Iced peppermint mocha (not filled all the way?)
    Alissa D.

We were happy to find this little coffee in shop on our road trip. I ordered a peppermint mocha iced latte. My drink was delicious! Odd note was even others waiting for drinks before me received drinks not filled to the top, mine was no different. So that was a little disappointing. Plenty of space inside to sit and catch up with friends and great clean bathroom.

    Egg and cheese bagel

This cool bakery was located right in the center of town. Lots of parking up front. Staff was all very friendly when taking our order. Nice outside seating as well to enjoy when the weather allows it. I got the egg and cheese bagel on an everything bagel and my wife got the egg burrito. We also got some monkey bread. The egg and cheese bagel was good, fresh and I loved the crispness after it was toasted. My wife said she enjoyed the burrito, it was a pretty big portion. The monkey bread was the real winner though. It was amazing, lots of flavor with the nuts, raisins and icing. It melted in your mouth and was so soft. Decent portions too. I knocked a star off because the tip screen showed 25% as a minimum, then 30%, 35% and 40%. I entered my own and gave them 20% but cmon guys, the tip scene is getting out of hand. I'm happy to support local businesses and it's staff but why is 40% even an option? For ringing up my order and handing me my bagel? (Which I had to get up from my outside seating to get it) The least you could have done is brought it outside to me for throwing a 20% tip. Ending my tip rant...I would still go back, the food was good

    Matcha
    Michelle D.

The sandwich was good but skip the matcha. I don't drink coffee anymore but enjoy a nice matcha latte. This was 90% milk and no matcha. You can see from the photo the color of the matcha. I saw that they had a container of matcha powder and was excited but I could barely taste the matcha if any. I also don't like being forced to order only one size of an iced matcha latte for this very reason - because to make it a larger size it has to by default contain way more milk than I would like. I only drank a few sips and sadly had to chuck the whole thing in the trash. If you're going to serve matcha lattes at least offer another size? Otherwise it would just be a flavored milk. No other options around this area so take this for what it is.

    Large pleasant patio in front

This little bakery and café in Nederland is a hidden gem. Inside, the ambiance is cozy rustic, and there's a lovely front patio to enjoy as well. The selection of fresh and tempting offerings made it tough to decide what to choose. In the end, my husband and I both settled on their quiche, with one of them being gluten-free. They were absolutely delicious! It's a fantastic spot to visit when you're in the area or en route to Eldora!

Stopped in for a snack on our way through Nederland. Ordered a sausage sammie and a croissant and they were both fantastic. We took ours to go but a number of people were dining in and it seems like a great atmosphere. Not sure we will be through the area again but absolutely will stop by if we go through there again!

Pig - ham, cheese, spinach on house made ciabatta bread warmed
    D R.

Delicious pig sandwich featuring warm Ciabitta bread (home made), ham, cheese, spicy mustard, spinach, served warm and delicious! We arrived around 11 am, plenty of parking, wonderful outdoor seating, people watching, service with a smile. Mixed with locals and those enjoying this community or heading up to the mountains. Delightful service. The croissant better left for warming up once back home. We've often stopped for coffee but lunch there was special! Well done!

I'm a sucker for bakeries so during our impromptu stop is Nederland, we had to try this bakery. It did not disappoint. A cute shop that had local art hanging all around. It gave mountain, bake shop vibes- which is exactly what it was haha. My husband got the coconut macaroons and I got the hiker cookie (orange, cranberry cookie). Everything was gluten free which did matter to us but still nice. They were the perfect sweet treats. The macarons were big and had a great coconut flavour. They were firm but not dry and my husband said he would have ordered 100 of them if he could have. The cookie was also great. I was worried it was going to be dry and crunchy because of the GF flour but it was not. It was soft and just the right about of sweet. The cookie was also quite large. Great treats after our lunch! Stop in and check it out.

Had such a delicious piece of quiche here. They have an amazing menu of specialty latte beverages. Cute place, has a great indoor & outdoor space to sit. Good service as well!

An old Boulder type place, one of the remaining few. Gf options great coffee, friendly staff, great views

Solid coffee shop with some baked items. We had oat milk lattes and two macaroons - one plain and one chocolate. The lattes were good, solid, not exceptional, but still satisfying. As it goes with coffee. We enjoyed them! The macaroons were phenomenal! The chocolate covered one was the best. Recommended!

The food: It doesn't seem like a lot at first, but what you get is actually plenty of food for the price. We filled up with just a basic plate of omelet and pancakes and some coffee. Best brunch I had in Frisco…read more Butterhorn Bakery and Cafe is the highest-rated brunch spot in Frisco, and based on my experience, I'd agree with the hype. Of the couple of brunch spots I tried in town, this was my favorite. I ordered the Cornucopia with eggs over medium and substituted the home fries for fruit. The fruit was surprisingly good, strawberries, blueberries, and bananas with a light sprinkle of powdered sugar. A side of fruit can be pretty hit or miss when you substitute it at brunch, so I was pleasantly surprised. The eggs were cooked right, and the toast was fine. I opted for turkey bacon, though, and I'd recommend skipping it. It was pretty crispy and lacked much flavor. The standout was the cinnamon roll French toast. We ordered it to share with the table, and I highly recommend doing the same. It comes with two large cinnamon rolls that are soaked in egg batter and grilled French-toast style. It was top tier. I noticed several tables around us sharing the regular cinnamon roll as well, and those looked fantastic too. They also have a bakery counter inside with plenty of grab-and-go options. The pastries all looked great, along with fresh bread, cookies, and other sweet treats. If you're visiting Frisco and looking for brunch, Butterhorn is definitely worth a stop. And whatever you order, I'd make sure the cinnamon roll French toast makes it onto your table.

I had the turkey chimney and I found it very good. Lots of meat and vegetables. The bread felt very fresh. Though plentiful, the turkey felt a bit basic (compared to the ham). I also sampled the caprese sandwich (which is split open--not a chimney, but the same bread). Once again, the veggies really shown through here. Next time, we would have the basalmic glaze on the side as it was a bit heavy for our tastes and soaked through a bit. The cheese was hearty. There was a slight miscommunication about our two other meals, for kids. One was correct (the PB&J). However, I think they toasted the bread? It was a bit more crunchy than we would have expected instead of soft. This, unfortunately, made it unpalatable for one kid. I thought it tasted good, but the toasting (or stale bread?) wasn't the best choice. The other was supposed to be a ham sandwich, plain. But instead we got a ham, havarti, and egg chimney (which, looking over the receipt, I was charged for). That one is on me for not correcting the order. This change also made it undesirable for kid #2. Upon my trying it, the bread, a chimney, was equally as good. The ham here was better than my turkey. There was a lot of egg. This was not so good if you're my kid, but probably very good if that's the actual sandwich you want. We had a sweet chimney with nutella. It was very good! Seating is very limited. They have a small-ish space next door. The table we were at was broken, but others looked to be in better shape.
