probably the worst bagel place in Pennsylvania. Their bagels are small when you can even get them because majority of the time they're out of the one you want and aren't willing to make more. Secondly, all the food is processed. Thirdly, the atmosphere is boring there is no excitement at all just a bunch of grumpy morning people wanting to get some average food, and that's exactly what it is. The coffee taste like shit. There is no set uniform. Everyone of their coworkers are wearing something different. Also, their hygiene is not up to par. I've ordered multiple times and never received the correct order. While waiting for my food I seen , the grill guy picking his nose and then wrap the sandwich. I was so disgusted that I left the store even after paying. Why waste your time on disgusting food when you can go to McDonald's buy a steak, egg and cheese bagel and be more satisfied for your money. Which reminds me the creamer for the coffee was room temperature and started to chunk up. eww gross... I would rather lick my dollar bills, then to ever eat any of their food. I will tell not only my family and friends, but the whole nation about the horrible establishment they consider a good business. instead of fixing the problem, they make up excuses and that's why I don't see a prosperous future for Newtown bagel. Just stopped in as I was passing through. Upon walking in I was warmly greeted by the girl at the front counter. I got a delicious Asiago bagel with egg and cheese made by Reese. Amazing! I just moved to the area and stopped in to get a bagel. I never knew till that day that a bagel could get better then what I have been eating...oh it can! I LOVE bagels and I actually really think this place has great bagels and flavors but LORD PLEASE work on your service. I am 8 months pregnant and all I wanted this morning was a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese- toasted. Had my sister pick it up for me and when I opened it up- it was just completely burnt. Im not talking toasted or darkly toasted- it was black and bitter. Did the person packing this up not think that this would be inedible? I live in Newtown and this place is close by and convenient. The last four times I went for a multi-grain bagel. The last four times they were out of them. They said you can call and reserve one, so I did, and the girl said " we don't have multi-grain today". I asked "why not" she said " I don't know, we may get an order in today". No help whatsoever. The young girls that work here are sort of brain dead and appear not to care. They seem to be trying to get rid of the customers by showing no concern when you're disappointed . The last time I got a veggie cream cheese and it was super hot cream cheese with some kind of pepper powder in it. They said "oh I guess we gave you the spicy version". Seriously, I think these girls are purposely trying to ruin the business. They are totally indifferent to the customers needs and concerns and seem not to care when you're dissatisfied. Better bagels exist. However in Newtown there's not much for options. Yardley Bagel Cafe and Bagel Train in Yardley I prefer however I'm not always up for the additional drive. The bagels here are better than the nearby grocery stores. The cream cheese here is store made/mixed so thats a positive. Unfortunately as I write this review I'm moved onto the keto diet and enjoyed what will be my last bagel for sometime .. maybe with the exception of a splurge day here and there. One possible thought comes to mind to make this place stand out above others. There are keto bagel recipes all over the web. Cauliflower bagels are pretty tasty and the batter freezes up well. May I suggest offering a variety of keto bagels? This likely will bring me into the store more frequently at this point as finding keto-pre-made anything in the area is a challenge. I actually really like this place. They have an amazing variety of bagels and cream cheese spreads. However, sometimes they are so stingy with their cream cheese where I'm literally eating a bagel with a THIN barely there layer of cream cheese. AND anytime I ask for the spicy veg cream cheese they always do half spicy veg and half plain or half jalapeño or half something. If I wanted a mix I would ask for it. I'm not sure why they're so weird about it and I don't even know it happens until after I leave. If I'm paying for a service I expect to be given what I asked for. It's happened multiple times and I wish I could say I'm gonna just try one more time but I think I'm over it. No I haven't tried to talk to the people behind the counter about it because I didn't think I needed to especially when I'm directly telling you what I want. Then they fired the friendly server I always chatted with, and replaced him with someone who doesn't wash their hands after using the bathroom. Wow! This place is tremendous. I haven't been to Newtown Bagel in quite some time. But, needless to say, I will be going back more often after my recent experience. I arrived around 10am on a Sunday. Food was meh. They forgot one of my meals. When I called they said I could come pick it up or call doordash for a refund. Then I realized they forgot toast for every single meal. My parents recently moved to Newtown so they received a coupon for free dozen bagels from Newtown Bagel Co. Since my parents always have a bagel and coffee for breakfast, I went with my mom to pick up some bagels for them while I was visiting. We felt bad asking for just the free bagels, so we asked for 2 dozens and picked up 2 tubs of cream cheese as well. There was no one in the shop as we went in at around 1:30 pm and they close at 2 pm on most days. We were greeted by a gentleman, but he went into the back as we were picking out the cream cheese and a younger girl helped us with the bagels. I felt a bit awkward because as soon as I told the employee that we had a coupon for a free dozen and wanted to get a total of 2 dozens, she said they are pretty low on bagels and asked if we wanted to come back tomorrow and said they probably only have about 2 dozens left (which may have been true if she counted just the ones that were in the bins... but there were about another 5 dozens prepacked on their countertop.) I knew most bagel shops close early and expected to have a less of a selection available to us, but I didn't expect her to ask me if we wanted to come back another day. Maybe she was just being considerate... because she wanted us to have more to choose from? But I just felt that wasn't the thing to say to customers that made their first trip there (with a coupon which made me feel a bit more uncomfortable). She must have known it was our first time there because only first time customers can use the coupon. Anyways, I told her that we would see what they have left and go from there... and we were able to pick out the 2 dozen bagels and they still had about another dozen or so left in the bins alone. I was thinking maybe she said that because they would have to reject other customers that came in after us if they ran out, but they were going to close very soon and they still had a good amount of bagels left. I wanted to see if she would offer to cut the bagels for me... since throwing them into a bagel cutter is way less work than me sitting at home and cutting 24 or so bagels, but unfortunately she didn't offer and I didn't ask since I just felt a little bit uncomfortable there. Afterwards when I mentioned this to my mom she said maybe they don't have a slicer... which.... I doubt, but if that's the case I apologize for mentioning this at all. The employee did offer to give us some freezer bags though, which was nice of her. As for the bagels, I enjoyed the bagels... they tasted just fine. I read some other reviews and some people said they were too light and didn't fill them up... and I can see why they say that, but I don't mind because I actually don't mind a lighter bagel. I would go back and grab some more bagels if my parents needed some when I'm in town, but my first experience wasn't exactly what I expected. read more

The main reason for such a low rating is that the staff employed here is lazy and seem to not care about the customers. I've been here on multiple occasions where my order has been completely wrong. If it was one time fine, but at this point I need to check my order before I leave. When I went this morning, the girl decided not to help me but to watch the bagel go through the toaster for 2 minutes... Another employee saw I was waiting and walked into the back. They were toasted of course but the two young ladies who ran the front were too busy discussing their personal lives and social things that they literally took forever to handle the bagels and give them to me. Literally the best bagels in Newtown, terrible service and handling of those bagels. (Butter and jelly on one side only?)
