I have been going to Neuhaus Cafe for years and have ALWAYS had a good experience until today. My friend and I were waiting in line for a table and were next to be seated, when a waitress named Anna asked the party of 5 behind us in line to sit at the table. She said they were a party of 5 and we were only 2, so we would have to wait. It was a four top table. As I looked around the restaurant, there were many 4 top tables with only 2 seated at them. When I asked the waitress about it, she was extrememely rude and arrogant. She actually smiled as she ignored us. Needless to say I became very upset and let her know. A waiter sat us at the next available table, apologized to us, told us were were right to be upset and assured us the owner (who was off today) would be told. I have had rude wait staff, but never that rude. I will probably go back to Neuhaus, but if Anna is working that day I will leave. Normally I would give them a 4 star rating but today was not even a one star review.. read more

Do not put on the door of your restaurant your hours of operation if you actually will be closing a half hour prior. We arrived at 8:15 on a Sunday to be yelled at from by the girl behind the counter as we entered the door that the kitchen was closed. We told her we just wanted cake so she said ok. My husband ordered cake with ice cream and she told us she could not serve us any ice cream.....REALLY??? As a business owner myself, I would never tolerate that behavior from an employee! Went here for breakfast. Oh what a disappointment. Bad service, slow service, and worse food. Eggs were only barely warm and poorly mixed.

I've ordered from Neuhaus quite a few times and I have to say I love their food! I usually order the veggie quesadillas and they are huge, stuffed, and delicious! I love that they have vegetarian options. I have yet to try their cappuccinos and such but I will leave a review when I do :) I also like that the owner is always their which clearly shows he care about the customers and his team! I would recommend! Last thing- They have a huge selection of chocolate so if you're a chocolate lover this is the place for you! read more

Terrible service. From the moment I walked in, I wasn't helped. So I sat myself. It took more than 5 min for someone to acknowledge me and once they did they just took my drink order. So it wasn't even my waiter. My waiter then comes about 15 min later! Finally I'm seen! He came off not so friendly especially when I've been waiting this long I would have expected better. So after he takes my order it takes a significant amount of time to get my food. And once it comes.... I didn't get my soup with it and my sandwich was wrong. Awesome, now I have to wait longer. And there was no sincere apology. Once I finally got my sandwich it was so dry. Probably the worst sandwich I've ever had and I've had a lot of sandwiches. The only good part about this experience was the soup. And waiting for an iced tea refill, forget about it. I finally had to track someone down. The only time they were fast was when getting the check...figures. I never write reviews and I'm extremely friendly but this place I just had to warn people. It ruined my afternoon. read more

Ehhhhhhhhhhhh. Neuhaus Cafe was pretty good. I probably won't go back, but it was pretty good. I went with a large group for lunch, and it seemed that each entree everyone ordered was only mediocre. I got the Gourmet Peanut Butter Sandwich, which sounds pretty freaking sweet, but I was a tad disappointed when I found the sandwich was something I could whip up in two minutes (it was just warm whole grain bread, peanut butter, and bananas). Also, the the price point was a bit startling...ten dollars for an OK sandwich? Fo' realz? I'm sure you can find some really good food here if you tried, but my first and only experience wasn't the best. read more

We happened upon this restaurant by chance when visiting our little cousin at Hockaday. The lunch menu was upscale and delicious. The price was very reasonable for what we got! Though there was nothing organc on the menu, everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The restaurant was clean (although the mens room needed a bit of tidying up) and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. They were gay friendly. This cafe is also a chocolate shop, with beautiful truffles and cakes. Yumm! Plan to spend $10-$15 per person. read more

I go here a lot but today (Sunday) they close at 9:00. I called at 8:40 to get a sandwich to go and they said that the kitchen closes 15 minutes before closing. I informed them that it was still 20 minutes to closing, but they would not take my order. VERY WEAK if you ask me.....As I am typing this, it is 8:42.... read more

The food at this restaurant is great! The location is perfect. That's the why they are still in business. The service is TERRIBLE; it has been for years! I leave there frustrated and disappointed every time. It shouldn't take 1 1/12 hours to eat breakfast there. I shouldn't have to clean the table myself. And, I shouldn't have to go in to get more coffee. The service is slow at best. I don't like by water to be empty. I wish they could just hire some competent waiters. read more

Great coffee and breakfasts. I love their oatmeal. I always suggest Neuhaus for business meetings over coffee and have never been disappointed. This restaurant is much better biz meeting spot than the chain coffee stores! read more

I would have liked to give zero or negative stars if it were possible. VERY VERY sloppy service.... I was there with two kids (less than 5 yrs old). It took them at least 45 minutesto get a slice of pizza for the kids. It was also annoying to see people, who arrived after us,got served before. Half way through the wait -- waiter brings paper and crayons -Is not that a bit too late while waiting with two hungry kids? They delivered my order wrong. Instead of offering to correct the mistake, the waiter pats me on the shoulder and says "Sorry". Unbelievable! We just moved to Dallas. I live, traveled, worked around the world in 6 continents. I dined in all sorts of restaurants, from Alinea in Chicago (the most amazing and pleasant experience ever!!!) to a small cafe on the back streets of Cairo. Such sloppy and ruthless service I have never seen before. Besides my kids had a tummy problem after our lunch. Good Luck if you are ever considering going there. I've been coming to this little cafe for 2 years and it remains my favorite neighborhood spot for lunch. I prefer to go around one after the lunch crowd has passed. The atmosphere is not fine dining by any means but its a cozy little place to read a book, sip on a mocha, and enjoy a sandwich. The Greek Sandwich with sweet potato fries is positively delish. The owner is there every day and stops by each table to make sure the customers are happy with their food. I give this place 5stars. They also have an extensive array of chocolates and pies. read more

The food was mediocre at best, the service was slow, the price was expensive for the quality and what you get! I paid $16 for lettuce chicken and dressing that looked like it came from Mc Donald's. When I asked the owner about it he said "they charge that much at Houston's and other restaurants so I can charge that much here and people will pay it". I personally don't see how a salad that is of equal quality to fast good can be compared to 4 star restaurant. read more
