Its right by chuck e cheese, so i usually like to make a whole day of it when i go with my fam. This is not a knock your socks off place. It's just good Chinese buffet at a great price. The selection is good. Many different options and wide variety. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was tasty and fresh. They don't make a while lot of each item so they always refresh. The manager is always talking temperatures of the food. They renovated this place! Wow. Big difference in terms of looking more clean and modern. Would be nicer if they could update the furniture too. This is the first buffet place that we tried during the pandemic and it's been about 7 days since our dining without any symptoms. *fingers-crossed*. At the entrance, they took our temperature and contact information and we were provided plastic gloves. They skip tables to put ample spaces between dining guests. We went there early in the morning and there were very few diners. Nothing has changed as far as the buffet-style food. I've heard of a few buffet places switching to ordering from a list and food is served to the table but this place continues to allow diners to get their own food from the aisle. A bit scary during these times, high chance of cross contamination, but again - we were there early and the first ones to dine. The quality of the food is akin to cheap Chinese food take-out. Not really the greatest but you get what you pay for. Their not expensive compared to other buffet places. What they offer is a ton of mediocre food at a low price and I typically dine here just so I can get my cravings satiated. I've come here twice. Once just for takeout bubble tea - which was great. The second time for the sit-down buffet. The place is enormous and the variety of food is vast. It is loud and can get pretty crowded, so not a relaxing atmosphere. There are a lot of seafood options, but all of the seafood that I tried (except for the stuffed clams) tasted strange. I did not like it at all. Surprisingly their potato salad was my favorite thing that I tried here. The boneless spareribs were dried out like they had been sitting under the heating lamps for days and the pepper steak was too chewy. I paid nearly $20 for just one small plate of food because the quality was so poor I didn't want to eat any more . The wait staff is incredibly rude. AYCE fans everywhere are likely to be disappointed with the spread here, despite the group friendly setting and more than recession friendly prices. Located along the the shopping mall strip where most businesses struggle to gain any love, New Grand is one of the only food options on that part of the street. Parking is located above the facility or on the street. Just to note, the roof top parking is free with validation from stores. People who are used to eating at less than desirable Chinese buffets, may find lots in common with their go-to and New Grand. For starters, the decor is as antiquated as one would expect: dead walls, virtually the same kind of chairs / tables (do they all come from one company or something?) along with a similar layout for food. The bathrooms are in a word, were neither grand nor new. They were just plain nasty. Finally, the food is the typical hodgepodge mix of mediocre items. Nothing most people would want to get caught dead eating, but sometimes the general allure is simply food itself, not the expectation that it's all going to be downhill from there. The most reliable item might be their crab snow legs and the rest of the seafood (sushi, crabs, etc.) and random Chinese + American (mac and cheese? pizza? oh my) entrees are visually quite unappetizing. Lastly, the service like in any restaurant will have its ups and downs. Unfortunately, it's been set to down every time I've been here. Buffet setting is in the back offering lots of variety of Chinese food, American Food, soups, Sushi, as well as a "Mexican Corner". My strategy was to stay with the Chinese food. I'm adventurous but I ain't dumb so I'm not touching raw fish in a buffet. Since this is a Chinese restaurant with Chinese staff, common sense tells me that you can count on 1 hand how many households in China are cooking fajitas, tacos, fried chicken, or making mac & cheese so no way am I going to try those. So I tried about a dozen of the Chinese dishes including their fried noodles, Dim Sum, Tso's Chicken, Lemon Chicken, pork chops, fish, etc. I would say half of the food tasted pretty bland but at least edible. Some of the dishes actually were pretty good such as the Dim Sum and the pork roast. The one thing I found inedible was the sausage so I promptly spit it out and crumpled that in a napkin so as to not get charged for leaving any leftovers. There is also a pretty big dessert station. Had 2 pieces of different cakes as well as made myself an ice cream cone from their machine. The ice cream cone with a mix of chocolate and vanilla ice cream actually was my favorite item! So 2 plates full of food, 2 pieces of cake, and an ice cream cone for only $9.69 is a definite win in my book. I know some complained about the service but the service was excellent when I was there. Some complained about the interior but it was totally fine for me. After all, I'm chewing on the food and I'm not chewing on the wooden legs. Good grief! So will this be a 5 star dining experience? No. If you want one, go on Open Table and book a table at Boulad or however you spell it. Will I go back? You bet my cheap ass I will! read more

went here for dinner a few nights ago- we aren't from NYC (and we don't look like we're from here either) we are traveling here, and there were 3 or 4 waitresses standing near our table who were being extremely judgmental and rude, clearly talking about us in their language so we couldn't understand them. we were polite and friendly, complimenting the (gross) food, and being respectful, so i'm not sure why- other than the fact we were white in a predominantly POC area. the food was also pretty gross and it was expensive considering the quality of food! $20 for a bland and not fresh dinner! so yeah, wouldn't recommend especially if you're white. i honestly wouldn't have left a review if it wasn't for the workers, i really hate leaving bad reviews but i felt this one was necessary :/ read more

New grand buffet has failed again! This is my third and last visit at new grand buffet. I read the comment from the manager, Jason Z, that the buffet will offer fresh food and have more variety of foods. I disagree with him, sorry because today I went back to this restaurant to see if they renovated the interior with more fresh dishes from the buffet table. However when I went inside, it's still the same since two years ago. The interior part of the buffet, smh... it still haves the same interior designs, the same rundown ceilings, and the same shitty landscape portrait of China that you seen in every local Chinese restaurants. Also, the buffet table is still the same, along with the greasiest dishes that I'm still afraid to grab it. Speaking of the food, two years ago I only grabbed two dishes that look fresh, but now I grabbed four dishes to test them if they're fresh or not, but they failed. The pork dumplings taste quite of hard and stale, the chicken taste a bit awful, the broccoli taste fine and so does the rice, and the dim sum taste so salty and oily, I felt like I was about to passed out because the amount of sodium that they put on the dim sum is about 900mg. The food here is pretty decent. They have a good variety of food but it doesnt taste as good as it looks. They do switch things up and add something new every once in a while. The prices arent that bad. Lunch prices are $8.99 while dinner is $9.99. Not bad but the food could be a lot better. Their dessert selection isnt that great either. The ice cream is pretty decent.
