Later on, I was able to meet the owners at the Eastridge Mid-Autumn Festival and they were sweet owners making their dreams come to life. Orange Sunset = If you like a sweet fruit drink that reminds you of a relaxing summer day, I would highly suggest. However, it is a bit too sweet for my radar, but the flavors are perfect. The Pandan tasted authentic with the flavoring, tasting the plant but still going down easy. The Corn refresher tasted exactly like the sweet corn snacks from my childhood. We found this place first at SJMade and resolved to come the pop up location here. The server was really nice and helpful, and they even thanked us for stopping by. For me, the corn cloud tasted like corn (which was expected), but the flavor really did justice to Vietnamese dessert. Personally, it was still much too sweet. I couldn't find the taste buds to finish it since it almost made me a bit overwhelmed with how sweet it was. Ngl when I first saw this on my Yelp search I thought that green drink seemed a little familiar. :eyes: BUT I saw they had other unique flavors, so I decided to try and support a small business. Upon arriving I saw there was activity around the doors of the place so I got confused, but they really are strictly a drive-thru. The guy was nice enough to guide me through it though, and service was really fast. I got the Corn Cloud. Since they are still new, they only have a fixed sweetness and ice level; that's why I knocked it down to 4 stars. The drink was a little too sweet for me, but the corn flavor was great. I would love to come back and try again once they set up sweetness adjustments. I'm excited about the Bay Area's first milk tea drive-thru--such a great addition, especially since it's a staple in LA and OC! I tried the Pandan Dream; while it was a bit sweet for me, it was still tasty. The soy milk flavor with a hint of pandan reminded me of the mung bean milk tea from 7 Leaves. Sitting in the parking lot writing this review since I want to support new businesses lmao Was driving in the area late at night and the huge MoDo sign that looked like a lime caught my eye LOL they weren't open but I went through the drive thru and their drinks sounded pretty interesting, esp the corn cloud. Tried to find it on yelp the next day and saw it's called Nha Cafe instead so I drove to Santa Clara to try them out. The workers were super friendly and told us about how they're connected to MoDo and they sell the food but the drinks are from Nha Cafe. The owner even came out to talk to us for a bit how they're a pop up for now and him and his wife are looking to settle down into a brick and mortar sometime next year. I could really tell he was really passionate about his drinks and enjoyed what he did which was a nice refresher with all the soulless, money grabbing spots popping up everywhere. The Pandan dream was super nice and creamy and it almost reminded me of the mung bean milk tea from 7leaves which I love, def was refreshing. The corn cloud tho, not really anything I've ever had before it was so unique. It tastes almost like the Filipino sweet corn puffs iykyk. It also had a foam on top which I thought would be like a salted cheese but the owner told us it was a coconut foam omg the corn cloud was def my fav one and I'll probably be back a few more times while they still have the pop up! Definitely a taste of home. Although I'm not viet, growing up in east side SJ, I've had my fair share of the viet food culture. What I really like about this place is that they really put in the time and effort in not only making each drink, but also the process of experimenting and creating the recipe. In addition, their hospitality is super friendly and down-to-earth. If you check out their IG page, you can see this young couple grow from a backyard pop up to now their drive thru space which is at an amazing location in Santa Clara. Anyways for the actual review, I tried the pandan dream during their soft opening and usually, I'm a very slow sipper, like I will literally take half a day or more in drinking a cup of whatever. However, this was not the case here. I finished my drink within 10 minutes because of how good and refreshing it was. I do wish I had asked for less ice because my teeth are pretty sensitive to the cold and plus I wanted more to drink too. I also really liked that it's not heavy like most milky drinks can be because I went to go workout right after I drank it and I felt fantastic. The balance between all the flavors was great too, nothing overpowering and I'm glad it's not that sweet either as I've seen other spots put so much condensed milk in theirs.
