I had high hopes for this place because I have heard great things. But, in reality, the to-go service was sloppy and the food was a step below ok...We had the club sandwich, turkey avocado sandwich and mac and cheese. My club was dry and void of taste. My girlfriend said her turkey avocado was salty. We both thought the mac and cheese had no taste. The best thing about the meal was the Lay's potato chips!...I do plan to give them the benefit of the doubt and try the pizza and salad on my next visit. Went there today for a light lunch. Nothing we ordered was correct, told the girl that brought out the food and she got a smart attitude and told me you can't say what you want on something that we have. Bread type was wrong on one of the sandwiches, the other was toasted and was not supposed to be and my salad have stuff in it that I did not order. I ask for the salad to be just refunded and not remade, she still continued to have a smart attitude and her and the other staff member thought it was funny. Went to the Manager, he did try, but at this point it was too late. The entire staff were very unprofessional. And this store is advertising under nee management, it needs new staff as well. The food is always great but they seem to be very understaffed. They often forget items you order and sometimes get it wrong. Also, every time I come here you are waiting a very long time for your food even if you call ahead which I can almost never get through. After another 5 minutes, I went to the owner to say that I'd like to get my order, he yelled around me to the floor Mgr (Moose) to ask if she was taking care of it. 5 Minutes later, the owner brought my sandwich, placed it on the table and didn't say a word! We wanted pizza on a Friday night but didn't want to fight a busy restaurant. Thought we'd give Newk's a try. The staff was friendly. The dining room was clean. The pizza was decent. (Sort of like a flat bread pizza) I tried the pepperoni & sausage. The sausage had great flavor but wasn't spicy. My husband tried the barbecue chicken pizza. They used barbecue sauce - as the sauce - then had thinly sliced chicken on top with cheese. My husband was disappointed that it wasn't barbecued chicken but said it still tasted ok. 2 people with 2 fountain drinks was roughly $26. I've never heard of Newk's before today when a friend highly recommended it for lunch. Great menu of pizzas, salads, sandwiches, and soups. Most everything is under $10 too. I tried the pepperoni and sausage personal pizza and it was great! Clean restaurant, friendly staff, and even the manager took time to ask each table how was everything. Restaurant was pretty packed by noon on Friday, and it seems to be a popular location for moms and their toddlers. There is an outdoor patio with a grassy area where all the kids where running around laughing and carrying on. The only downside was it did take around 25 minutes to get our food, but considering the volume of customers they had, we didn't mind too much. I have been to Newks several times and I have to say they are a fantastic place. We have gotten several of the sandwiches and each has been excellent as were the sides. The Mac-N-Chese is to die for as are the salads which are my favorite. The Shrimp and Avocado salad is fresh and delicious and very "clean" if you are dieting all the time like me. Their online ordering is excellent and the order is ready for pick up in about 10 minutes. I have only eaten their food as take out however I am confident if their take out is this good, the in house experience will be as well. Great place. read more

This place is proficient in hiring the dumbest staff they can find. I ordered a sandwich and asked for fruit as the side time but requested no pineapple in it. The cashier told me she would be right back. She goes to the kitchen area and lols at my request with her co-workers and then comes back to the register with the manager. Why does something like this require input from management? Anyway, I repeat my request to the manager who says "we would have to touch the fruit to get the pineapple out, so we can't do it." I stare at her blankly and she stares back. I then tell them to cancel the whole order and I leave, vowing to never return. I have learned not to argue with idiots. After hearing a lot of good things about Newk's I thought I'd give it a try. I now realize those people were not my friends. Who wouldn't get a nice healthy salad for the same number of calories as a late night binge session at five guys or Krystal burger? Literally, everyone. The food looks good, which is pretty amazing since they've found someway to sneak scoops of mayonnaise into everything. Most of the salad dressings have roughly the same amount of calories as a Big Mac. This kind of food sorcery is why Americans are so fat. "Hey, I got a salad." I came in for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. There were no more than 6 people who were already eating. I ordered a simple salad and a 1/2 sandwich with no tomatoes (allergy). They bring the food and I realize it has tomatoes so they say they will fix it. Ten minutes go by no sandwich, so I go check and they had not even started. Ten more minutes go by and a guy brings a sandwich only to realize its the wrong sandwich. Another 10 minutes go by and I check again only to over hear a tall male manager say they didn't know where it went so they threw it out, at this point there is only 1 person here who was already eating. They say it will be another 10-15 minutes. When it finally comes, I check it and you guessed it it has tomatoes. I walk up to a manager (brown skin young women with a low fade haircut) and just ask for a refund. She grabs the food and slams it in the trash can as if she has an attitude. She said not a single word to me, no apology or anything. This entire time I was very respectful and patient so to receive this treatment from a manager I was very disappointed. I was very excited to try Newk's because I've heard great reviews but my experiences has left me less than pleased. The only reason they get 2 stars is because the cashier was really sweet and tried her best but I guess its hard to give amazing customer service when you have managers who are so rude and don't care. I went there today and ordered a grilled chicken sandwich for dinner. The sandwich was fine, but in the corner booth I saw a teen couple getting intimate. I had no problem with that until they eventually got up and the girl began zipping up her pants and buttoning them. Then they both started working, one at the counter and the other preparing food. We love Newk's at other locations, but this location is disappointing. The staff was not very friendly, but the main thing that bothered me was how dirty it was. I noticed the staff picking up plates on tables after guests had left (quite a bit of time before) and they didn't bother to wipe any of the tables down. Never came back to do it either, there was filth all over the tables. Trash on ground and even in the bathrooms there was paper all over the floor. It's disappointing, as we love the food here. Food is always good and so is service. With that said, we art here tonight 6/26/2019. My wife noticed they charged us $4.19 for a kids meal when the menu clearly says 3.89. We would have let it go except they messed up with the drinks as well. So when we brought it to their attention, they made the drink problem right, but wanted to argue about the difference in the kids meals. We were told the computers had been updated and somehow that made it all ok. So after arguing back and forth the manager finally corrected it. The point is not the .30, but the fact that the manager argued with us when the menu clearly stated the kids meals were 3.89. We will eat here again, but we will be double checking our receipt. Usually this place is pretty good. But tonite the staff made it hard to come back to. I went to the grab and go side after a long work day. There was no one at the station, no problem, so I waited for a minute or two. A young woman came over, didn't say a word, and I tried to hand her what I had grabbed. She said "just tell me what it is". I had numerous items. So I tell her what I had and she tells me the total. She swipes my card, hands me a receipt and just walks away. I have always loved Newks, but this location is such a disappointment after giving it multiple (20 at least) shots... Multiple times I have ordered online they have not begun my order until I arrived at the restaurant. On one occasion my salad that had grapes contained grapes with seeds! I chipped my tooth biting into one, and the response was "yeah everyone has been complaining about this today"... which is probably a good sign to stop serving them as a topping. On one occasion my husband ordered a slice of cake. There were multiple pieces in the to-go fridge but the employee did not allow him to take his slice from the fridge. After waiting almost an hour for a piece he asked to just be refunded for the cake, at which point the employee grabbed a slice from the fridge and gave it to him. My order is usually always wrong in some capacity. And most recently, I visited last night and ordered the Ahi Tuna salad. It didn't look quite right or smell normal. The tuna was an odd color, the cucumbers looked days old and the carrots were soaking wet. I mentioned it to a server and he said it was normal. After a few bites I stopped eating it and waste my $14 salad. Well unfortunately I was sick soon after eating just a few bites. Food poisoning is my last straw and I won't be visiting again. read more

Okay, so this review is from 1 visit; but my advice is to go definitely if you want a really good lunch or are jonesing for some good soup and Panera Bread is getting tired. That's it! It's a better Panera sans all the breakfast stuff - although they may have a breakfast menu too. Call ahead or check the other reviews on that. Get this --- I ordered the half soup, half sandwich combo. The soup - crawfish!!! That's what I said: crawfish. Now don't go thinking gumbo. No. It's like a crawfish take on lobster bisque. Rich and creamy with nice pieces of crawfish in there, piping hot. For my sandwich I had the shrimp po-boy. Now I wish there had been 4 instead of 3 shrimps, and the sandwiches are on the small side.... but it was still delicious. The bread is a hearty crisp white roll. The garnishes fresh and crisp too. This place has a side's bar that's a meal on it's own, complimentary. I saw so folks taking advantage of that - you know those that stuff their take-out boxes with as much free stuffs as they can. Seems just not right and greedy that. The profit margin for a restaurant is already small.... anyway, I digress. So you order and you get a number for your table.
