Next was super responsive when it came to booking, understanding the amount of items we had for the move, and answering/addressing the million questions and concerns I had. During the set up, I had mentioned to Stacey our building's restrictions on times and she was able to work with what we were given. The movers were scheduled to arrive between the 8:30-9:30am window and they arrived at 8:35am! Because the elevators weren't being held for us until 10am, two of the three movers were quick to start loading our boxes and another stayed behind to pack away our hung clothing items and shrink wrap our furniture. Everything was wrapped so well and they really made sure our items were protected. The unloading process was super quick and the guys were really good about following the labels on each box. Unfortunately two of our boxes got dropped in the process, but luckily nothing was broken. The mover was very apologetic about it and made sure we checked for damages. As it was our first time using professional movers, I'd say this went beyond what we were expecting. There were little to no damages to the home and the team moved all of our items with care and caution. Great guys and great company to work with. I really appreciated the communication and then the process of moving. The three movers worked as a team to get the more difficult things moved. I asked them to throw some furniture away to the trash bins, and they left them outside of the bins (I think they were taking a cue from a couch that was sitting out of the bins) instead of inside. Some of the smaller pieces could have gone in the bins. I had to throw them in later because my apartment would have charged for disposal of the items that were not technically in the trash. Anyway, I guess not their fault. I probably could have asked them to toss the items inside the trash bins instead of doing it myself. They took a lunch break before meeting me at my place to unload the boxes. They did a really good job and were very careful with heavier furniture up the stairs. Some boxes ended up in the living room that were marked for the bedroom, but I don't think the gentleman who unloaded those knew much English. I noticed the other two translating for him so maybe he just didn't realize they were marked for the bedroom. All in all, it was a good experience. This business is a scam. Please read and look at photos/videos before you book! This company runs off of bait and switching their customers. I originally went with this company because they didn't have a bunch of random fees and they seemed the most straight forward. Boy, was I wrong! Everyone else was just up front about their fees, unlike Next Moving! When you initially book - the communication included NOTHING of fees for heavy items ($80+ for a washer), $55 service surcharge until AFTER you book/pay the deposit (embedded in the booking contract in FINE PRINT). I even spoke to a salesman (Brad) that didn't disclose any of this. He even went as far as to double confirm verbally that we wouldn't pay ANY extra for moving a washer/dryer. On the day of the move, 2 hrs prior to their scheduled arrival time, the office called me saying that we needed a 3 person crew instead of 2. So our hourly rate now would go from $129 to $165. They went back to their supervisor on this and nothing ended up budging. The movers were the most careless as well that I've ever dealt with. They slammed down our dresser and massage chair enough to gouge our flooring and break a piece off of our massage chair (pictures for proof). There was only one guy of the 3 movers that was responsive whilst the other two looked like they hated life. When they were done with the move, one of the guys saw that we had a leaf blower in our garage and asked if he could use it. Turns out they wanted to blow out ALL their trash from the inside of their truck onto our street! Wth? Oh, but first, he played with it like it was a toy gun making machine gun noises. Their nonchalant attitude when this was brought to their attention is just a testament to their service. I couldn't even talk fast enough before getting cut off and felt like I needed to hurry so they could get off the phone with me. I was given a "5% loyalty discount" on my next move (which I'm sure everyone gets). Yeah right. Bottom line - be wary of a business that requires a deposit because then they basically have you. When all the fees came up, we would've backed out if we didn't have the deposit on the line. These people trap you with it and lock you in, making it impossible for you to say no. I've never had workers stop in the middle of a move to take a lunch break--along with my personal items--going to God knows where. What should have taken 2 hours with 2 workers ended up taking 3 1/2 hours. They made sure to exceed the 3-hour minimum required. However, the tone completely changed and became retaliatory when my review update wasn't posted as quickly as he wanted. Shortly after, I received a harassing message accusing me of "blackmail" and threatening to charge me for services that were never provided. The message referenced my personal Yelp history in an attempt to intimidate me, which is highly unprofessional and inappropriate. I've since reported the communication to Yelp Support, who advised me to file a police report due to the harassing nature of the message. Moving to a new city is fun, but packing and actually moving my things is probably a task that feels more like a chore. I've moved a few times before, but this is the first time I've used a moving company. I spoke with Brad on the phone and he provided me with quotes that were great! I moved from a 1bd1br apartment in Fullerton to a 1bd1br in Irvine. The team arrived at 9:20 am and packed up all of stuff from big to small items and brought it over and set it up at our new apartment by 5:20 pm. This company also offers TV mounting service which was huge for us. Brad checked in on us via phone during the day of the move to ensure everything was going well (which it was). We had a total of two movers and a very very large moving van. So glad I found them on Yelp and shoutout to the request a quote feature that helped me get in touch with them initially. read more

****UPDATE**** As of 1/23/2026: only after my constructive review on Yelp was published did I then receive an influx of texts, emails, and calls: 10 phone calls from three people, 3 sets of texts, and an email. While I was on a work trip, I responded as soon as I could. The conversation was reminiscent of my 17 year old self: the company owner explained (lectured) me for 15 of the 17 minutes on the call why his company was justified to add $1,500 to my bill, even after we adjusted from $2,500 to $3,100 (now he wants $4,600++). There was no listening, just responding to the Yelp review and lecturing me on weight, volume, and cross country. Please note - prior to the initial quote of $2,500, photos of barrels, and all heavy items were furnished. There was no secret this was an industrial office move, not a residential move. That was all disclosed by me, the customer, over the phone and via the website form. Further, I printed all terms and conditions, and never were these prices and specific "terms" disclosed by the moving company. Rather just vague terms that the rates may increase for weight and volume. Having done multiple cross country moves recently, these "got ya" fees were never a factor by any other company (being slapped with $1,500++ in over charges after the fact). We agreed on the variable rate items, such as labor. The "heavy item" fee was charged twice - once for the truck and again for the movers. We discussed only the latter (in fact the only one that was disclosed by the company). While offering to load the heavy item as one on a pallet with a pallet jack that was going with the order, the movers opted to split this into four (ultimately resulting in a much higher per item heavy dollar fee). The company is not concerned with making right by the customer, but rather explaining why they are justified in invoicing whatever feels right based on what suits their needs. Indeed - quite "puzzled." **** - - - - **** Picked up on time. Movers for loading were good. Administratively, this company nickel and dined every piece of the move. The initial estimate was $2,500. As soon as I completed their online form, they jumped to $3,100. Upon loading, rather than wrapping and loading one piece, they broke it into four as they can charge an overweight PER ITEM fee. Then yet another fee for the truck we8ghing more - ANOTHER $1,000. The move isnt even complete yet and im being badgered to pay these extraneous fees that weren't agreed upon and explicitly overlooked when they wanted to book my business. I'd never do this again. Hired them to help with my move, and had a good experience with them! My move was a block away, but I had a bed and bed frame on the second floor, stuff in the basement, a keyboard and stand, and just lots of stuff to deal with that I did not want to deal with alone as a short person LOL. They wrapped everything well, navigated the stairs wonderfully, came with wardrobe boxes and were able to load my wardrobe into just two of the 4 wardrobe boxes offered (leaving the other two to help them stack and contain all the small, looselyl-packed items I had), and yes, they loaded and unloaded my wardrobe for me, which was super helpful! They do prefer you pack your stuff in as many standard boxes as possible, which they didn't quite mention before the move, so that's something to keep in mind. They did try to get me to buy boxes from them, but I pushed back and said it wouldn't be fair since they didn't tell me ahead of time, and they agreed. But even if you don't want to pack all your things in boxes, you might want extras on hand. They did help me pack some loose stuff into some boxes though, which was helpful. And for me, my move was completed within a 3-hr time block (which is the minimum they charge), but if you live further away then it could take more time (although again, having stuff consolidated in fewer boxes can help). But overall good experience, and their ability to handle heavy items via stairs and load and unload my wardrobe was helpful and I would definitely consider them again. read more
