Had the fried dumplings, orange chicken and happy family. All three were well made and delicious.

I frequent the Apex area for work and found myself close to New China Chef, so I thought I'd give this place a try. Whenever I go a Chinese place for the first time, I get Hunan Chicken (extra spicy), white rice, and a shrimp egg roll. Hard meal to mess up, but many have so I get something simple. I'll tell you; this place knows Hunan Chicken!! It was cooked beautifully! The chicken was tender and bursting with flavor and heat! They actually the special request box! The rice was fluffy and absorbed that spicy sauce very well. The shrimp egg roll was like a flavor bomb in my mouth. So good! Usually I get hot sauce to add because even though I request extra spicy, it rarely happens. The hot sauce at New China Chef is not the cheap stuff with the Red 40 dye in it; it's actually some oil with red pepper flakes. I almost put too much on the Hunan chicken, but it adds much more flavor that the cheap hot sauce. This place knows what good Chinese food is and will see my face plenty when I'm in the

We haven't ordered Chinese takeout for years primarily due to the pandemic. Today was the day and we ordered 125.General Tso's Shrimp, S 8. Dragon & Phoenix, and S12. Hot & Spicy Beef, using the iPhone app. I got there a few minutes prior to arranged time and my order was ready. By the time we began to eat lunch at home, 15 minutes later, everything was still hot. Each dish was thoroughly enjoyed. The counter staff were very friendly. We shall return

Got the General Tso's chicken and it was great. Not particularly spicy, but very flavorful. Good food and good service.

This is the closest to the Polynesian Chinese food we have up North in Boston. They remember your name and orders which feels welcoming.

Room for probably 3 diff groups of people to eat. There were tables to seat 4, two tall stool seats by the window facing the parking lot, and a tucked away spot with a folding chair beside it and had cups of utensils on it. I ordered the cold flour noodle with sesame sauce and the shaanxi mutton soak buns. Both were tasty and the cold noodles were refreshing. The employee described the mutton soak buns dish as a soup soaked pancake which is pretty accurate. It reminds me of a rice porridge but with chopped dough instead of rice. The restroom is in the back through the kitchen which is kinda cool because you can see them rolling out all the round flat bread that they use for the dishes. I'm guessing it's what they use for the rougamo (I've seen it at other Chinese restaurants described as a Chinese hamburger) and the shaanxi soak buns. It almost has a gnocchi type of consistency. It isn't your average fried rice and stir fry type of Chinese restaurant so if you're looking for something like that it might not meet your expectations. I would definitely come back to try other menu items. Also, get the plum juice. It's delicious!

We were ravenous, but had an intense Chinese food craving, so we ordered Chengdu 7 food from Uber Eats. Food did not disappoint! We ordered sesame chicken, chef special fried rice, chicken fried rice, Mongolian beef*, shrimp fried rice, and everything was delicious! Fan favorites were the Mongolian beef and chicken fried rice, but honestly EVERYTHING was good. And you can tell a lot from a place by how they package your food: food was delivered in tightly seeled packs and labeled! It sounds minor, but is so helpful when you're feed 2 dozen hungry people. All in all, Chengdu 7 you truly made me a fan of you. I will most certainly be returning for more!

We enjoyed so many different dishes - hot and sour soup, scallion pancakes, egg rolls, hand pulled noodles with beef, kung Pao chicken, cumin beef, beef with vegetables, crag rangoon, and pork dumplings. Every dish was wonderful. And for anyone who has not tried the hand pulled noodles here you really must try them - they are a highlight of a meal - incredibly delicious with a wonderful texture. The flow of food to our table was great, not too fast or rushed and not too slow. Our waitress was wonderful and ensured that our group had everything that we needed to enjoy our meal. Will I be back again - Absolutely!! Everyone in our group agrees that this is the best Chinese food anywhere! I will caution some seeing this review that unlike many other Asian restaurants, if you order a Hot and spicy dish here it will indeed be very hot. I consider that to be good because I enjoy hot spicy food, but for those who cannot handle hot food stick with the milder dishes.

We got the: - Scallion Roasted Beef Pancake Roll: Definitely recommend getting this as an appetizer! The scallion pancake is super crispy with unbelievably tender beef inside & perfect amount of sweetness from the hoisin sauce. - Griddle Chicken with Mixed Vegetables: I've never eaten anything like this before, and absolutely loved it. Loved all the spices- cumin, fennel, doubanjiang- & the mala essence; the crispy, tender chicken; and the variety of vegetables, especially the lotus root. - Shrimp Ho-Fun: The shrimp were tender & the wide rice noodles have such a fun, bouncy texture; a flavorful dish. - Spicy Boiled Fish: The fish was super flaky; Taipei 101's version of this has a bit less mala flavor than I like, but this was still tasty. - Chinese Braised Pork: The pork was tender with a good amount of fat and I appreciated the bok choy, but it was a bit too sweet for me. Ambiance is nice, lots of tables. Service was fast. There are parking spots in front of the restaurant, but a little limited in number. 10/10 would recommend!

The vegetable lo mein was just as underwhelming, with only a small amount of carrots, scallions, and broccoli, lacking real flavor while somehow being overly salty. We also ordered the eggplant with basil, but the sauce was thick, overly sticky, and tasted more like sugar than anything else. I can't understand how this could be considered authentic. We had visited this restaurant about ten years ago, and the quality has clearly declined since then.

The delicious smells wafting through the restaurant immediately let me know that I was in the right place. I ordered the Fatty Beef Szechuan Hotpot Yunnan Rice Noodle & Fried Dumplings. Both arrived in no time, and were piping hot on a cold winter's day. The fried dumplings were crispy, not at all greasy, and filled with very flavorful filling, coupled with a perfectly paired dipping sauce. The hotpot... oh, the hotpot, was filled with pillowy fried tofu, fatty and tender beef, cabbage, wood ear mushroom shreds, seaweed, bean sprouts, and a ton of noodles. All of this was swimming in some of the most amazing Szechuan peppercorn broth that was spicy, but not numbing and not overpowering. It was the perfect broth to wrap each ingredient in flavor. After I finished all of the delicious beef and veggies, I went for the noodles. I never really new what "bouncy" meant when describing noodles until today. They were truly bouncy in with every bite, silky smooth, tender but with a little bit of bite to them. I ate every morsel that I could fit in my stomach and not explode... this was the perfect winter dish for this South Florida eater.

The quail egg was the heart of it. Got the bone broth this time. While the broth is good, it's not great to the point I'd crave for this. I'm honestly not a big fan of the rice noodles but they went well with the broth. My girl got the noodle dish with the beef tripe, and we also ordered beef tripe for appetizer and milky rice cake for dessert. The beef tripe is one of our favorite appetizers, and it's perfect with Japanese beer. The noodles are a bit spicy but the spice level was adjusted low to my girl's liking. The rice cakes were good but not the best we've tried. It's something we'd order again though. For 2 people, we ended up spending around $50, including tips, so reasonably priced but not as satisfying as a dim sum dinner. | Overall Score: | Overall Score: 4.1/5
