We got there and immediately Sara was extremely accommodating. Our order came out very timely and everything tasted fantastic. There were 12 of celebrating our friend's 60 birthday from Los Angeles and phoenix, in between the group of us, we had pizza, chicken, wings, salad, and a muffaletta sandwich; olive, which were outstanding. Went in on a Wednesday night around 11 pm to the bar side, the connecting restaurant to the right of it was already shut down. This little dive bar right in the middle of Magazine st. was exactly what we were looking for. Had maybe a total of like 12 bar seats and very minimal seats on the floor but it was the dive bar we were wanting. We got two pints and a slice of pepperoni to start off with. Our bartender Ethan was so kind, attentive and took really good care of us. But YALL, this pizza was easily one of the best solo slices I've ever had. Keep in mind this is New York style so a single slice better be the size of my face, and it hit the mark! The crust was thin but was able to hold straight. Hands down the best bite was the first one at the tip. It was so incredibly crunchy from being heated up/re-cooked to order.... #flavor town. It definitely had the grease layer on top but I didn't mind. Good amount of toppings and cheese layer without making the crust soggy. We ended up staying for 2 more rounds plus two more slices of pizza. Next time I'm back in NOLA this will hands down be my go-to pizza destination!!!! Stopped in late on a Saturday night. Customer service was extreme great, the cashier was very sweet, friendly, and informative. We ordered a half and half pizza. I'm not a fan of thin crust pizzas at all and didn't realize it was only thin crust here. The pizza was still extremely good and didn't take too long. I have some friends who live near this spot and they always insist on coming here lol. It has a dive bar feel when you come in. I don't know what it is but the pizza is never hot enough. This is one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. Small veggie pizza and a Peroni for $32.58 before tip?! Yikes. Deanna was really sweet. But the wait was insane. My friend had a slice and I was told that the wait for mine would be longer and that was fine. But over 1 hour to wait was a bit much. The pizza crust was awful, super dry like a cracker. New York Pizza will always be a little nostalgic for me because it was the last restaurant meal I had before the world shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic (see previous review). I can say that New York Pizza is still... fine. It's not going to blow your mind, it's not something you're going to crave, but it's open late, it's convenient, and I love the divey atmosphere. The bartenders are always nice and there's a surprisingly large beer selection. The pizza is indeed thin crust, but I can't vouch for the quality of ingredients in the crust or toppings. They do have shakers of oregano, Parmesan, and red pepper flakes, to doctor up your pizza. And they still do the slice and a pint special! read more

So New York Pizza is divided up into two sides so as you face the building they have a restaurant side on the right and a bar side on the left. You can get food on both sides but each side has different hours. I've been eating in this location since before New York Pizza even moved into this building. This spot was actually the last place I ate at right before Hurricane Katrina hit the area. I was always a fan of New York Pizza at their old location and I followed them here when they moved into this current location. In fact I have been far more than just a fan as I used to absolutely love this joint as they had one of the best deals in the city with their $5 pint and slice deal where you could get a pint of beer and slice of pizza! I also really used to enjoy the fact that this place stayed open later at night so you would often find quite a decent crowd of folks in here enjoying some pints and pizza. Unfortunately the insane inflation we have been experiencing ended up killing that amazing deal which had lasted a very long time. The end of that deal also seems to have resulted in fewer folks frequenting this place as often as they used to so they also tend to often close earlier these days. This is still one of the better spots to get some later in the evening/night food and they are also open for lunch as well. They do tasty pizza, lasagna, ravioli etc. and everything else I've had has been very good here. read more

The pizza was good, thin cracker like crust. We ordered the house salad, which would've been a large salad, they were nice enough to split it between 2 plates. The server suggested the Italian/House dressing, which was very good. It was the thickest dressing I've ever had, very unique. Worst service I've ever had in my life. We waited 45 minutes for 1 pepperoni pizza without any complaints. We ordered multiple drinks while we waited. The waitress approached us with a slice of pizza and said "for your wait" we said " we would rather just have our pizza." The waitress then said "can't believe you're complaining about ordering a pizza on a Saturday at 12." It was a Friday, at 10. Tried this place to see if they had decent pizza in the city. Ordered a three toppings, garlic sauce large pizza, cost about $33. The pizza was very dry, devoid of any moisture in the sauce or cheeze. Toppings weren't great either, chicken was very bland. A whole to-go styrofoam container. The dressing a little sweeter than most, but still had a good kick. The croutons seem to be made on site. They also were a little sweet, and had good seasoning. Salad gets a 5/5. Pizza was probably the first to be made fo the day, so it's probably as good as it gets. I added minced garlic, mushrooms and onions. Super thin and crunchy crust (it broke at the edge when I folded it in half). Light on the sauce and cheese. Healthy amount of toppings. Pizza gets 3/5 stars. It was good, but not life changing. Anytime I am running errands and get hungry or need a light lunch because I have a big dinner planned, pizza by the slice at New York Pizza is always where I end up. It's conveniently located on Magazine and there's always easy parking nearby. For like $3 you stop in and get a giant slice of very tasty pizza! Usually I just go for the basic cheese bc the flavors are just so good and the cheese is so stringy The staff is always so incredibly nice too. There's always a few locals at the bar when I stop in. You might have to wait a couple minutes for a fresh slice, but it's worth it. And if you're in the area late night, Buddha Belly across the street is a really fun bar. You could make a night of it. You can take one look at that picture to see there's not enough flavor on them and when I asked for additional sauce to add myself I was informed they actually use a seasoning mix. I ordered a Medium (12") Pepperoni Pizza from this place for dinner and I was somewhat disappointed by the quality for its price. The pizza was greasy and the crust was kind of soggy. I was also told my pizza would be out within 15 minutes, but it took much longer even though there was only 1 other person in the restaurant. They did have a $5 pint and slice all-day special that I would consider coming back for, since it seems like a much better deal. Overall, the pizza here is average but kind of pricey. This used to be my go to place for pizza. When we ordered pizza this evening, the pizza box was left outside and roaches crawled into it. At least three popped out when we opened the box. When we called the store to complain, they refused to take any responsibility. Can you imagine anything more disgusting than having roaches pop out of your pizza box? And to not have any sympathy or volunteer to send a new pizza or at least apologize is unacceptable. I probably have ordered pizza from them at l least 20 times.
