Drove over 30 minutes from Chicago to celebrate my dad's birthday here after the location in Andersonville closed. Unfortunately, we will definitely not be returning. Parking is confusing to find and is pretty far from the restaurant. The person at the front desk got us seated, but had earbuds in and didn't explain that it was buffet only - even though it shouldn't be. We sat for a few minutes waiting for menus until one of our party asked him if we could have some, and he said that it was buffet only, and that everything on the menu was at the buffet - also not true. But we drove over 30 minutes to get here and we were hungry so we decided to stay and eat anyways. The food was alright, but many of the buffet dishes were lukewarm or cold. The front desk worker did bring us water bottles, but did not ask us if we wanted anything else to drink - we noticed several other tables had drinks. The men's bathroom was in a sad state: both of the urinals were broken in some way (not flushing well), the men's stall lock was installed upside down, the soap dispensers at the sink were broken, as were several of the sink handles. The hand dryer barely worked and there were no paper towels. At the end, a 20% tip was also already included. For what, since we served ourselves, I don't know ‍ The bill was to be paid in cash only, even though there were no signs or warnings saying that was the case and there was a card reader in plain sight at the front desk. We had placed our order for pickup to-go. Requested extra butter and extra somak, received NONE. We requested plastic utensils for 2 people, received NONE; so we couldn't eat our meal. We paid for a bamieh dessert, received NONE. Place an online order for pickup today as we were having some friends over. After I placed the order I called them to ask them to serve food as family style. I also asked for some hot sauce as well. The guy who I talked to confirmed they would pack some for me when I got there. My dad went to pick up the food and the managers are all up in arms about the hot sauce and how we have to pay for it. Apparently it's only complimentary when you dine in! We just placed a $160 order and they can't throw in hot sauce!!! Super rude staff and manager. Not sure of her name. I don't mind paying for the hot sauce, but when I called, they said sure we can add no problem. No mention of additional charges and frankly this feels like such a petty charge. Let's talk about the food: We ordered the chicken kubediah, beef kubediah, and a few other dishes. Feels like the quality of food has really gone down in this location. 4 Stars for Food -- Reza's in Oakbrook is my go to restaurant for catering when hosting gatherings at my home. Their food is reasonably priced and always tasty. 1-2 Stars for Customer Service -- Absolutely no hospitality from anyone at this location. The staff generally seem to be unhappy and it shows with their attitude and lack of customer service. The (weekend) manager/host is a gentleman in his late 40's and I once had to witness him scream and humiliate someone from the kitchen. It didn't matter that they were not speaking English and that I could not understand -- It was incredibly uncomfortable to watch in any setting, much less in the hospitality environment. Further, the staff are disorganized. When ordering online, I've had to consistently wait 20-30 mins beyond the promised pick-up time. I could maybe understand if they were super busy, but that has never been the case. I love the food and would really like to see this business succeed. But for that to happen the owners will require some significant management changes. read more

I placed a very large order for pickup on 3/10/24. They were out of salmon that I ordered 3 serving of and replaced it with shrimp without notifying me. When I called to complain they said apologized and said they would refund the $89. They made no effort to make it right with some sort of coupon, only a refund. When I checked my credit card 2 days later, there was no credit. When I called to question them, they hung up twice. The place was quiet during Sunday brunch time but a few tables arrived, ate, and departed as we lingered to catch up with friends. Had to buy food from them for a catering. Upon walking in appeared dated and dirty. Staff was beyond rude at first and then mildly warmed up. Credit card machine didn't work. Make shift contraptions everywhere. Definitely filthy. Icing on the cake was the men's restroom. No running water to toilets. Urinal cakes and car air fresheners everywhere and water at hand washing station would not warm and barely came out. Strong indications of what the back of the house looks like. The apartment building looks rather ordinary, but the inside of the restaurant is large and on the ornate and fancy side. Went there with a group for the lunch buffet which around $16-$17. They had a variety of grilled kabob meat, along with other Persian and Mediterranean items. I liked the falafel and dessert items. The rice and koobideh grilled meats were okay, but the grilled chicken was dry and didn't taste fresh. A bit hit and miss, but that tends to be trend with most buffets. We were seated in a fairly nice dining area next to a buffet setup. The waitress was attentive and filled our drinks on a regular basis. The food was surprisingly good. They served chicken, beef and lamb kabobs. They had spicy and non-spices chicken. Rice pudding! And a bunch of other stuff I can't really name or describe. The items that had meat mixed with rice were very good. My only gripe is some of the food tasted like it had been sitting out awhile. It may have been slightly cool or dried out. None of the food was labeled and tacky additional fee signs were placed on the walls of the buffet area, which made everyone afraid to go back for seconds. No refills on water or soda were asked. If you live in the west suburbs and not in the mood to drive to Bridgeview to eat at al bawadi or fattoush, try to Reza's. I have been here too many times to count. Not sure if they have a buffet for lunch during the weekdays. They do have a Sunday brunch which has a variety of meats. You can't go wrong with ordering anything from the menu. Every time I go to Reza's the buffet taste the same, there is always one dish that out shines all the other dishes. This time I went the lamb roast was melting in your mouth, they perfected it. The other kabobs were good as well. In there weekend brunch, Reza's needs to have an omelet station. This would take the brunch experience to a whole new level. Now if you know me- you know that Middle Eastern food is not on the top of food I pick when I go out. Don't get me wrong- I like it- but it's just not one of those things I crave. But like most people- when the lunch bell rings and it's time for a mid day break, and you have eaten at every restaurant in the area at least a hundred times- you start looking for something new. Viola! Reza's. I had totally forgotten that it took over this space in the bottom of a condo building a few years back. And it's just a mile or so from the office! And they deliver for a mere $2.50! Middle Eastern- here I come! We ordered their chicken kabob wraps, feta, cucumbers and tomato salad, the dill and lima bean rice and these amazing honey puffs for dessert. The food came on time and was quite good. The play of flavors in the wrap were interesting on the tongue- parsley, pickles, sauce and of course their delicious chicken. Most of their dinner menu is available at lunch but since we were eating and working- we went with what could easily be eaten while still pushing papers around. I have heard some issues about the service from friends who have tried to get in and out for lunch in a reasonable amount of time and have waited a long time for their food. But in my book- I'd go with the delivery again at least for lunch. Got to love a place that has great tasting food that gets me out of the regular food rut along this stretch of the Oak Brook Corridor. You may notice a common theme of bad service/behavior among the staff in many of the recent reviews. There maybe a plausible explanation. The children of the individual who started this establishment now run the business. And they are enlightened...they will not put up with all these stupid customer demands and complaints. They've been brought up to be way above this. Have been here several times and each time there is some type of issue. This time, they got the order wrong...again. Last time, ordered online as i was in a time crunch and when i got there, they said they did not have any order...so i showed them my online order confirmation. Waited 25 minutes for the order to be prepared since i had already paid online. The only thing i can count on is horrible customer service with a large sprinkling of bluntly arrogant attitude. We just dined at Rezas this evening (4/21/23) and it was a terrible experience. We saw a cockroach crawl out of a plate of baklava and when we mentioned it to an employee at the restaurant, he didn't do anything. After watching him do nothing -- and seeing other patrons helping themselves to the baklava and eating it for at least 10 minutes -- we told another employee who didn't seem very upset or surprised about it and took her time removing this food. The food itself was subpar - not served hot and now I question the overall cleanliness of this restaurant. We will never be back to this restaurant and strongly discourage other people from eating here. read more
