I need to buy more next time. Think deli counter meets every kind of Middle Eastern cuisine. They have hot stuff, they have cold stuff, they have sweets... and they have tables. Oh, and reasonable? I finally came back for the food. There was an elder couple ahead of me and the patriarch was positively gushing. On the wall inside, it says " There is no sincerer love than the love of food." Amen to that. The place is legit-I think they were playing the Qur'an over the speakers. Usually, I am put off by people putting their religion out there but I had a meal to eat. I saw their cafeteria/deli-style set up and went all out. I had their shish kafta, which they grilled on the spot-great call. I had a spinach empanada thing at a feeble attempt to eat healthy-that was not bad. Of course I bought dessert. The pistachio baklava and the phyllo dessert were both superlative. read more

New Yasmeen provides fantastic baked goods. I stop here every time I am in Dearborn, because I cannot resist the smell of the Za'atar bread, the friendly and fast employees, and the weirdo (to me) selection of non alcoholic malted beverages. My typical order includes but is not limited to: Baba Ganough, Mini Pizzas, sanbousik (the cheese and parsley is unreal) Za'atar bread and cheese bread (which is thrown in the oven quickly and devoured almost immediately), a meat pie, a spinach pie, and a broccoli pie (the broccoli is my favorite!), and tabouli. After selecting one of the aforementioned strange beverages, which often make my gums tingle, the total never ends up to be more than 17 dollars or so. This is certainly enough for a few meals for myself, and is excellent to share for a picnic or a snack with friends. I've never tried the shawarma, but I see people order it in droves around lunchtime. Speaking of which, even if it is busy and you take a number, I have never had to wait more than five minutes to get prompt and understanding service. If you are confused by something in their display case, the employee will tell you about it. If you can't pronounce something, don't feel bad about asking. I'm sure they get it all the time. You really can't go wrong here- if you have someone to impress, this is the place to go. Take them or bring it to them, they will be happy. Just don't eat it all on the drive home. read more

Holy crap! I don't even like sweets, and I was in love with this place. We ordered a variety of sweet and savory items and loaded up a box and half of goodies. We get to the register and I'm expecting a $25+ bill. And then I hear something insane like "That'll be eleven dollars and thirty two cents." And I'm thinking there must be some mistake. But there was no mistake - I watched her key in everything we ordered. Mind=blown. Ok even besides the ludicrously low prices, the food is great!! Excellent flavors, all freshly made. We had a variety of stuffed pitas, cannoli, cakes, pastries, etc. I don't know the name of anything I had, but I order with my eyes anyway. They also offer hot foods like fried and baked kibbie along with grape leaves and stuffed cabbage plus all the salads. They also have bread with haloumi cheese and zataar. And the pita is made fresh. I've always bypassed NYB for Shatila when driving down Warren looking for baked goods. But the lunchtime options at Shatila are limited to greasy, pastry-like items, and I was in the mood for a sandwich, a falafel sandwich. And what a sandwich it was! I have been going mostly to Hamido for sandwiches. While the falafel is really good there, the service takes some time and the parking lot is small, and a it's pain to exit. At NYB, the service was really really quick. The parking is ample. And the falafel, my god the falafel, it was sooooooooooooo good. And the bread is better than that at Shatila. The sandwich also includes pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, and tahini. I was very tempted by the wide variety of sweets and drinks, but did not bow down to my saccharine urges. I will probably indulge when I return. I'm definitely going to be back for more falafel. read more

Sure you can get cheese bread in any of the dozens of middle eastern bakeries dotted around town, but none comes close to goodness of Yasmeen's heavenly rendition. Other items are aplenty and good too, personal favs include dandelion salad (tender greens sauteed with onion and olive oil), baked kibbee, fresh-made-in-front-of-your-eyes chicken shawarma sandwich. Unfortunately, i had one of the worst experiences at New Yasmeen Bakery. The chicken fajitas I ordered was horrible, the chicken was crunchy, old and had a zina7 taste. The spinach pie had great seasoning, however the bread was stale. Moral of the story, I would never go during the week again. They survived me leftover food from the weekend. I have visited in the past during the weekend and the food was decent. Customer service was not up to par either. Skip if it's a weekday visit. read more

Been going here for years, but I just tried the fatteh on a recommendation from another customer and really enjoyed it. It is a yogurt stew with beef, chick peas, and nuts. It is served with crispy pita chips. Also, the chicken shawarma wrapped in pita with a pickle and white garlic sauce is only three dollars and is very tasty and filling. My husband always gets their lahmahjoon which is $1.99 a piece. We buy them by the dozen and freeze them. read more

New Yasmeen Bakery is an institution in Dearborn - like its other competitors (Shatilla, etc) this has been around the block for a very long time with very humble beginnings and now ships its delectable baked goods around the world - especially their unmistakable pita bread that I have even seen at Korean grocery stores. At this actual retail outlet, there is a wide variety of baked goods like meat pies, pastries, deserts, and groceries - all of which are very very delicious. We bout several bags of the pita bread to take home - wish I would have brought more. The pasties and deserts are nice - slightly more on the baked goods more so than the other stuff that Shatilla specializes in like Baklawa and Knafa, etc. I will definitely say that the interiors are screaming for an updates - especially the restrooms - would come a long way to do a massive update to the main dining room. Make it into a café with pendant lighting, dark wood walls, and shiny wood floors. This could make it into a much more palatable experience overall. I like this place. It opens early so I can stop on my way to work. The facility is clean and well stocked. There are a lot of delicious pastries to choose from. I am a huge fan of the cheese bread and pies. They do not have any parking that I can see. There is free 15 min parking out front but there are only a few spaces so do expect to get a spot. The people are nice as well I had questions about the food because I was not familiar with everything and they answered them all nicely and patiently. Basically when I need a fresh delicious carb fix, This is one of my go to places. Oh did I mention the prices are great. I got enough pastries for my entire department ( about 40 people) for about 30 bucks. Can't beat that!! Try this place out! read more

Had one for lunch and then got three more to go , three meat breads and stewed spinach/ meat in a tangy broth- heavenly delish) for lunch dinner for the rest of the week. Love this place. I live in Clinton Twp, and New Yasmeen has me making frequent trips down to Dearborn for the shawarma alone. I've never had a bad experience here. The desserts are delicious too, try the chocolate teacup filled with milk and white chocolate mousse...MMmmm...Mousse. Any who, Can't beat the prices..I can get 3 small spinach pies, 3 small meat pies, a chicken shawarma wrap and a beef shawarma wrap for around 10 bucks. Can't beat that, my friends. I always love going here when I need a fast lunch. The meat and spinach pies are the greatest! As well as the Cheese and Zatar bread...they warm it up for you so it's never cold. As a bakery it is par excellence but that's not all, the shop is filled with Middle Eastern general merchandise and savories. Realistically it lives in the shadow of the more famous Shatila next door but I have no reason to believe that the quality of the bakeries is any lower. Truth be told the selection of pastries is about half of Shatila and it does not have as an aesthetically pleasing of an interior but perhaps that's what gives it more of the hole-in-the-wall underdog charm. read more

Visiting the bakery is an extraordinary experience if you've never been to a middle eastern bakery; in which i haven't. There offer so many different things to look at. This bakery had started as a quiant shop and has now expanded and taken over several previous shops before. We came here for their cheese bread. They offer a variety of breads as well as sandwiches; schwarma, etc. We ordered the Za'atar, meat, and cheese bread. All three of these are all made to order and fresh. The best bread has to be the cheese bread. You get it and it's so soft and cheesy. The cheese melts and it's a delicious amalgamation of all things good. This is doubly delicious if you love a nice doughy pice of bread which is also cheesy. A must visit if you're in the area. The breads are incredible. read more

I love this place and it's been consistently good since I was a kid. My mom used to take my sister and I there for a cheese pie after running errands some times. The older man that worked there (and still does) would always give us a free cookie, and that bought him some very loyal customers. I think I made 4 visits here over a 2 day period! I tried a zaatar and a meat pie for breakfast. Not my usual breakfast style, but it did not disappoint! The bread was SOOOO soft on the zaatar pie, and the flavors were perfect on the meat pie! I grabbed a late lunch of 2 sandwiches- shish tawook and shawarma. Both were delicious! I think the shawarma was my favorite, though! The meat was super tender and all the flavors of the sauce and pickled vegetables made my a tasty experience! In my 2 days of visiting so often, I got to interact with many of the staff. I tried to pronounce the foods I was ordering in Arabic (I literally know zero Arabic, except for my sad attempts at pronouncing food!), and they were great about not only understanding me but also laughing with me and even giving me pointers for how to order in Arabic better in the future. You order at a deli counter from a large selection of prepared food, bakery items, smoothies/fresh juice, sandwiches, entree meals and grocery items. I came to this resturant in the late morning for some breakfast pastries(mo3ajanat) The Manaeesh with tea is to die for. Service is great staff are very friendly. Only one little issue is that the food was not hot. It was warm and delicious we didn't want to take it back to them to heat up(which they would have been very happy to heat up for us). My friend (an expert when it comes to Middle Eastern cuisine) took me here during our lunch break to try a whole assortment of food and it was incredible! The fried kibbeh and meat pie with cheese were delicious. I am not usually a fan of lamb at all, but I could barely taste the gameyness of it. Surprisingly, the rice with slivers of almonds and meat was one of my favorite dishes even though it looks so ordinary. The fattoush is pretty standard, as were the grape leaves. The spinach and meat pies were as good as it gets! For dessert we had cornbread, which was a wonderful way to top off the meal. It wasn't too sweet, like baklava can be, and there was the taste of cashews infused in it, making it very aromatic. I'll definitely be back! read more

Love it! Manooshe (spelling) sort of pizza, type sandwich is really good, but sometimes hit or miss regarding how generous they are with the cheese. Mashroohah (spelling) is mouth watering. The staff for the most part is friendly and helpful. The sweets they make are okay, not world shaking but tasty. They also serve hot food which I haven't tried except for the shawarma which was mediocre and not very generous. I think they excel at the manooshe!! We come from Toledo for just that! New Yasmeen has been a staple for my family for as long as I can remember. I used to be so excited when my father would bring home cheese bread and spinach pies.
