Every time that I have been in, it has been super clean even though it is crowded. There are a lot of choices on the menu, so there is something to please everyone. I recently went in with my 3 year old. We were both able to eat for less than $20. While eating, the manager came up to make sure everything was ok. Wanted to find a quick kid friendly place near Regal Azalea and Yelp pointed here. We looked a little lost when we got there, but the manager greeted us promptly and told us how to order, the menu, etc. Based on his suggestions, we tried the Newk Q and the pimento and bacon mac and cheese. Simply delish! While we were there, they had these table ads for the Ahi Tuna sandwich. Will be back later this week to try that. While there is nothing spectacular or above and beyond to mention here, I really like Newk's! The restaurant is always clean and the staff is always friendly and very helpful-we just ate with a party of 5 (3 of which were kids), and an employee and a manager both came to our table two separate times to make sure everything was good and prepared the way we wanted it to be. Our table was quick to be cleared, but not in an annoying, rushing you kind of way. They do get rather busy and parking can be difficult, though. I always get the club sandwich and I haven't been disappointed yet. The bread is sub-like, but it's good because it's never as hard as that bread tends to be (yes, I'm talking about your brick bread, Subway). Newk's does cater and they also have a separate area (with a separate entrance and exit) for quick to-go service. I've also seen a few parties going on inside before. They have a small patio for outdoor dining, as well. It's nice to have more choices here in town (Summerville). I'd definitely recommend trying it out for yourself. read more

This is a good soup, salad and sandwich place. The food is prepared quickly so there is very little wait. Good for lunches and dinners where you don't have a lot of time to spare. We go every couple months just to change it up with some of the soups they offer. read more

Service is usually quick, though not always the friendliest. Of the four times we've been there, part of our orders came out wrong twice. Salads are very large and always fresh. Ingredients in them are so-so...Nothing fancy. Dressings leave ALOT to be desired- have tried all of them and none are as good as most competitors. Pizzas are hit or miss- we've had some good ones and others that are just so bland you could be eating white bread. Sandwiches are good. Manager at least comes around to interact, which is always a plus. Definitely a good stop for lunch. read more

I was visiting the area and my cousin suggested this restaurant. She lives in the area and says she goes a lot by herself during the week. It was packed today so that made me think it must be good. You order at the counter like a deli or cafeteria, but then a server delivers your food to the table. I was not disappointed at all. I had Chicken Tortilla Soup and 1/2 chicken salad sandwich. I really enjoyed both items I had. I have to say I did not eat a lot of the bread, but what I tasted was yummy! My cousin had Lobster & Crab Bisque and 1/2 chicken salad sandwich which she truly enjoyed as well. Plentiful portions as the sandwiches are served on french bread. I heard the people behind me LOVE the dessert they had and when I peaked I think it was the chocolate cake. I was too full for dessert, but peaking around they all looked good. The restaurant also has a grab and go section which I think is great when you are on the run. I was impressed that although it was crowded no one pushed us along. My cousin and I were able to sit there for a while and catch up. I would definitely try this restaurant again if I was in the area. read more

Newks is always delicious. I have eaten here with my family several times and we have a great experience every time! If you haven't tried the "Royal" club sandwich yet DO IT! Worst place I've spent money for food in years. Place is a nightmare. Waited 20 mins for a simple order off the menu from the front wall & they STILL got it wrong. Then waited another 20 mins for simple switch of salad dressing. One hand doesn't talk to the other. One manager runs entire place herself. What's worst, is I witnessed someone doing food prep & then texting on their phone same time. No gloves used. So they're touching filthy phone & all of your food. That doesn't happen once-it happens ALL the time because manager was right there. Don't bother. It's not worth food borne illness or the ridiculous wait for mediocre salads or subs!! read more

Very disappointing. Enjoyed the pizza and sub BUT at the time we ordered we were not aware that my 4 yr old granddaughter had to decide on her meal right then in order to get it free. When I went back to add her meal I was told because she did not order with ours she would have to pay. I was shocked since there was no mention of that on the sign. This is definitely my favorite place for lunch or dinner in the area! After eating here the first time about a month ago, I've dragged literally all of my friends and family in to try it. I've had pizza, salad, sandwiches, and the bacon and pimento mac and cheese, all of which were to die for. Their margherita pizza is the best I have ever had, and I would tell you I hated mac and cheese before I tried the amazing varieties here. I work not too far from here, and I pass all of the other places on main street to go here. They really have the full package of delicious, consistent, and diverse food choices as well as great customer service from everyone on their team. And I know it's a small perk to even mention, but I LOVE the cups they have too. They give you a decorated plastic cup, not a paper cup that's going to melt in my car cup holders. read more

We went to the Summerville, SC Newk's with a party of TEN and received treatment and service that was far above anything that I have received at any restaurant in recent memory. This is a new outlet that is still refining their operation but, already has set standards that it will be difficult or nearly impossible for the competition to beat or even match. We tried a wide range of their fare and everyone of our plates were at or above excellence. I personally had Newk's Favorite salad with a side of Mac & Cheese with Pimento & Bacon. Both were excellent but the side of Mac & Cheese made me wish that I had ordered a full serving. If your a Mac & Cheese person you absolutely need to make a "special" trip to experience theirs. Their prices are comparable to any restaurant in their class. I expect to become a "regular"! read more

We simply love Newks... you can really tell they use clean, healthy ingredients.. the pizzas are so delicious (as long as you like thin crust) and the salads are very large with fresh cut vegetables.. we frequent this place and will continue to for many years to come... The service is always top notch and they have a condiments table that is super convenient.. the pickles are delicious. The only negative is they don't have French fries, which would be good with their sandwiches. I would highly suggest checking this place out for yourself! read more

I came into this place about 6 mos ago for my first time and I was really impressed as I've never heard of a Newks again the name caught my eye because it's unique and seemed like an elegant resturant. When I first walked in to my surprise it was sorta like a cafe or upscale fancier panera bread. I was greeted by a hostess and shown the menu that was there with an assortment of food options to choose from. I recall the waitress explaining how delicious there potatoe mac and cheese soup was and from looking at the display it really was delicious looking so I couldn't resist and decided to try it. When I got my bowl of cheesy potatoe soup it was a score I really savored the flavor as I had tasted the cheese and tiny bits of bacon in the soup.. Then I tried the mac and cheese it also was a win the only thing I noticed was I requested more parmesan cheese to give more flavor but it was so delicious. I paid about $9 for the entire meal. Definitely would recommend others to stop in and try Newks it's located right near the convenience of everything. read more
