was very tender Sauteed string beans ($24.98) - pretty standard. Always gotta get your veggies in! E-fu noodles with shrimp ($26.80) - pretty standard * Fried rice with abalone sauce on top ($28.80) - also my first time trying this dish, but I loved the abalone sauce on top. It went so well with the fried rice, which also had a good wok hei flavor We paid about ~$55 pp which I thought was a bit pricy, but we did get a lot of expensive seafood dishes. Top Cantonese Restaurant is in a plaza with its own lot, but there's plenty of street parking in front as well as around the block in front of the park.

What a busy place...dimsum haven in lower mainland, service is very slow, plus I believed you should visit the place with someone that understand and speak cantonese,so you can order the best dishes. Interior design is Chinese inspired, huge place if I am not mistaken they can house almost a hundred clientele. Friendly service despite its like a turtle.. really very slow, maybe because its almost full capacity when I came. i ordered siomai, baby cattle fish in curry sauce and shrimp dumpling they were awesome, with hot sauce and soysauce it was very very good, and also i tried the house special chowmien,in fairness one of the best I had in lower mainland. Noisy? Yes,we all aware that our Chinese folks talks like they are always in a fight hahahaha but actually not a problem, but it was noisy... There's a large TV and they have a private room too, value of dishes were just okay a bit pricey but good ones. Since it was a busy day asking for extra soysauce will take you forever. Overall I had pleasant experience, enjoyed my foods but morethan half went home my to go. Accept cash, credit and debit. Excellent for large group and family,I didnt see any kids though but the place is kids friendly. Parking is free shared by other businesses in this block. Surely" I will return" I wish to try some seafoods from their menu.

Top Cantonese has become one of our family go to dim sum places. Their flavours are good, and the dishes are well made. I particularly like their sesame balls with bitter melon. It's an interesting combination of savoury, bitter and sweet. They are the best when they are fresh out of the oven.

This is my coworker's favorite place for dim sum. I must say the food is pretty good here. We got there around 12 pm and the place was about 90% filled. Busy place. We were given a table originally set for two. They added a round board over the table to make it bigger so that it could seat 3 to 4 persons. We shared the shrimp and scallop dumplings, siew mai, chives and shrimp pan fried cakes, stir fry vegetables and this shrimp and egg flat rice noodles dish. They were all good. The skin of the dumplings was not overly thick, and the portion size was decent. Not tiny but not huge either. The vegetables (think it was baby bok choy) was fresh and sweet. There was a slight charred (wok hei) flavor to the flat rice noodles (hor fun). The sauce was mostly on top so the bottom was a bit dry. I want to go back again just to try other dishes.

Wanting to get dad outta the house, we took him for dimsum. Due to Covid guidelines, the restaurant has lined the parking lot with a bunch of tented off tables and other smaller tables lining the walls of their exterior. They've also got them lining up around the side of the business leading to the alley. Creative? Sure. However, it was kinda cold so it sucked being out the back in the the alley. The dimsum items are consistently good here. From their shrimp dumplings to rice rolls, everything is tasty and steamed fresh. The only thing I'd consider is that being outside, your food gets cold much faster, so the dumpling skins get a little firmer, etc. Y'all gotta try to eat a little quicker!

I've been eating in this restaurant for 20 years already, the food is delicious as always, also value for money. Now with the new restriction, they have set up tent on the parking lot for guests to dine in, we must come to support the business! They also have opened a little shop beside the restaurant for take outs and some quality food ingredients, not easy to survive in the pandemic , thumb up for the team!

This is my family's go to place for dim sum. It's quite large, so good for groups, service is pretty good, and the food is yummy. The prices have gone up since the last time we went. But the food is pretty consistent. They have a good selection of items and lots to choose from their specialty menu that's offered after 10am. Food arrived really fast after we ordered. Some of the highlights of dim sum were the egg tart and the sponge cake. They were really fresh and still piping hot. The egg tart was so flaky and the custard was so smooth. The sponge cake was moist and light. They also have spicy sauce that they make themselves that is available to use and purchase. I'd say if you're in the neighbourhood, give this place a try.

My husband and I came here for our niece's 100th day. We had 3 tables sectioned off in the back area. The food was typical Cantonese set meals, and it tastes similar to other restaurants. The portion is also similar to other restaurants. The servers appeared to be more attentive - likely because we are in the private room. Our plates were changed quite frequently overt he course of the whole meal. The dishes were served timely. Not all at once and not too slow - just right. I can't really comment on the pricing as we were guests to this event. Overall, average experience compared to similar restaurants.

No frills and worth the hype!…read more Our family of six arrived at 12 pm on a Tuesday. We waited approximately 25 minutes which is not bad at all considering how popular this small restaurant is. My mom is vegetarian and my girls had a wonton noodle soup lunch at another spot down the street. So we ordered a few things mainly for my dad, husband and myself: 1) Platter with barbecue pork and chicken (雙拼叉燒香油雞) 2) Half-order of roast duck (半隻脆皮燒鴨) 3) late of roast pork (燒肉) 4) Bowl of rice (一碗米飯) We cleared everything. The meats were juicy, tender, and flavorful. My girls are usually indifferent to Cantonese barbecued meats but they tried it and enjoyed everything as well. This is definitely a place to repeat if and when we revisit Vancouver.

They ran out of duck but do not fret because the soya chicken is where it's at. The soya chicken is incredibly tender, even the breast meat is tender. Secondly, it's perfectly marinated and if you dab a little of their homemade soy sauce, it's even better. Eat this with rice and you'll never want another meal in your life. This was easily our favorite dish for the place. Bbq pork and crispy pork are both spot on as well. They give generous and juicy cuts and the crispy pork is, well, crispy. The skin is a nice crunch and the meat is juicy, what more could you ask for? I still salivate and dream of the meat here and I wish we had something like this back in LA cause I don't know who else would make soy chicken as good as here. Cash only so come prepared! If you're a US tourist, they take USD as well but canadian is still the better deal.

Hei Hei Rice Roll is legit good, totally recommend, even my daughter too, I thought of her ( since she LOVES rice roll and couldn't make it on this trip with me) while enjoying these roll but when I shared with her the photos and mention that we will go back here with her- she already visited. She said it was so good! Hei Hei Rice Roll is located at the Richmond Public Market, oh wow - this place is really popular, on the 2nd visit I was the first in line then the line wasn't so long but while waiting for our order, the line got super long. I was lucky I didn't wait long in line. Best to arrive early. I am not sure what the secret to the rice roll but Wow, it's so thin, silky, smooth texture with the toppings, so great together. The last 2 times we had rice roll with my daughter at Portland and Seattle- followed per Instagram reels- those did not even compare to these rolls. My first visit I got the combo which is the best deals, starts at $15.50 but depends on what you select for the selection for rice rolls and congee. I got the pork & preserved egg congee, shrimp, mushroom, pork rice roll. The 2nd visit I got the combo again, with liver & preserved egg congee, scallop and shrimp rice rolls, but I got my order wrong for the roll- they missed the shrimp. fyi-I found out that bean sprout, corn, toppings are free! Both combo came out to $17. super cheap! Cash only, they take USD but its the same dollar $ value. I wish they take credit cards, hehe. & the Verdict: Yummy, the congee hits the spot for comfort food, loved how it is cooked and they add peanuts too. Love the packet of sauce for the rice rolls, the umami-ness, so good. Best to eat it hot and fresh! Don't forget to ask for chili sauce, to add that extra spicy kick! For now, I am not sure I'll ever find a spot that is closest to Hei Hei for my congee and rice roll fix until I get to visit Richmond, BC again.
