Disappointed and underwhelmed--especially for the price: My partner and I stopped in for brunch and ordered a simple spread: an omelet (which came with a side of potatoes), grits, and a margarita flight. The omelet and grits were fine--nothing memorable. The potatoes were tasty but drenched in butter (worth noting if you're watching cholesterol). The margarita flight, unfortunately, was a total miss. The bartender used the same measuring glass for each drink, which meant the flavors weren't distinct--they all just blended into a generic sweet syrupy mix. For a flight, I expected variety and nuance, not three versions of the same drink. Beyond the food, the ambiance left a lot to be desired. Fingerprints all over the TVs and surfaces made the place feel unkempt. Nothing about the experience felt thoughtful, intentional, or clean. All in, our bill came out to $75 for one entrée (a cheese omelet), a side, and three mini margaritas. I'm happy to pay that when the quality and guest experience match--but in this case, it felt way off base. TL;DR: If you're in Wrigleyville and craving New Orleans-inspired fare, there are better, cleaner, and more reasonably priced spots. Skip this one. read more

This is such a good place. Reggie is such a kind host and can singgg down. Ambiance was just what my friend and I needed when it was St.Paddys day. Drinks were really good. We got the sample plater and everything was good. The buffalo egg rolls is way better than the jerk ones doe. Peach cobbler was to die for also. They will see me again. read more

I really wanted to love this place because I'm all about black owned businesses. I ordered grilled lamb chops, they have a choice between grilled and jerked. The grilled lamb chops were so spicy I couldn't even eat them. The waitress assured me they were not jerk although they smelled and tasted like jerk. Mind you I don't eat anything spicy and the menu doesn't say anything about the grilled ones being spicy too, the waitress told me there was nothing they could do about it. I was very disappointed paying for a meal I couldn't eat. As I stated the lamb chops were spicy, and no I did not eat them. I gave them to my best friend because the waitress kept telling me there was nothing she could do about them. I told her at least 3x, each time she returned to the table she told me they weren't jerk, mind you I'm the one that bit into the spicy lamb chop. Hell the waitress was there, I told her several times that they were spicy and still nothing. Had I known they were spicy which it does not state on the menu, I would not have ordered them. Made an early afternoon RSVP so only four people in restaurant; good 90s R&B music playing (wife enjoyed that!); food was fresh, flavorful and plentiful, with a creole kick to it. Our server Roshanda was pleasant and accommodating. The restaurant is not as big, maybe sits 30 in dining and 6 at bar. But it is an intimate setting for great date night. Was looking for a vegan spot to dine and chill at without having to make a long trek up north and found this gem. Beautiful, swanky decor with low light to set a perfect ambiance. Nice vibey music playing at the perfect volume so me and my wife could speak to one another without yelling. Just was a really dope experience. Now on to the food. We had all vegan at our table and it was smacking!!! Buffalo chicken rolls, crab cakes, yams, Cajun pasta, and jambalaya. Highly recommended 10/10 Also big shout out to the bartender for serving some really exquisite beverages. I LEFT HANGRY! My rating has nothing to do with the service. My server was Romeo. He did great. The other waiters were nice as well. What I did not appreciate was the 20% gratuity added to my bill and I did not see a sign stating it would and it wasn't on the menu. I could've missed signage but it wasn't printed on the menu. It's a pretty small space. I do not recommend for groups. I got there at 540p to be told the bartender comes in at 6p. Then overheard a staff member tell others 630p. He came at 638p. I was the only person sitting at the bar and not once did he acknowledge me. It doesn't look as if he could take orders but he could at least acknowledge the fact I was sitting there. The cooler they were getting ice out of he placed the top on the floor. I ordered fried chicken to go at 626p. I received it at 700p. I ordered gumbo, which I do not consider gumbo (refer to pic). Appetizers was actually not bad but we waited a hour and 10 minutes for them to come food never came the owner finally came to the table she explained there was call offs and other things but knowing the Chris brown concert was today and not preparing is insane too me . She didn't attempt to accommodate us or anything she basically was full of excuses I wanna say I would go back but they definitely ruined my vibe . Define left hangry! The woman that brought out the food knocked over water on the whole table, didn't replace it and had an attitude about ruining our night. NOOOO. spent $77 for vegan fried fish to have hair fried into the batter, the vegan mac was over seasoned, vegan greens no seasoning. The jerk salmon rolls was very dried out, over cooked salmon. The okra was packaged right after cooking so the steam made it soggy. The chicken eggrolls were dry as well. Where do I start? You ever ate at a restaurant and wish you can eat everything on the menu. The food is so good & tasty. The Shrimp Greens, Mac n Cheese, Yams, Chicken Alfredo, Etc.. Neva hangry should not be the name , went it with really high hopes and from the minute I walked in the service was terrible ,no greetings at all, the young man just stared with a blank expression until I said the name of reservation. We were seated and were never given any menu's. We waited and waited while servers passed by our table. Finally we got up and got some menu's from the front check in ourselves. After glancing over the very short menu for over an additional 10 minutes and seeing as nobody came to take our orders we got up and left VERY disappointed.
