When I'm in a pho mood, I tend to come here. This place is tucked away next to a barber shop in a strip mall. I've never had trouble parking for dinner, no matter how busy it was. The place is small but there's a lot of seating. Decor is sparse but I'm just here for the food. Even when it's busy, there's usually quick turn over on the tables so the wait is never long unless there's a big group. Service is usually pretty quick. My only complaint is that the pho often comes out before or the same time as the appetizers. I tend to order a shrimp and pork spring roll which comes with a peanut sauce for dipping, and my go-to is the large pho beef combo bowl, which comes with all the cuts of beef along with thin strips of tendon and tripe. The flavor of the broth is delicious, and the bowl is always filling, but if I want a little more variety then maybe I'll skip the appetizer and order a small bowl and a pork banh mi sandwich to go with it. My +1 prefers the pho bowl with meatballs. Note: there's no children's menu so we've had to get creative for our little one. We've had luck ordering a side of rice and a fried egg, and mixing it together. There are closer pho spots, but I prefer the broth at this one. Hard to believe that this is my 6th visit without reviewing this restaurant. Located within a few minutes from my house I come here frequently for lunch whenever I am close by. Just like on my previous visits I've not tried their pho yet and usually get their Charbroiled Shrimp and Crispy Egg Vermicelli. Unfortunately I was very disappointed by the dish and this is probably the reason I have not eaten here in over 2 years. While the egg rolls and shrimps are hot the noodles are not. The egg rolls where crispy but not to my liking and the shrimps on the other hand were probably the best part of the dish. I also didn't care about the lettuce or cucumber in the bowl and found the whole dish quite bland to be honest. Fast forward a few weeks, came back this morning to give the Chicken Pho a try which was hands down one of the best I've had lately. The small bowl for $7.00 was huge and enough to feed two imho. The pho was tasty and the ingredients were fresh, the sliced chicken breast on the other hand was a little bit dry and could use some dark meat for an enhanced flavor? 3.5 Stars for reasonably priced food and outstanding service. Our FAVORITE pho spot we've been coming to for 10 years, it's always so delicious. The beef spring rolls were fresh, flavorful, and honestly one of my favorite things we ordered. The dipping sauce was very delicious. The rare beef pho soup was rich, comforting lots of flavor, the broth tasted like it had been simmering for hours. My Hubs ordered #34 rice plate with beef, 2 egg rolls & salad, it was a good portion, he said it was a satisfying meal. The beef was well seasoned, the egg rolls were crispy, and everything paired really well together. The customer service has really gone down hill at this place. I have been coming here for years even before I had a baby, it used to be one of my favorite spots. I decided to have lunch here with my son, we got our usual, 2 small well done brisket pho and a side of spring rolls. Whoever the guy is that takes the order and serves the food doesn't speak or ask if we needed anything. I had to ask for water. When we were finished I kept trying to pay the bill and kept getting ignored. When I verbally said, " I want to pay the bill", the guy behind the cashier said that their machine wasn't working and I had to pay cash. I told him that I didn't have any cash, he said to pay with Zelle. What would have happend if I didn't even have Zelle? Very inconvenient and inconsiderate. Didn't even get an apology or anything. The moment you open the door, the aroma of the pho broth fills the room--it's such an inviting smell and immediately makes you excited to eat! All of the staff were so sweet, friendly, and efficient. They worked together like a well-oiled machine, and the service was excellent. Our food came out quickly, and everything was fresh and incredibly flavorful. I thought I'd give this place a try from the recommendation of yelp and well since I've tried so many good Vietnamese places the bar is high. The garlic noodles were ok lacking salt wish there was more of a punch from the garlic since it's garlic noodles. The prawns were ok lacked seasoning and flavor and once again needed just a tad more salt. The fried shrimp wrapped in wontons was ok love the crunch but once again lacked seasoning and well needed a little bit more salt. All in all the food was ok also I ordered the thai tea but was a little too sweet. I really was looking forward to being wowed but unfortunately for the lack of seasoning and salt and an overly sweet thai tea I will not be going back unfortunately hopefully they change however my waiter was very friendly and efficient so the service was great at least I can give them that. read more

Pho Oh Tasty... it's time for another review update since I've been back a few times now. This time we dined in as there was no wait on a Saturday early evening meal. Service was good. Pho noodles are still decent with generous amounts of noodles (4 out of 5). Veggie & Tofu soft fried noodles are delicious but too much sauce. I like this dish as their a good amount of veggies and tofu (5 of 5). My favorite was the Tofu Spring rolls...perfect for a hot day. Came here a week ago when I was recovering from a cold, needed some nice hot pho to help! Nice little restaurant with plenty of seats. Almost all the tables were full which was a good sign to me! It smelled amazing as soon as I walked in. Asked if I could order to-go and they said no problem. I got a large pho bowl with rare brisket and a side of pork paste spring rolls. The pho was absolutely delicious. I added a little sriracha and hoisin sauce which just hit the spot. The brisket was tender and a pretty generous amount as well. The springs rolls were fresh with a nice crunch from the cucumber, the grilled pork paste tasted very good. Their peanut sauce was also delish, I found myself dipping every bite in it. The food was ok, but the customer service from the female owner was MINUS 5 stars. I ordered to go on the phone, the female owner was extremely rude. I tried to explain please don't contaminate anything like soy sauce or gluten to the broth because of gluten dietary restriction. She impatiently said ya, ya and before I can finish my sentence, she hung up on me and didn't even ask for my name. When I went to pickup the food, the female owner ran me up and didn't ask if I wanted a receipt. I looked at her and she stared at me, and I had to ask for a receipt. She handed the receipt to me and didn't even look at me. With no thank you or acknowledgement that I was a customer. She treated me with disrespect and zero gratitude. It felt like she thinks I should be thanking her for being privileged to be able to eat her food. I have never been treated so badly in a restaurant like this. I got rare steak pho and egg rolls. The food was pretty good and solid. It seemed like it was a hole in the wall kind of restaurant. I had to take 4 stars off because their service is complete trash. I felt so rushed my whole meal until I left. There were barely any people there and I just felt so rushed. They kept going back and forth to our table cleaning things up while we were eating. I was talking to my friend while eating but I felt like we couldn't really enjoy our meal because of how rushed we felt. Don't go here. It's not worth it. We ordered Banh Mi (beef and pork) and shrimp spring rolls and penout souse that was very bitter. We didn't like it...The Banh mi was so soggy! Both of them! They smelled like burnt meat. Some of the best Pho in town! I know a lot of people like mama Hong's down the street, but this place has my heart. Little mom and Pop shop-we come here pretty frequently but more so when it's cold outside. Their vermicelli combos are wonderful as are their spring rolls and egg rolls. But their pho broth is amazing. Service is fast and friendly. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of is when one of the entres wasn't to our liking, it did not taste right ... they did not offer an alternative or to switch the food out, nor a discount but that's OK I supposed. I did drink the broth by itself and although a bit salty, it was good umami. Be prepared to be set back $8 for 2 goi cuon and $9 for 2 Bo cuon. Inflation my behind. They literally stretched two shrimp to try and pass for a filled roll. The tables are standard and the service just like any other no nonsense Viet joint. Went in last night on our way back to Irvine from Silverlakes Sports Complex. We ordered a few different bowls of pho (18, 20, 21). The service was quick. But the bowls were mostly noodles (probably 1.5 - 2 times what other places give), and lacking in the actual purpose of the bowl - the rare beef, well done brisket, tendon, and tripe. My own #18 of rare beef and tripe had 3 or 4 small slices of rare beef, and only 2 very thin strips of tripe. Then, after the table next to us left, one of the workers came out with a mop smelling strongly of Pine Sol, which makes you enjoy the food even less because now you can't stop smelling the Pine Sol. We don't travel through this area much but I doubt we'll be coming back. read more

OMG!!! I've been gatekeeping this unassuming family owned spot. This may be my favorite pho spot ever, even beating Phoholic. Every time I come, the quality is always the same. The noodles are perfectly chewy and the broth is super clean and flavorful. This is the only spot where I can drink all the broth clean.
