The food is good as far as carry out goes. However the first time I ordered, when I got home I discovered the sweet and sour chicken was missing the sauce. They also don't put any veggies or pineapple in their sweet and sour chicken. I called and complained, they stated they would make note of it for the next time I came in. I gave them a second chance and placed an order within a couple weeks. When I mentioned the prior error the clerk stated she had made note of it. Their idea of making up for the mistake: they gave me an extra container of sauce. No credit on previous purchase. Bad customer service. read more

Every time I ever called this restaurant, I am always met with a very sweet person on the other line. My favorite thing to order when ordering Chinese food is steamed dumplings, and new China Beach has some of the best I've had in a while. The green onion always tastes fresh and has a bit of a crunch to it even though the dumpling has been cooked, which is a great thing in my opinion. Sometimes I order the lunch specials another times I order the pints and quarts and I am never dissatisfied with the amount of food that I receive. The front of their menu has a few coupons once you spend a certain amount of money you get something for free which is always a plus. A lot of times they quoted me 40 to 45 minutes wait time for my delivery and they either show up early or exactly on time I have never had a late delivery. Overall, this is my favorite Chinese restaurant in town and I have been a very happy customer for over two years. read more

I have lived in the NYC metro for 13 years and I know good Chinese. This place is very close and it is hard to duplicate New York City food outside of New York. The owners are from NYC so that is key. I had the General Tso chicken with an egg roll and hot and sour soup. Everything was tasty and fresh and the American hostess from Chicago was warm and inviting to all that ordered on the phone, or sat inside the simple restaurant. The décor is plain and take out quality with simple and tidy tables / chairs and formica booths. Who cares though, the food is most important. It would be nice to have just 1 TV in case you want to watch a game and relax and spend more money in da joint. Come here and dine or take it out or even better, have them deliver it to your home or business. Its hard to find a good consistent Chinese place and this place does a great job. My wife and I were both very pleased . We got our food delivered to our hotel. The food was delivered in less than half an hour and was very hot. I had the chicken with snow peas, it had a lot of very tender tastey chicken and vegies. My wife had the cashew chicken and enjoyed it quite a lot. Food is definitely some of the best in the area. Generous portions, excellent flavor. But this is not a dine-in restaurant. There are only a few tables and no decor.... they are good for waiting for your carry out order but that's about it. But the taste makes up for the lack of amenities. Wish I lived in their delivery area, will have to make this a stop for carry out on the way home from work. read more

Store was messy. There was a child's bed in the corner. One of the booths was was full of stuff- toys, papers, etc. I ordered orange chicken and I didn't like it. It had very little meat and more breading. I dob't know that I would come back. read more

I just called 5 times. I got a fax machine twice. Nothing the third fourth time. Than they hung up the fifth time. Like they picked up the phone and Hung it up. I have been ordering from this place at least once a month since I moved to the area 5 years ago. I threw my menu away and I won't be ordering from them anymore. I am so disappointed, and hungry. One of the worst experiences I have ever had with a restaurant. Got there after placing my order to be ready at 715. Was advised they hadn't even started the Order even though it was already 740 and that it'd be a fifteen to twenty minute wait. I called Eat24 to cancel my order and to be refunded my money because I did not have the time to wait longer. When Eat24 called the restaurant to confirm, the woman they spoke with lied saying I never came in, and that my food was ready. I even showed the lady at the counter when I was in the restaurant the order on my phone. If you're going to lie about something so simple I could only imagine the possibilities of what goes on in your kitchen. read more

So my husband and I decided to splurge and order Chinese. We decided on New China Beach because it delivered. Around midnight, I was sick as a dog BUT I had to fight my husband over the bathroom because he'd been sick since 11pm! He was sick next day also. So I called to let them know, I think it's your food. She went on defense and said health dept was just there...couldn't be them. I said, oh, I think it is, we both ate it and we are both sick. Lady on phone again said, nope not from what health dept. says. I told her that wasn't good reason but, not to worry, I won't be eating there ever again. She told me, OKAY. Not great business acumen. Pretty good food, but it's your typical wok in a box place. It's a real shame that the dine in/sit down Chinese restaurants I grew up with that served authentic food and the chefs/owners took pride in no longer exist. They've all turned in to these quicky wok places. I was a little disappointed to see that their fried rice wasn't real fried rice. They dye it yellow. It had fairly good flavor, but not what I consider fried rice. Was more like yellow rice you use in Latin food. For what it is, I'd order take out again. read more

Tried this place for the first time today. I was pretty pleased with the quality of food. Only thing that grossed me out was the sticker sill on the green bell pepper...They could have removed it before cooking it into my food, but someone was in a hurry and didn't check the veggie before cooking it. Other than that, it was good. Might get from here again. read more

I work at the St Pete airport, and on recommendation from my coworkers, decided to place an order for delivery. It took an hour before the driver called to say he was there, and then despite talking to him on the phone to direct him to my location, he still couldn't find me. I told him to just forget it, and I would call the store for a refund. After talking to the owner, the driver finally showed up. I told him I had already talked to his boss and that he could go back to the store because I was getting a refund. The driver then said "no food? Fuck you, you crazy." I don't know if it even deserves 1 star. I was craving Chinese food and this was close to work with mostly good reviews so I try to fax in my order so I didn't have to wait (I don't like to be on the phone at work for personal things) someone answered and hung up, I check the number it was correct so I tried again and it was Busy/no Response so I drive there let them know and got really no good answer as to why, so I order and sit down. While I'm waiting I have to listen to someone in the kitchen speaking (more like yelling) a language other than English so loud it sounded like they were mad about something so I am uncomfortable and irritated I had to listen to it, just think if you were eating there having to listen to that the whole time during your meal. Also, I don't expect much for a mostly take out Chinese place as a restaurant but this was beyond causal, they had a little girls bike parked by the pop cans stacked in the corner and a beach chair and a bunch of stuff just thrown on a table, everything was in disarray and looked like it had been there a while (all in the restaurant). Some of the items on the table were a stack of papers, menus and a girls bike helmet on the papers, and as I'm scanning the area I see a German Cockroach run out of the stack of papers and under the helmet. So now I have already paid for my food and just want to get out of there....I took the food but am scared and to grossed out to eat. read more
