The staff are extremely helpful, and the salads are amazing. CROUTONS ARE THE BEST IVE EVER HAD! Every time I go (at least once a week) I get the large Cobb salad. Their ranch dressing is deliciously homemade and the food is all around good. I feel like $10 for a meal is best spent on a large and plentiful salad, the sandwiches are on the small side but they are good, and the pizzas are delicious too. Greatest thing about this place? They give college student discounts! If you come in after 5pm (I think) and show you ID (to any college) and get a free drink (normally $2) and you can buy any pizza on the menu for $5! I've only been here once, so this is from that small perspective. I was there for lunch with a colleague. Parking was plentiful but not close to the main door. Apparently there is a side door closer to parking, but then you need to walk through the tables to get to the order counter. I had the half and half: small salad (the Simply - a garden salad) and half sandwich (turkey). My colleague had one of the large salads. Food was tasty - nothing exceptional but solid for what it was, and it was delivered quickly to our table. All in all a good lunch experience, though Blue Baker still beats it in my book. read more

NOTORIETY: Fast casual cafe chain FOOD: Shrimp po boy ($9.60 before tax): Not that big of a sammy, maybe 8 in or so. The bread was soft, the shrimp tender & came w/ lettuce, onions, tomatoes, & pickles. Pretty good flavor, good sammy overall. Pimento mac n' cheese: One of the better mac n' cheeses that I've had. Semi-al dente macaroni combined w/ melted, stringy cheese. Not too cheesy & the pimento added some mild, yet welcomed flavor. OVERALL: Newk's is a slightly pricey restaurant, but does serve good food. I'd come back again, but not that often b/c of the price. My only suggestion to the manager would be to make the side items more visible to customers as I wasn't able to easily see that on their menu. RECOMMENDATION: Pimento mac n' cheese TIP: 1. Great lunch spot. I love their potato soup, I just wish they could serve it everyday. I have tried many different things there and the chicken salad sandwich is my favorite menu item for sure. The half sandwich and salad or soup is a good lunch portion. However, sometimes on the caesar salad there is too much dressing. I still love this place and eat there all the time. :-) read more

I enjoyed it. The sandwich i got, "Q" something er other, was rather bland, but I did get a whiff of horseradish which I certainly appreciate. Once you eat here, you will be back. I find it funny that another review said the same thing I did; which is, I tried it once and went back 3 more times in less than a week. Overkill? Only on the wallet. The food is a bit pricey, but when you consider the ingredients and amount of "expensive" items they put on their sandwiches and salads, the price is validated. Underwhelming, had the potato soup and salad combo. Both dishes were not that great. On the positive side, service was speedy.

I really enjoyed my visit here. It was clean and there were many workers milling about. There is a small condiment bar with pickles, jalapenos and other peppers, hot sauces, and unremarkable breadsticks. The tea was pretty tasty as was our meal. The only thing I wish is that you could get whatever salad you want for the half sandwich/salad combo, rather than house or caesar only. I'd rather pay a few extra bucks and get what I want. This restaurant had been recommended to me by family, so I ordered The Debra pizza & half salad. The pizza was not the greatest because the chicken was hard & dry.
