This place is a ***show. Understaffed. Orders are backed up 30+ minutes. Only one person working in the middle of a Sunday lunch hour and they are running between the register and the back. I can't recommend going anywhere else more than this unless you want to wait an unknown amount of time to maybe get food. Management, wake up. Newks has really gone downhill. The last two times I've been here the same cashier has been rude. They got rid of the amazing daily soups, and the food is subpar. I had driven by Newk's for over a year wondering what kind of restaurant it was. Never heard of it. A deli? Pizza place? Never bothered to check it out until recently. So what is Newk's? Panera Bread without the bakery and with a more upscale dining room and a larger menu. This place is really great. On a weekday afternoon, it is loaded with business types from Hall Office Park across the street. The menu focuses on sandwiches, salads, lots of soup choices and Pizza. The condiment bar offers free croutons, peppers, pickles, breadsticks and other items...all you want. I went with the "try two" type menu (same thing I do at Panera Bread) with soup (crawfish pepper jack) and the half Newk sandwich. I found an open table and sat in the area where take out orders are picked up. Business at the take out is brisk. Customers just walk in the take out door, glance at the waiting bagged orders, and grab theirs and go. So order on line, pay on line and you are in and out in about ten seconds. I fired up my iPhone assuming there would be a wait for my order. Before I could even start, here comes my order. To say service is fast is an understatement. How is the food. Well, really good. The "small" soup is really a bowl size serving. The half sandwich is a little small, but certainly enough, even for me. So, should you try this? Absolutely. This was my first time at any Newk's location, there is one closer to my home on Parker. I ordered the Italian sandwich, it was decent - no complaints. What got me was the young lady taking orders...she whispered, I had to ask her to repeat herself several times and she leaned on the counter instead of standing up - very off putting; the customers must be boring her. I placed my order then tried to look for a table. The large booth was empty and needed cleaning. When I found a booth I had to clean the seat before sitting. It was 4:00pm when we arrived and the large booth was dirty and empty. Several people came in looking for a booth to turn away and sit at a table. I've never been treated with such blatant disrespect at any restaurant (including fast food) in my life. I called in a to-go order around 8:35, had to wait for my Fiancé to get off work, showed up to Newk's at 8:59. All doors were locked so I got the attention of someone and told them I had a to-go order and proceeded to the counter. First, I greeted the cashier and I sincerely apologized for showing up at 9 because I could see the upset/annoyed look on the woman's (Cashier) face. She didn't respond to me, never looked at me, or acknowledged that I was even there. She held out her hand and didn't say anything, so I gave her the debit card and she immediately swiped it, before I could hand her my coupon (that brought me into Newk's for the first time). She fixed the order and gave me the card, didn't say anything, handed me the food, still didn't say anything, and I walked out. Look I understand that I came in late and that's not cool, but like an adult, I apologized to her. Nobody should ever treat another person (let alone a first time customer) like that; it's just so disrespectful. The woman was wearing a grey polo shirt. This was my second visit to this location. I ordered the seasonal special Red White and Blue Salad. I'm not a huge fan of spinach but this salad was really good. Lots of Chicken, Feta, Strawberries, blueberries and watermelon! I ran out of spinach before i ran out of the toppings. The vinaigrette with really good too!! I've been to other Newk's before and I am a fan. This particular location needs help. We visited at 1:30pm on a Saturday and had to wait an extended period for a cashier to take our order...she was in the back getting cups but never acknowledged our extended wait. After placing our order and heading to get sodas I noticed how dirty the restaurant was...numerous tables need to be bussed, crumbs on cleared tables, and trash on the floor. The standards could be better. I watched the team work. It was a classic situation of a leadership / standards void. They had enough people working but the clarity of roles, pace, and standards with which the front of the house worked were sub-par On the positive side...I ordered a small cauliflower crust pepperoni pizza...it was served up quickly and was delicious. Within minutes I received an email for my coupon for a free slice of cake. Days later, I received another coupon for a free iced tea! So the other day, i went to collect my goodies! I called ahead and placed a Phone order, Alison was so wonderful and helpful and very cheery! She helped me with everything and even added all my coupons! I ordered the salmon Caesar salad, the steak sandwich, chocolate cake, strawberry cake, the roasted corn and pulled pork soup, and the loaded potato soup. My friends and I were in heaven! The first time I had it, it had too much dressing, the second time I asked they bring it on the side and I was much happier. Once I had a pre-prepared salad from their take out counter, also satisfying. This place is an office mainstay. Service: order at the front counter and they bring you your food. Not full service, but always quick with the food, and friendly. May be a small line if you get there right at noon, so shoot for 11:30 so your less likely to wait if you can... Unbelievable, Newk's has discontinued their fantastic chicken tortilla soup! At one point it was only available on Fridays, then they made it available every day but as of the first of the year 2021 it's not available at all. So good! I came here for lunch today after I found out this location was close to my job. I ordered my food online which was very easy and by the time I got there my food was packed up and ready to go. I ordered the half smoked ham sandwich and the crab and lobster bisque and it was the perfect amount for lunch. The smoked ham sandwich was unquestionably the best ham sandwich I've ever had, plenty of flavorful ham, cheese and creamy type mustard/mayonnaise sauce with lettuce and tomato on perfect french bread, my mouth is watering just thinking about it, lol. Instead of calling the bisque crab and lobster they should call it the essence of lobster and crab bisque because I saw not one lump of lobster or crab in that bisque but don't get me wrong, the flavor is there, it was delicious and still piping hot after I'd brought it back to work. I was looking for a deli that had soup and came across Newk's in Frisco. It's a very clean facility, the people are very friendly, food is fresh and the menu is full of surprises. I had the tomato basil soup and pimento/cheese sandwich combo. It was very tasty. Also, I'm very finicky about the tea and they had great brewed ice tea. I'll definitely be returning soon. It was my first time at this location because I just happened to be nearby at the mall before coming here. I normally go to the location in Plano but found out that this location was new. It was slightly hard to find because it is in a complex where there isn't much and so I passed by it the first time and had to u turn to get back to it. I came on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm for lunch and it was pretty busy. I found out that on Sundays and Saturdays, you can get 99 cent kids meals with a purchase of an adult meal. This was exciting because my friends little brother came with us this day which worked out. I am signed up for thier emails and sometimes they send coupons and this time I got a BOGO free. So me and my friend ordered and we tried to get our kids meal for 99 cent but it didnt work for some reason so we ended up paying full for it but thays okay because we got a free meal still with our coupon. All the tables were a bit dirty because there did not seem like there were enough employees to clean fast enough for the amount of people that came abd ate that day. However, one nice young man came and cleaned a table for me and my friend quickly and we were able to grab our drinks and sit. The food came out pretty quick which was great because I was starving. I ordered a Newks Q with lobster bisque and my friend got the Italian with lobster bisque. The bread that came on my sandwich and my friends seemed a little under toasted because it was so white but the food still tasted good. My friend said that there was one meat in the Italian that was a bit rough and stringy but he couldn't pinpoint what it was. I thought my sandwich was pretty good except that I asked for my bbq sauce on the side (which they gave me extra on the side) but it was still on the sandwhich. I think I prefer the plano location better. I think this place was just so busy that they were trying to get food out quickly. Overall not a bad experience and will be back soon! read more

I really love the Newks in Dallas. This one not so much. The portions were tiny. Not a good thing when you spend over $10.00 and leave still hungry. The cashier was not that friendly. We come here a lot and they are super nice but always get our order wrong. My husband called the manager because he has a tomato allergy and asked for sandwich wo tomatoes and they made it with tomatoes. The manager was super disrespectful and didn't give him any kind of refund or goodwill gesture. No one followed up to ask about how we liked the food. Customer service is 3 on a scale of 1-10. If someone had asked about the food they may have saved a customer.
