NGUYEN'S KITCHEN @ ORANGE The food here was good but the sauce was REALLY flavorful. The rice bowl was a decent size for the price and everything came out pretty fast. Really nice late night spot to eat. Overall 5/5
Came for a late-night meal as usual! This place was a great option since it's open until very late. Parking was a bit of a challenge since the lot is small, but some of us were able to find parking in adjacent lots or on the street. Once you walk in, there's seating along the edges and a counter where you place your order. It's a very small and cozy spot. Once you order, the cooks call your number when your food is ready. I went for the garlic noodles with bulgogi. You also have the option to add Parmesan cheese for free, which was cool! The flavor was very garlicky, as advertised, but not too overpowering. The sauce they give on the side has quite a kick, so I'd be cautious if you're sensitive to spice. I loved the variety on the menu and was pleasantly surprised to see a bit of Korean fusion in some of the dishes. Everyone enjoyed their meal and had a great time. I'd come back! :-)
Restaurant is on the border of Orange and Santa Ana by the CHOC hospitals. I've come back a few times and I love the grilled pork sandwich here. The green sauce that comes with it is delicious. I appreciate that everything is made to order here. There's indoor seating and a small free parking lot available.
Love their grilled pork vermicelli & beef sliders. I usually ask for extra fish sauce. Veggies are fresh and pickled carrots & daikon give it added flavor. Parking at the Orange location is a beast but otherwise love these 2 dishes. Hits the spot every time!
I was SO disheartened when the Nguyens kitchen by my house closed down a few years back, I mean what other place has plenty of seating, open until 2am, and makes amazing food that isn't your normal fast-food chains? I mean it's this place right here, and I was so glad to visit this location in Orange, absolutely nothing changed from the old location. My go to and possibly the best item in the menu is the bulgogi short rib steak bahn mi. It's extremely tender, it's not dry there's tons of juice, the pickled vegetables add the freshness you need and the cilantro with the little spike at the end. One of my favorite sandwiches I'm always in the mood for, and they come out pretty quick once you order. Very good turnaround. Late night bite to eat? This is the spot, it's always the spot
Really tasty and good for a late night meal! I ordered a grilled pork banh mi and their egg rolls. The egg rolls were a 10/10 I could eat a whole plate of those! The grilled pork banh mi was solid, nothing over the top. Good tasting pork and I like the spread they use. I personally prefer a stronger pickling on my veg and more spice but overall I was still happy with the sandwich.
Came here first and didn't even realize it's connected to PUR Bowls--dangerous (in the best way) because I couldn't say no to dessert after. I ordered the garlic noodle protein bowl with jumbo shrimp, and wow... the aroma alone sold me. Super flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. I got it to go, but it smelled so good I was tempted to dig in right there. Ordering was quick and easy at the register, and my food was ready in about 5-10 minutes. Fast, efficient, and still high quality. Perfect setup for grabbing dinner and then sliding next door for dessert. This is definitely going to be a regular stop for me.
Their rice is not fully cooked. How can an establishment let something so basic go unchecked? Less importantly I wouldve preferred their grilled shrimp unshelled. And their garlic noodles and steak were bland. Lastly, I had to repeat my order (of two items) several times.
Good fried chicken and garlic shrimp noodles with Parmesan cheese and special sauce. Nice clean environment inside and outside here. Restroom is nice and clean too. Service is almost like self service because you pick up your food order as they call your number here. Mainly takeout orders for Togo as they are next to hospital. Parking is limited on both sides and no drive through here. A beautiful place for lunch on Saturday by the hospital. Definitely worth the drive here. Price wise it's reasonable and full savory flavors and salty taste buds good with beer for sure. Enjoy the sunshine today.
The Bulgogi Steak Sandwich with the Vietnamese coffee was really good. The protein is cooked when ordered. Received my sandwich fresh off the grill. Great flavor and that sauce they put on top was delicious! Bread was not hard, it was soft and delicious. Prices are pretty reasonable. Highly recommend giving this place a try!
When we arrived, we were able to find parking with what limited parking they have. It was around 8:30 pm. Luckily it wasn't busy when we arrived. Upon entering, we notice that it's two establishments and you can easily go to one or the other. The staff happily welcomed us after seeing us. Looking at the menu, everything seemed to peak my interest and prices were relatively affordable compared to other restaurants. We ordered the Crawfish Pasta, Popcorn Chicken, House Marinated Chicken Sandwich, and Cajun Garlic Fries. When ordering, they offered free Parmesan cheese either on top or in the side. They had drink options, and I went with a fountain drink. Crawfish Pasta: Loved that it had crawfish. It tasted pretty good. I do wish they cut up the cilantro smaller length. Overall, still a flavorful dish. House Marinated Chicken Sandwich: Honestly, I didn't expect it to be this big. Luckily we were sharing food. The marinated chicken was packed with flavor and super soft and not dry. As a veggie lover, I loved that it had pickled carrots and daikon radish. Again, would have preferred the cilantro to be cut up a little more. Bread was so soft and fluffy. The green looking sauce that each dish and sides had was also really good. All in all, sandwich was really good. Cajun Garlic Fries: For almost $6, this was quite a lot of fries. There are many places that charge $6 and you don't get that many. Fries were crispy, just enough saltiness and flavor. I really liked the fries, although I didn't notice too much of the garlic flavor. I still enjoyed the fries, especially with that sauce on the side. Popcorn Chicken: The chicken was very soft and moist, and tasted pretty good also. I love the seasoning. However, it wasn't a lot when I compared it to the amount of fries we got. But it's worth a try. I do wish they added more chicken. It was quiet at the beginning and by 10 pm, a lot of people came. It became more lively. When we left, there were a bit of cars emergency lighting. Can't blame them. Food was pretty good. I'd definitely come back.
A friend recommended Nguyen's Kitchen to me. She said the bulgogi garlic noodles (with fried egg) and chicken wings would change my life! I stopped by for an early dinner on my way back to San Diego last weekend. My friend and I each got the bulgogi garlic noodles (I added the egg but for $2.50 not sure it added a lot of flavor or value to the dish), shared the wings and an order fries. I also ordered a Vietnamese coffee on the cashier's recommendation--good suggestion, nice flavor without an overpowering amount of sugar. The wings were fantastic. Fries were fair, good portions and flavorful. I liked the noodles but weren't blown away. Everything was very soft, not a lot of textural change. The portion was generous with lots of bulgogi beef. The service was great--friendly and responsive. They have a small lot which was fine at 530pm on Sunday but probably problematic at lunch or normal dinner hours. My one complain was dirty dining room. Maybe it was just after the lunch rush, but the tables and floor could have used some wiping and the trash cans were full. Nice easy meal stop off the freeway at Orange.
The night was dark and the hunger was grumbling and this place was open to save the day! The place was packed and the staff was friendly I got a good amount of knowledgeable details on what's good and what can be a fav later on into the days of eating there. I have gotten a bun mi sandwich that seems to be made with love and goodness I would have asked one to go however it really is something best eating while fresh so I held back on ordering more but I will next time.

My cousin recommended this place as she's been multiple times. I decided to tag along, and I am happy I did. For a Tuesday night, it was pretty busy. The parking lot is a little small for being located on such a busy street! Nevertheless, we parked and I was ready to try something new. The vibe inside is nice, small and connected to Pur Bowl( açaí) but super cute. Greeted by a friendly cashier, my cousin got the garlic noodles and added bulgogi, pork, jumbo shrimp and an egg. I didn't know what to get(ever looked amazing) and the cashier recommended the Crawfish Pasta( crawfish and sausage over linguine in a creamy spice sauce(so I went with that. Definitely a Cajun taste for sure! If you like spice like I do, this is definitely for you; creamy/spicy, pasta cooked perfectly. My reasoning for 4 stars, way more sausage than crawfish. I would expect more or at least an even ratio as that is the name and the price is about $15. Overall, I would definitely eat here again just to try the different foods on the menu! read more

My husband and I always saw this place pop up on yelp when we have trouble looking for places to eat. Since I was heading out of the office and home for lunch, I figured I'll try this place out for lunch and order extra for husband and mom to try. Being a busy bee, I figured ordering take out & picking up would be easy since it was my lunch time & I had to get back to work asap, so I timed it out so I can make it back on time to log in for work. Turns out, this place is located near the CHOC hospital and the busy streets already suck but the parking lot driveway is tiny. The driveway in and out made it difficult for me to go into if the person driving out and being in an SUV doesn't help with small spaces especially from the main st. I ordered the garlic shrimp noodles. It comes with 4 tiger prawns. It was ok. I also ordered some garlic chicken noodles as well since my husband is allergic to shrimp. The chicken was good and had some good flavors and I got some popcorn chicken. I wish there was a bit more popcorn for the price you pay? Or maybe I'm just used to getting more popcorn chicken from other places or I'm just fat and like more chicken so I can eat. Haha but anyways...the amount of popcorn chicken was less than a handful but it was pretty tasty with the sauce they had. Overall the food was ok. Nothing special that wowed me and prices were kinda high but do-able for the noodles, but I don't think so for the popcorn chicken. This dish was hitting all the right spots and surprising being very carby didn't have me feeling weighed down and it wasn't oily at all!! This American-Vietnamese cafe is pretty good. My mom and I was in the area and I decided to take her here. We ordered marinated chicken Banh mi and garlic noodles with chicken breast. Both dishes were good. I'm was pleasantly surprised that the garlic noodle wasn't dry and was very tasty. The dish was a bit too heavy for us great flavor. Parking: there a private lot for NK guests but when we got there on Saturday at 2pm, there was no parking. I drove around a couple of times before finding a space to park. There were only 3 parties in the cafe at the time.... Cleanliness: the cafe was Smokey and stuffy. The tables were dirty and messy from previous guests. The toilet was unflushed and restroom dirty! I first tried this place when it had barely opened and I was pretty disappointed. However, I just recently came back and it's gotten a lot better! I ordered the garlic noodles with beef when I first came and it was very mediocre. I couldn't finish it. The second time we came, my friend ordered it again and it tasted better than when I first got it. I also ordered the crawfish pasta and it was very tasty! I'm not a huge fan of crawfish, but this was enjoyable. It was a pretty large portion too, so I was able to take it home and it still tasted good when I ate it the next day. The crawfish smell is pretty prominent so keep that in mind! The peach and lychee green tea was very refreshing. read more

Oh my goodness!! I'm salivating thinking about the their garlic noodles right now!! My sister and I took a SoCal foodie trip during COVID and we didn't arrive into town until late at night. We yelped to see what was still open as we were starving and came across Nguyen's Kitchen!! These were some of the BEST garlic noodles I've had in a long time. We ordered online and food was ready for pick-up when we arrived. We ordered garlic noodles with shrimp, pork banh mi, and an order of eggrolls. Everything was delicious!! The noodles were so fragrant in the car on the way back to the hotel, we coudln't wait to dig in (after pictures of course). We scarfed everything down and we actually ended up going again because we enjoyed them so much. Second time, however, we ended up going there to order because I had noticed they offered Five Stars rewards when we went to pick up the the first time. We went around dinner time the second time around and it was pretty busy. They had a lot of workers but quite a long line. It took a little longer than expected to get our food and if I knew it was going to take that long, I would have waited outside as the restaurant is actually pretty small. They do have a few tables outside if you wish to eat your food there. We ordered another order of garlic noodles, banh mi and this time added their specialty teas. We felt during busy times, the garlic noodles didn't taste as garlicky as they did late night. Note to self for next time, come later. It could be because the garlic noodles have time to sit a little longer in that yummy garlicky goodness. We will definitely be back next time we come down to SoCal! Almost forgot. Ive always wanted to try this place! My boyfriend and I always get acai next door and we always see this place. We ordered online through Yelp and got a little too excited and overordered like we always do. Parking: they have their small lot just behind their restaurant. When we came to pick up our order there was plenty of parking. However, i do remember seeing their lot getting full before prior to the COVID. They are also next to the CHOC hospital so street parking might be a little tricky. Services: They offer take out, dine in, and deliveries. You can order online via Yelp. Food: OMG! Everything was soooooo bomb. We ordered the garlic noodles with bulgogi, garlic noodles with shrimp, crawfish pasta, and salad with chicken breast. The garlic noodles had just the right amount of buttery and garlicy. The sweetnes of the bulgogi complimented the noodles perfectly! The crawfish pasta was so tasty and had the perfect kick! Got the garlic noodles with house chicken and a fried egg on top. By far the best garlic noodles I've had and the garlic sauce is AMAZING. I'm a nurse at a local hospital and I was so glad to see they close at 2:30am since I work overnight. Gonna be taking my lunch break here more often. Awesome service, awesome place, and even better food. The shop itself is also really clean and well maintained. Love this place, 10/10 highly recommend!!!! read more

Came here for a quick bite to eat with parents. It's in a very hidden place, behind CHOC and St Joseph's. The parking lot was busy as cars were coming in and out. Service was really good even though they were so busy. The employees were kind enough to explain their menu and share their favorites. We got the Crawfish Pasta, Garlic Noodles (not pictured), Cajun Garlic Fries, Bulgogi Short Rib and Peach & Lychee Tea. Everything was really yummy and affordable. Ordered for delivery (closes late) so glad that we could have a late night munchies. The banh mi was incredibly delicious. The pork was very flavorful and veggies were fresh. The green milk tea was also amazing and not too sweet. As a restaurant that doesn't specialize in milk tea, their milk tea was spot on. The garlic noodles were good but a bit dry. Late night munchies? Never fear, Nguyen's is here (so forget about Denny's unless you're out past their 2:30am closing time). After nearly five hours of standing and rocking out to Michael Schenker fest at the nearby City Grove (roughly 2.1 miles away according to YELP) I needed a clean bathroom and snack. The reviews and pics seemed cool so we headed over and quickly found parking in the private lot. Once inside it was smaller than initially thought but spatially well situated. We ordered two sammies, one bulgolgi beef and a grilled pork number. I approved of the fresh approach since I could watch and smell our meal being cooked on the griddle. The cook was friendly so we discussed cilantro and how it makes Vietnamese sandwiches come to life. This also gave me time to check out the sauce options but I quickly preferred the spicier take on piri piri. In short, both sandwiches had full flavor ranges, finer than jullienne sliced veggies and crispy French buns. This is the place for a quick lunch or late night session. Next time I'm in Anaheim for a concert this'll be my new hang before driving home! read more

I had the Bulgogi Short Rib Steak at it was a delicious plate! The meat was so tender and juicy! Shoot even the salad was bomb lol It closes late with is great for late airport pick ups. I definitely recommend it and I suggest you try their yummy green sauce that has a spicy kick! If I lived in the area I would make this a usual go to spot! read more

The noodle dish portions are fat, not small by any means. The crawfish pasta specifically has a lot of meat between the crawfish and sausage.

Noodles contain eggs as an ingredient. Consider that. Isn't there a menu you can look up on this page? Or just wanted to point out the lack of vegetarian options? I think there was one item with no meat in there.
