Timing is misrepresented on the Yelp page. Says it's open till 11 pm; but kitchen closes at 8 pm. Ended having to cancel the order.

If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. My sisters booked Reza's for a large event, having ordering take out from here on numerous occasions during covid and after the end of lockdown as well. Where do I even begin on how awful the event's service was?? Firstly- the event was scheduled to begin at 12:30, so guests arrived about then. As I arrived around 12:30 to help set up decorations as we didn't want to be a hassle for the staff and set up too early, we were immediately met with attitude, anger, and short responses to any question or concern we had. The hostesses, my sisters, had made it clear we would need the restaurants assistance in having 2-3 utility tables to use for gifts, cake, etc- none of which were at the sight and took over half an hour to be given to us. They had also requested that because it was a birthday event and there would be cake, to have the cake stored in a fridge. Again, met with attitude and eye rolls from the staff! My sisters were late to the event but had let staff know our siblings would be there at the event start time to help set up and answer any questions needed. The staff refused to get the event started in serving appetizers, opening the bar, or even serving water until roughly 1:00pm. Even after appetizers had began to be served, lunch itself wasn't served until nearly an hour later, and we only were to have the birthday event until 2:30! Thirdly- when booking Reza's, we communicated the event would be roughly 200 attendees, and the staff made it clear they could accommodate for us. When we arrived to set up, not only could they all of a sudden not accommodate, but had split the party into two rooms on opposite sides of the restaurant, with ZERO noticed until we arrived! 70% of the party was in one room, and 30% in the other. The entire second room was served food much later than the first, was given attitude anytime adults tried being served at the bar, and due to the lack of notice of the separation, were unable to sit and watch / be apart of the party as a whole(pictures, cake cutting, speeches, and more) . The second room was quite small, and the thermostat was broken. The day of this event it was 90 degrees outside! Things can happen we understand, so we asked the staff what they could do to help alleviate the heat. Staff simply shrugged this off, said I'm sorry, and did absolutely nothing. We had to prop open windows on our own to attempt to help the room's temperature. In these times, we understand restaurants are dealing with staff shortages, but that does not justify unprofessionalism or attitude towards attendees and hostesses in any capacity for an event that you agreed to book months in advance. We will never be booking with Reza's again, and definitely do not recommend. read more

I have tried their buffet and have also taken it to-go. Love this place, has great vegetarian options especially the Kash-e-bademjan (excuse my spelling) My wife got the create your own vegetarian combo and I had the Chicken Koubideh Kabob and OMG... the meat was so juicy and soft and the dill rice was something else. Love Persian / Mediterranean food and this was some good food. Tip: If you are a big eater go for the buffet - Best bang for the buck. read more

Well now...I haven't been here in quite awhile, not for lack of wanting to visit. Had a meeting next door, so I figured: time to visit an old fave. Where do I start? A crudely lettered sign warned that if you parked in the back you'd get towed and there was free valet. So valet it was. I sat there in front of the door for ten minutes, no valet guy. Finally a waiter came out and said that there was...no valet guy. He parked my car. it was 12:30pm and the dining room had a smattering of customers. The sat me in the corner (I was ok with that being by myself) and I set off for the buffet. Everything looked delicious as always, and I took a bit of everything-A semi-creamy Chicken soup, Falafels with Tahini, Hummus, cucumber salad, the stewed lamb, the dill rice, ground lamb kebabs, ground beef kabobs, charcoal chicken-like I said the whole mishegoss. I was ready for a major feed. The soup was really good, Cukes were good, falafels were good. When I got into the meat though, it was dry and bereft of seasoning. These kebabs were always the star of the show before, and now they were as boring as....unseasoned overcooked ground meat. The lamb stew was a bit better, but the meat was pretty fatty, even for lamb. It did have a welcome hot spicy note, but it was too close to basic pot roast for me. The dill rice with Lima beans in the past could have filled in for a whole meal, but this time this old fave was bland and insipid. I went back and got a scoop of the Chicken Biryani Rice, but that too was flavorless, except for another hot note. WTF? I waited for quite awhile to get a refill on my diet coke, which bugged me 'cos there really wasn't anybody there. The little honey soaked churro thing was okay, but I think anything with a modicum of flavor would have shone through at that point For ten bucks, it was......food. It tasted like a number of things, none of which was the knockout stuff I remember from Reza's. So, two stars. The Soup and falafel were really fine, but the rest? Phfft..... read more

They ran out of appetizers we wanted to order, did not serve soup which was included. The service was very slow and they added 20% tip to the bill. Food was nothing special. This place is just barely hanging on. It is dated and dirty. The staff is rude, incompetent and unapologetic .It almost feels like they resent their customers. Considering they are located in Oakbrook which has endless dining choices within minutes, one would think Reza would work double hard to it least keep their loyal following by focusing on the details and great service. But apparently not. We arrived to a grundgey looking restaurant that only had one other party of four seated when we arrived. Out of all the table in the place, we where seated at a small one in front of the kitchen. The salt and pepper shakers were on the seat next to me foe some reason and not on tge table and we were served two bottles of warm water from Costco. We asked for an item on the menu and the waiter curtley said "NO FALAFEL! and informed us this was not a falafel place, whatever that meant When my boyfriend said he was aware of that, but that this is a common Iranian item, the waiter asked why were giving him attitude. We wished him a good day and promptly left...and will never return. Maybe they waiter was having a bad day, but in this line of work, you need to fake it if being cordial does not come naturally to you. read more

It does not look like the management puts in any effort to do simple things like having someone vacuum, wipe down the doors, wipe down the serving dishes. We called three times for information and got different information each time. The plates are worn and the chairs are stained and do not look like they have been cleaned in years. The food is mediocre...it is SO good at the Chicago location. Reza's has been a mainstay through my childhood and a review is long overdue. We have been visiting the Oak Brook location for years and I've experienced lunch buffets, dinner buffets, renting out the back room (during my wedding week to host a dinner for out of town family, for example), to a la carte meals with friends and family. The positives include good quality food no matter when you're there, a nice and clean atmosphere, and easy parking and coordination for people traveling from all parts. Today, on July 4th, we had a group of 12 for dinner which included people traveling from nearby suburbs, downtown Chicago, and Milwaukee. Everyone arrived and parked seamlessly next door. For dinner, the family style option is a great choice given the ability to sample several items in bulk quantity for a large group, such as ours today. We ordered the Persian white fish, lamb chops, and chicken koubideh, accompanied by white and dill rice. We all had the option of chicken barley or tomato lentil soups. Additionally, the fresh Persian bread with baba ghannough and hummus is the perfect starter. I was happy with all of the dinner items but was particularly impressed by the fish. The chops were large and flavorful and the koubideh is great as always. We ended the dinner with hot tea, the proper Persian way. I look forward to dropping by soon for whatever next event brings me to Reza's. read more

I went here for the reception after a baptism so there was a large group of us in the banquet hall. The food and service was fantastic. I have never had dill rice before and it was yummy! My favorite appetizer was the feta cheese with the roasted red pepper. For the main course, we were given lamb chops, chicken and white fish. My favorite was the white fish. I found the lamb to be a bit gamey and not my favorite. The dessert, which I will call a honey donut, was to die for! Overall, I really enjoyed the meal! I only have two gripes about Reza's. The first was the parking situation. You have to park pretty far away in the back of a parking lot for the condo Reza's is located beneath. The walk was not very fun in heals and a dress. There is valet parking, but I never like giving a stranger the keys to my car- so I guess that is my own fault. My other complaint was the heating. Some people were really warm and some were really cold, so I guess there was poor circulation. But I kept going from hot to cold. read more

I had better food and service at this location than at the downtown Chicago location. Note: They do not have a lunch menu on weekends. The lunch menu is only offered Monday through Fridays. I was forced to eat from the dinner menu, where the prices are slightly higher I came on Easter Sunday and the place was packed. Everyone was taking advantage of the $24.95 lunch buffet. I didn't order this because it wasn't really worth it for me. But if you are a meat eater, then I would recommend doing the buffet because there was a LOT of meat in the buffet menu. We ordered the vegetarian option #3 which had couscous, Tabbouli, Falafel, Hummus, Baba Ghannouj, and Dolmeh. The entree also came with lentil soup and your choice of dill or white rice. The dill rice was delicious! We also ordered the lamb dish, which also came with lentil soup. Between the two of us, it was about $33. I thought the prices were a bit high for the suburb and for Mediterranean food. But the food had a lot of flavor and portions were big. We both had left overs to carry home. What a meal!!! I ordered via Grubhub and was not sure what to expect. I not only received my order way before the expected time, it came hot and amazingly good (yes, even stored in those styrofoam containers!) To start, I ordered the grilled mushroom appetizer to start and they came juicy and flavorful! Also four skewers worth, which I would never complain about :) My meal was a beef koubideh kebob and a boneless chicken breast kebob, with roasted potatoes. Talk about flavor, wow! Both came with just enough char on the outside and moistness on the inside.... frickin heavenly! To top it off I ordered strawberry cheesecake because I'm currently crippled (leg boot due to rupturing a tendon) and deserve it. ONLY REASON I DID NOT GIVE FIVE STARS is because they forgot the strawberry and gave me plain cheesecake. Not the end of the world, but I love me some strawberry garnish! The person who served was truly the best server ever, if I remember correctly his name was Nawadin or something close. I've never written a 1 star review, but the experience with this restaurant absolutely warrants it (I'd give 0 stars if I could). I ordered a single combination dish for delivery. Estimated arrival was one hour later, which seemed excessive given it's a 5 minute drive. In any case, two doordash drivers went by, and now we're 1.5 hours in and no food. I call the restaurant, no updates (I was put on hold for 15 minutes twice and I just gave up). 2 hours later, the third doordash driver is told they don't have an estimate for him. 10 minutes afterwards, they say 30 more minutes...all in all, we're on 2.5 hour wait time. The service itself is enough for me to not be able to look past this restaurant, even if the food is worth it. read more

For those thinking of doing a large party reception here, please read carefully and not waste your money here, believe me on this: 1. If you ask him for refills, you'll literally feel scared with the ignorant and scary looks he'll give you, like you're asking for something that is coming out of his house pantry 2. we used to go to this spot all the time and wanted to support them recently so had sent our out of towners go pick up a take out order- Never have we ever been hung up on (TWICE) before, but these folks were so overwhelmed. (And rude) that they hung up on us TWICE after checking on our order. And that's not even the worst thing-they kept trying to blame DAYLIGHT SAVINGS, refusing to connect us with a manager, and telling us we were HARASSING them when we told them our guest had been sitting there for 45 minutes AFTER our order was supposed to be ready. A truly mind blowing experience - Don't know how the food will turn out but would advise u to never order from here if u are used to ANY level of customer service - So sad - we had been going to this place for 25 years. read more

We had a friend ask us to go here because he had heard good things about the place. Our first impression as we pulled in the parking lot was that if we were not meeting someone here we would have pulled away. The parking is horrendous. The parking for the restaurant is hard to find and there are signs everywhere that if you park in the wrong spot (like anyone close to the entrance) you will be towed. After entering we discovered there was free valet parking. I suggest you use it. We had a very inexperienced server. She had to be asked multiple times for things, including basics like silverware. In fact, she brought out apps and left without supplying the utensils. We had excellent Persian bread with humus and some eggplant dish I couldn't remember the name of. Service was very slow, and we waited long enough for our entrees that we were late for the theater. I had the shrimp with grilled veggies. Very yummy and both well cooked and well-seasoned. I wish I had time to finish it. Our friend had the lamb shank which he said was good and my wife had the whitefish which was well prepared with a nice golden-brown sear, but under seasoned. All in all, we give this place 2.5 stars. The food was ok but the service and parking issues ruined the experience for us. We would probably try it again. The musical we saw however was phenomenal. Normally I wouldn't list all of the items in a buffet lune, bit the list is so short here. 4 rice dishes (1 veg), 4 trays of meat. Fallafel. Salad. Delightful Donuts. If you don't expect much, you won't be let down, but you won't go hungry. Awesome decor. I would throw an "Arabian nights" or "magic carpet ride" themed party here. This review is for orders from the menu only. We were seated in the right side room (coming in from the front door), which was very nice, much less hectic. There's a decent Persian slant to the menu choices, so you'll see a lot of familiar items. We started with the kashkeh bodemjan, which was decent. It was served with pita bread, but at least it was fresh. (Anyone know a good place to buy lavosh around here, help!) Wilted parsley, no other herbs; the radishes a bit old, but the feta was very good, and so were the soups. Hubby got his usual dish, a Barg, and he pronounced it good, but not real Barg. I usually get a Chengeh, but I wondered what a Shishleek was - it's just a Flintstones-sized version of the Chengeh. I ordered it rare, it came out medium, but it was very tender. Neither was particularly marinated or seasoned much, but it satisfied, so we were happy. The doogh was authentic enough. No faludeh, but that's ok. Despite the packed place, our server was pretty good about seeing to us, and nice enough. We'll be back. BTW, I don't do buffets, so I can't rate it. I made a thorough tour of all the available entrees, though, and I saw a few things that I might have considered trying, but most of it just reconfirmed my anti-buffet sentiments. They pushed the buffet, we were told that if one person ordered the buffet the whole table had to order the buffet. Nothing at the buffet was labeled the falafel was dry and tasteless, the waitress never brought water refills. When asked if we could split the bill the cashier told us no we couldn't.
