Conrad the owner met me personally for scheduling within 3 days of contacting them and walked through our home in detail to ensure he could have the right amount of movers (4th floor walkup!) and that they could meet our timeline (which was 3 days after we met!). Hw was very patient walking me through how they would approach the job and the timing it would take given our amount of stuff Their professionalism and responsiveness was exceptional, particularly the day of when the movers called when they were 15 min away (arriving early/very much on schedule). They took utmost care with our things (no scratches etc) and even did complicated tasks like take down a murphy wall bed and take apart a crib that they then rebuilt in the new home (did not fit through the door). They were so efficient they were even faster than their original timeline. During the move in to our new home they also went above and beyond--working with us to ensure each furniture piece was in the right room--including being very patient and moving pieces around to our liking. They had additional movers help out to make the timing more efficient and easier for furniture placement (no additional cost to us). Their experience with moves in the city for over 20 years was clear throughout this process, and there is no substitute for such professionalism, kindness and diligence of each of their team members. He understands that people who are moving are stressed and anxious and need reassurance. I was concerned that the crew that moved us would be inflexible and would set about doing the work in their own way while my wife and I were set off to the side. And they were very efficient but they also checked in with my wife and myself about how certain things like sculpture and artwork or fancy ceramics should be packed. The three guys who moved our stuff were Julio, Cesar and Arturo. ZippGo moving boxes provided a wonderful service for our move. After seeing some neighbors using a…read morereusable box service, I decided to look into using something similar. ZippGo rents you a certain amount of boxes based on how many rooms/square feet you are moving, and they deliver the boxes to your address, you use them for a move, and they pick them up at the new address. It was easy to schedule and make sure the drop off and pickup worked at an appropriate time. The boxes themselves are sturdy plastic, and the top interlocks so you don't need any packing tape. The boxes fit on top of each other which makes them easy to stack and move. You can also pick box inserts that are designed for plates and glassware which made it so easy to move these items. I would recommend ZippGo in a heartbeat- it made our move faster, easier, and more eco friendly too!

I paid a $200 deposit to book, and then the receiver paid $1,250 at drop-off, which I assumed was the final balance. But after the move was complete, I received an additional invoice for $490 -- a 34% increase over the original quote. That extra charge was never communicated upfront, and nowhere in the estimate did it say the price could vary. Turns out, they charged me for drive time back to their location -- after the job was finished -- which was not explained in their estimate or terms. They also showed up 30 minutes late and took 3 hours to load less than one room of items. I've worked with several moving companies, and I've never seen such a small load take so long. They brought very minimal packing supplies -- no extra blankets or proper wrapping materials -- just the bare bones. It didn't feel like the kind of care you'd expect from a professional moving crew. When I raised concerns with the owner, he brushed it off by saying I had "underestimated the job." That's not acceptable. It's the company's job to estimate accurately. I also mentioned that other companies gave similar quotes, yet stuck to them -- and he responded by saying they charge by the hour, not flat rate, even though that was not made clear in their estimate. He offered me $300 off a future move, but frankly, I don't plan to use them again. I don't feel the job was handled honestly, and I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. Be careful -- what you're quoted may not be what you end up paying.
