We have been coming to this diner for over 20 years and today I walked out. I was furious. It took forever for someone to great us at the door. When someone finally did come, they took us to a table that had food chunks on its silverware. When I asked for a new set of silverware, the waitress kept passing it back to me, wiping it off with her fingers. When it came time to order I asked for French toast and scrambled eggs. I asked for it without milk or butter because I have recently developed a dairy allergy. The waitress told me no, that they couldn't make it without milk. I explained to her that it was an allergy and asked if they could make a separate batch. She went and got her manager who proceeded to look at me like I was crazy. "How do you make it without milk? No we don't do that." I've worked in the food industry for 13 years and I have never seen an establishment that wouldn't accommodate an allergy. I am never going back to such a poorly run business. Stopped in unexpectedly on a drive around the area. My boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised by the food - a Tuna Club and Turkey Wrap. I was pleasantly surprised during my recent visit. I hadn't been here in years. We were there for a late breakfast and the menu was as extensive as you'd expect for a diner. The service could have been better. It took a while after we were seated for a waitress to come over. She claimed she didn't know it was her table, but that's a terrible excuse in a place like that! She was kind of lackluster the whole time, but at least the food came out in a timely manner after she finally took our order. The pancakes were quite good as was the cheese omelet. The home fries could have been better. The lunch specials listed in the menu looked good and the prices looked reasonable, so I might be making a return visit. I live local and this is my go-to diner, best all around food, service and prices. Solid spinach and chicken salad, breakfast seems to be pretty solid, been 5-10 times in last couple years and always decent. Also 24 hours i believe, ive made the 4-5am trip here after the waterfront several times, and never dissapoints ! read more

This place has very nice decor and is very comfortable. Unfortunately, I was not impressed by the shrimp scampi and the chicken francese. They were virtually the same dish with only shrimp added. The green beans were pretty good though. And the house salad had very fresh broccoli. read more

This place is one of my favorite spots. My wife and I love it here. It's the perfect place to go when you don't know what you want, it's clean, staff is friendly, prices are good an the food is even better, and there's no leaving on an empty stomach! I have been coming to this place since i was a child i am now in my mid 20s and i can truly say nothing has changed at all! Always very welcoming so kind and sweet and try to their best to make curtain foods for me since i am not able to eat much/ have a strict diet! But they always seem to leave pleased! and it strikes me to see what someone had wrote up above! Clearly they didn't know that their was a 'FIRE" a month ago and that is why the wall looked like that and i'm pretty much sure that they can not vacuum on tile that the vacuum would of been on the whole other end of the restaurant! But Hey, what would i know i just been going there for years with my grandparents/ parents and now my own family. I haven't seen my mother in 20 years. She has been battling Mesothelioma for quite a while. After a round of her chemo and some surgery, I decided to commute from the city up to her nursing home near New Windsor to spend a nice thanksgiving with her. We had a great thanksgiving. That is until we went to the coach. We decided to get breakfast here because, I'll be honest, the Lexus diner was full. My mother decided to get an omelette. I don't know how you mess up an omelette, but they pulled it off. It was dry, burnt, and I the cheese was not inspected, I'll be honest. The bread was alright, but then again, they don't make the bread. I ordered the Mexican burger, I always finish a burger when I order one...not this time. The Mexican burger was like the Vietnam War. It was a bad decision from the start, that turned in to a quagmire, and in the end everyone got screwed. They put so much grease on the onions, the rest of the sandwich was soaked, like a god damn rain coat, disappointed. My brother ordered the Texas burger, it too was disgusting. Appearance-wise it was nice looking but the cheese was rancid. The burger patties were clearly frozen but this is a diner after all they cant be expected to provide fresh food. They were also under-cooked and greasy, I don't know how the "chef" lives with himself. Just go somewhere else. The decor is dated and the food is lousy, the service is sub par, etc. all reasons to avoid this place. They have their regulars and if you are not one of them you will be treated as such. They are not even trying anymore. They could try to separate themselves by serving a few signature dishes or anything but they just come with the same menu from 1963. read more

I am shocked to read the good reviews about this abismal place. We went there for dinner tonight and it was awful. First we were sat next to a gapping whole in the wall. It looked like they had some insect infestation or sever mold rot. Next I had to send my wrap back because there was a piece of dirty paper or tissue in the melted cheese. Then the proceeded to vaccum around our table while we were eating kicking up dust and debris. When we finally asked to speak to someone, a very unpleasant blonde woman came to the table and said "you have something to say to me? ". When we explainex the situation not only was she uninterested in any type of customer service but she also got very rude. She ended up yelling at us and saying she didn't care if we came back. I believe she was drunk or otherwise intoxocated. We later learned she was the daughter of the owner! I can't believe this is a family run place. What kind of ownet would allow this type of behavior?!? From their own daughter none the less. This place is dirty and trashy, and though our waitress was very nice, the sheer trashiness of the owners daughter has ensured we will never go back. My GRADE F 7/21/13 I've been a frequent customer to this diner because I live locally. But NOT after today's visit. Since it is a diner, I almost always order the burgers. Today I went with my son. He ordered a grilled cheese and I ordered a cheese burger deluxe. I really enjoy the burgers here. As I was eating my burger, I noticed a tiny bug on the lettuce. I removed it and didn't think anything of it. (Summer day) I checked my burger and it was fine. As I was waiting for my fries to cool off, I was moving my lettuce around on my plate. Notice another bug. I stopped eating, looked closer and realized it was a baby ANT. I looked in my napkin and there was an ant as well. Called waitress over and told her, that I knew now, the KITCHEN STAFF was NOT washing the lettuce and they were ants back there. She took the plate away, talked to the manager and he didn't charge me for the deluxe. (Only the burger $3) Are you serious? When she came back, I looked down at my place mat and sure enough there was another baby ant. My stomach turned. I told the owner, YOU HAVE ANTS BACK THERE because there's no such thing as 3 baby ants. There's always a lot when they are born. Needless to say, he then removed my $3 charge and still charged me for my sons meal. I may have had a few ANTS with my meal but maybe I can save you. .Buyer beware.
