We started going to Nibs before shelter-in-place and have been ordering from them every week since shelter-in-place. We always get the French Toast plate and the French Toast Hot Off the Griddle. If you cannot tell, we're big fans of the french toast. They also do bacon perfectly crisp. The service is great! Love this place and the family. First time visitor and very impressed. The service is great and has a family twang to it. Food was great - got the mini breakfast which was perfect size for a person who doesn't eat too much. I felt seen! The only reason for the minus 1 star is that dang bell on the door. So happy to have this satisfying food option nearby. Garden burger was solid, and I love that they give you so many options for what you want on the side. Sometimes I fancy french fries, sometimes a crisp salad to balance out the burger. I rejoice even to have those 2 options. They go beyond that- you can also choose home fried potatoes, soup or a couple of other options- amazing! Gluttonous me couldn't decide between salad and home fries so I ordered an additional side and got both. Everything tasted yummy and fresh. I liked the way my home fries were cooked- just the right amount, not swimming in grease, generous in portion- simple potato satisfaction for the potato-lover. Wow. Just wow. This place was amazing. Had the Big Juicy Burger, added avocado and bacon. They weren't stingy on anything. The bun was soft and perfectly toasted. The patty cooked just right. Everything made fresh to order. Also, the servers and cook (the owners maybe?) were so kind and welcoming. It felt like eating at a family members house. 100% recommend you try it out. Hidden gem in Oakland owned by the sweetest and most friendly Korean couple. We ordered the chicken teriyaki (get the salad with Italian dressing - wow!!), corned beef hash, and a pancake. Food is on point - solid comfort food, done well! Super generous portions - will likely last more than one meal for the average eater. Best pancakes anywhere, Alex is a man who knows his trade. Everything they make is done well and with a service you only expect to see in an old tv show. I really enjoy coming to Nib's. It has a great vibe, a great menu of traditional diner food and very welcoming service. You can tell it's a neighborhood favorite for a lot of people. All the patrons who show up appear to have been here before a few times already and everyone is always very happy to be here. The waitress was nice. Food was alright. Ambience was great. Homeless guy walked in asking if they could sell him a cup of coffee for a dollar- the guy immediately said- the coffee is $2.81 sorry. I asked for the coffee to be put on my tab. The guy asked for food so i said yes to that as well. They were very displeased. The guy even asked if he could eat it inside- they said NO! I'm sorry what? Thats how we treat people now? I felt disgusting for supporting a busy that behaves like this toward anybody! The guy was given his food and sent away to eat on the curb! I used to go to their original location, then went to the San Pablo place quite a few times. I was shocked when they disappeared.... no one around seemed to know anything. Then in today's news, Bingo! Hannah and Alex are back, and in a much nicer and larger spot. I immediately went and in a 'same as it ever was', everything was Great. I'm partial to the omelets; large, packed with whatever you could want, excellent potatoes, and for me it's also the little things, rye toast that is still warm, none of that cold toast that ruins a good breakfast. I love Nibs! Nibs encompasses so much of what I love about a neighborhood brunch spot: hearty portions, friendly service, and a solid selection of sweet and savory meals. I'm normally a savory breakfast person but when I saw their French toast with blueberries I had to give it a try and I have ZERO regrets. It had the perfect balance of cinnamon sugar on thick cuts of bread. This is my new go to brunch spot and I'll be back to try their lunch menu. read more

I love Nibs and I have a crush on Hanna. Their son is stepping up too and Alex is the best cook in the area. HOWEVER! Someone needs to tell them how important CLEAN WINDOWS are to any business. It's a Zen thing. The windows are dirty and all it would take is 30-45 minutes of sponging them down and squeejee them followed by a towel touch up. Inside and out. Hell I'd do it for $100 and I would take it out in breakfast's. I don't want to hurt their feelings but I've been meaning to tell them this for a few months. The food is literally AMAZING! My favorite thing to get from here is the rib-eye steak sandwich. They serve it on sourdough sliced bread with tomato, lettuce, and fries on the side. They also give you a slice of melon to go with it . read more

This place was SO good! I'm not from around the area so I wanted a good local place to try out and I was not disappointed. I had to call a few times before I was finally able to talk to someone to place my order, but I understand they were busy. They have a few spots outside for outdoor dining, but we got our food to go. I paid about $50 + tip for 4 breakfast meals which I think is a reasonable price. The owners were super nice and helpful, please give them a visit I promise you won't regret it! read more
