Was really impressed with the type of meats, veggies, and other goodies they have to offer. I highly recommend putting a English label or at least a small picture icon (ie cow emoji for beef) for those who can't read Chinese. First things first, you sit down and scan the QR code to order the soup and any other sides/meats/drinks on your phone. My fam and I don't eat spicy, so we ordered the tomato broth and pork bone broth. The broth is kind of expensive BUT you can take it and any leftovers to-go, which we did and later made noodles with it at home. So good! We had a lot of fun discovering the different skewers and free appetizers up front. Our fav is the marinated chicken feet. For meats, we preferred the meat plates ordered on your phone. It's definitely a lot of fun since each person can pick out the items they want and cook it themselves, but just beware that certain items (namely the items that come in colored bowls of various shapes and sizes) are vastly overpriced. The soup base is $12.95 and you can select 2 different types. We got the tomato and pork ones, which were both quite delicious. The pork one was my favorite though! Highly recommend it. The skewers cost 45 cents each, with certain items coming with two skewers attached, which equates to 90 cents. The idea of cooking with skewers so you can easily keep track of and fish out your items from the big pot of soup is pretty smart, though also bad for the environment. I think the meat items are pretty good, but some of the other items can be a bit of a rip off. For example, if you want taro, a tiny cube of it the size of my thumb costs a whopping 45 cents. They do have a great variety of items though- including lotus roots, quail eggs, seafood etc. They also charge $1.95 per person for the all you can eat snack bar they have located at the front of the restaurant (not very sanitary, as it is wide open to the outdoor pollution as well as close in proximity to the mob of people waiting for a table.) This snack bar is pretty nice with tasty offerings like fruit (watermelon, grapes), peanuts, chicken feet, sweet potato fries, edamame, and various types of Chinese dessert soups. My biggest mistake was getting the red bowl of mixed vegetables. You'd think vegetables would be cheap, but it was $7.95 for veggies that probably would've cost me less than $1 at the market. So I'd say skip on the veggies here, although what's hotpot without some good veggies? :/ Ooh also, they have a ton of sauce options. The broth is flavorless sometimes bitter and unappetizing, the meat specifically the beef is terrible (60% fat, and the rest is unchewable jerky even when undercooked) Rice is dry, the WATER tastes like plastic and has this genuinely awful taste of plastic. Bearing an authentic Sichuan experience in the heart of SGV, Nice 2 Meet U is arguably the best skewer hot pot I've had (at least better than Malubianbian). If it wasn't for my international girlfriend, I would never have even thought of coming to this place as an ABC. For starters, they have many soup bases to choose from. I'd recommend getting a split pot, just to try the different soup bases; I'd recommend a bone broth/tomato soup paired with a mild/medium spicy pot (leaning more towards mild since these southwestern Chinese girls define spice). You can ask for refills of soup free of charge. This is a self serve place, with you getting up (yes ppl, walk) to get your own skewers/plates of raw meat and veggies. They charge by the skewer count and plate count, and you can easily rack up a bill, so a boba drink to top off your tummy never hurts! Everything is so delicious, but as a foreigner, you're better off just looking at the meats you want instead of deciphering chinese code. If you can, bring a friend who can read chinese; you'll get a feeling you're in China real quick. The front of the store lies not only free sauces to combine for your own pleasure (thanks tiktok), but an unlimited supply of fruits and side dishes that pair well with this hot pot style. I've been in this plaza several times, but I don't think I've actually noticed this restaurant until recently. With such a unique sounding name, it definitely is memorable! There's another location in Rowland, but this particular one opened up within the last year or so. They're located in the Hilton plaza - plenty of parking underground if you can't find ground level parking. The basic concept of this restaurant is hot pot with skewers. Each pot comes with the option of two different soup bases (total of six different broths to choose from). From there, you can pick your skewer selections from the menu (prices are a little bit more expensive) or go to the refrigerated section and "shop around" for the ingredients that you want to eat. In the refrigerated section, there's pretty much all you can think of that's stuck to a skewer - meats, meats that have some vegetables inside, marinated meat (all the meats seem to be beef), fish balls, beef balls, corn, bamboo, etc. There are also larger trays (prices are indicated by the color of the trays) of the same ingredients, I guess that is usually shared amongst the table. There's also a sauce bar in the front where you can mix sauces and condiments as well as a dessert and appetizer area in the front of the restaurant (sesame balls, seaweed salad, grass jelly, etc). The items are unfortunately all labeled in Chinese, so I had to use my deduction skills and basically grabbed whatever items that looked good. Ended up finding some pretty tasty beef that had cilantro inside as well as some intestines. Even though the meat was cooked in the broth, I think the meat's quality was really good that I didn't taste any of the broth it was cooked in and only got the true flavor of the meat itself. The beef ball, quail eggs, duck intestine, lotus root were all tasty. I wasn't a big fan of the sauces that were offered - but maybe because I didn't know what they were and I ended up grabbing soy sauce. Skewers are $0.45 cents each and they count the number of skewers and trays at the end of the meal before totaling up the bill. I really enjoyed the overall concept! You pay a flat fee for the broth (two soup option for $12.95) and then you control the rest of the bill by the number of skewers that you grab. The place does get busy on the weekends! This is my first time trying a hot pot & skewer place. It's a interesting concept. My family came like at 9pm on a sunday night and there was still a 20 minute wait. You pay for basically everything except the sides they have near the door. I also thought that was a bit unsanitary because people were walking in and out and the door was left open and there's cars passing by outside in the parking lot. So you pay for the soup base and everything that you get, there is a fridge with all the meats/veggies and they charge based on the color of the container and the number of sticks from the meat. Nothing brightens my day like hot pot with great company! Nice 2 Meet You is located in a pretty busy plaza in the heart of San Gabriel; it is in the plaza adjacent to the Hilton Hotel located on Valley Blvd and has plentiful of underground parking (and it's FREE parking too). Perfect spot to eat and take a breeze (... to the local boba shops haha) after a good meal. They are definitely a must-try hot pot spot since it is my first time seeing a hot pot restaurant that put veggies / meat in skewers. My friends and I ordered the Spicy Beef Tallow Soup in medium spice and Chinese Herbal Soup. The broth had a nice aroma, and was very rich with flavor that all the food we cook was so delicious! I sometimes even forget to dip in the sauce I made at the sauce bar since the broth really coated the food well. What makes them special is that they have 4-5 fridges of hot pot ingredients you can get up and choose from. They really made sure we got variety because I saw fish balls, tofu, tons of vegetables, meats, and so much more. All I can say is that what I wanted, they got it! As for pricing, the skewers were 40/45 cents each and for the colored boxes of food-- each have different pricing. Please check the picture I attached for the menu pricing. They also have meat you could order on the menu, and a couple of other hot food that we order like the fried rice and crispy fried pork! And the best part about this place, since they have a lot of variety you can most likely try new items that you haven't before! My friends and I got the pineapple wrapped in beef on a skewer. It was odd combination, but it worked so well together. I ended up loving this combo a lot. Also I tried these freshly made shrimp balls and they were so chewy and delicious. Now I can't eat those store bought shrimp balls anymore without thinking about these delicious ones I got at this place. And let's not forget, the customer service here is pretty good! They waiter came by couple of times checking to make sure we were hydrated. My only two concerns would be the lack of translation of the items in the fridge and the placement of the dessert/appetizer bar was a bit questionable. The translations would be super helpful for folks that are looking to try hot pot for the first time, and seeing what they are eating will make them feel a bit more comfortable and makes the restaurant more welcoming in general. As for the dessert/appetizer bar, it located near the front door where when the door opens.. dust can come in and such. It would make more sense if the food was place elsewhere, or if they have a barrier (aka a lid) to cover the food. I haven't eaten hot pot skewers for a long time. As a native of Chengdu, this restaurant is amazing to me. I think their taste is quite authentic. I also found pig's brain and flavored aorta that I like very much here. Maybe for some friends, some Sichuan hot pot ingredients are very strange to them, but for me who grew up in Sichuan, these are very common ingredients. Yesterday was my first time ever visiting, and I totally get that it was busy, but if what you're saying is "order everything through the qr code," then the prices should match. It's not that I never bothered to ask how to order either, but even if I didn't ask, if you charge per bowl and skewer, then please tell your customers ahead of time so that they know what they are ordering and what they are paying for. I asked my server how to order, and he only explained how you just order everything through the qr code and only explained how each skewer was 0.49 cents, but failed to explain how they charged for other bowls. If on the app it says, your total is 55 dollars, then I'm going to expect to pay 55 dollars, nothing less, nothing more (besides tip). But what came out instead of 55 dollars was 229 dollars. I was more than confused because no one ever came to explain to me how to order or how the pricing works, when on the app, most of what I ordered literally says 0.00 dollars. When I asked the lady who brought my receipt why it was so expensive, that's when she explained how they charged per ceramic bowl. I then explained that no one ever told me that, and then I showed her the guy who served me, he just came and only talked to her, he said how he just explained the rules to me, and walked away, never talked to me, and never even bothered to try and resolve the issue. Mind you, i'm not old or too young, and i'm very mindful about where and how I spend my money, since it was my first time, I always make sure to ask a lot of questions about how to order and such just to make sure I don't get charged for things I don't wanna be charged for. You walk in and all the free snacks/appetizers are just right there (maybe 10+items), seems like a very odd place to put it right by the door. I like hot pot and I do like skewers but prefer them on a bbq. You sit down and prefer your soup(s) then help yourself to the many refrigerators along the wall which have an extensive selection of meat and vegetables. Each skewer is a dollar I believe which sounds amazing until you realize they're bite size and you'll probably need about 50 to get full, problem is some of the items have 2 sticks attached so those are 2 bucks and add up quicker. Most of the meat is not even high quality like wagyu so it feels cheap. In the end we spent over 400 for a group of 6 which I think was not worth it, if I'm being honest I was not full either. It is the traditional Mala, or numbing spicy, but I enjoyed it a lot and did not think it was too spicy. Bone broth could use a bit more flavor but I'm not drinking the soup so it's alright. You'll have some options for specialty meats and cuts from the paper menu, and there are some solid choices here. We enjoyed the lamb shoulder and beef tongue. Located at the mini mall next to the Hilton, this restaurant has quite the ideal outdoor dining set up to enjoy dining outside in LA's perfect weather. There is plenty of social distancing from the other tables and the surrounding restaurants in the mini mall. I also noticed that the restaurant follows all safety protocols and the tables are kept clean. Anyway, to start off with, we were handed a menu with all the selections broths, meats, and veggies along with some a la carte items. It is particularly important to choose the right broth. A friend wanted the Chinese Herbal broth base whereas I had every desire for something spicy. My other friend likes both. After discussing the broth selections with the server, we found that the Chinese Herbal broth and the Beef Bone broth were similar. We ended up opting for the Chinese Herbal broth and the Spicy Beef Tallow broth. Yes, it's a sort of ying and yang contrast of broths to try. I have to admit that it was a lot of food items ordered from the menu that we missed out on the restaurant's more interesting selections...the skewers of various meats, veggies, and seafood like shrimps, scallops, and fish balls. They have a wider variety of skewers than the other hot pot restaurants that I have dined at around the SGV area. The price per skewer is not so bad at 35-cents to $1.20 depending on the item. These prices are comparable to the other restaurants around town. Therefore, our next dining experience at Nice 2 Meet U Hot Pot is to partake on the skewers only and the broths. The common misconception of dining at a hot pot restaurant is how to eat from a hot pot. Those who are new to the hot pot dining experience think that a hot pot is a soup cauldron. It is not the case. The broths are not necessarily a soup, but rather simmering broths to cook/stew the items that you order. Some other tips worth knowing: 1. You can taste the broth to see if it needs some additional condiments to your liking. 2. You can ask your server to add more broth when the hot pot has run low. 3. The broth loses its original taste after cooking variety of items, because all the juices have rendered itself in the broth. I liked that all veggies had a wonderful herbally aroma and soothing taste when stewed in the Chinese Herbal Broth for three minutes. The fresh sliced Bamboo Shoots, the fresh noodles, lamb, and shrimp benefitted from the Spicy Beef Tallow broth. Oh, how they transformed into something wonderful to eat yet it was not too spicy to burn your taste palate. The Spicy Beef Tongue and the various chicken and beef offals were more endearing simmered in the Spicy Beef Tallow broth. Each bite was incredibly tender after the cooking process and they had the right amount of tingly spice to excite my taste buds. I was more than pleased with my entire dining experience at Nice 2 Meet U Hot Pot restaurant in San Gabriel. My friends were equally pleased too. Good service, great food selections, and exceptional broths. I especially love that they have outdoor dining as an option during the pandemic. I hope that the mini mall makes the outdoor dining set-up a permanent thing for all the restaurants. read more

This location is located in a super busy plaza right across from focus plaza. I feel like we got lucky with parking. Food here is great! You order your soup base from the QR code as pick the skewers from the fridge. I love the idea of the skewers because you get to try a bit of everything instead of ordering a dish and not liking it. The price is also very reasonable. What I don't like was the snack bar being at the entrance. It felt like the food would be contaminated and it is literally right at the entrance with the doors wide opened.. people walking by and it just felt like bugs and sorts could fly around and land on the food. Snack bar was a pass for me and it was too bad because I really wanted to try it! Hopefully they have a better place to locate the snack bar at the next visit. read more

Been planning on trying this restaurant ever since we saw it pop up in this plaza in Rowland heights...but like, it's far lol Came here with friends and kids. Staff seated us fairly quickly (our kids can't stand still) and tbf there's no "wait space". Smokers also smoke right at the entrance where the open doors can blow the smoke right in. Just FYI if you're sensitive. The menu was alright. Could use some instructions for first timers (maybe put them on the wall or on the menu) especially since wait staff aren't the friendliest or most vocal bunch. Alcohol selection could use some beefing. Pitchers are affordable at $11 each but the next price point is...$38? $45? Uhh. I did see parties bring their own bottles and pay a cork fee but I'm not sure how much it is. I find the tables rather small for parties. There's no space for plates and bowls and no space for raw foods you want to cook. It's like they don't want you to gather a ton of food and cook it all...which doesn't make sense because the more we think we'll eat later the more $$ they earn since we're charged by the skewer/box. So my issue is mainly with the length of the skewers. These are bbq skewers, which is why they're so long. If you eat this in China, or at a Szechuan restaurant, the skewers are about 2/3 or even half this length, which makes them easier to hold/eat, easier to cook (aka fit in the pot) and easier to keep on the table. These extremely long skewers I think work if you have a single flavor pot...maybe. But they're still pretty long. Finally the bone broth was pretty tasteless and the "spicy" pot was...not spicy. They use pepper oil (which is spicy) but as it weakens or you eat there's less of it and the base itself is not spicy. read more

My favorite dishes are cilantro beef, pineapple beef, shrimp ball, tofu skin, frozen tofu, trips, and so many more. They also have a snacks bar when you walked into the restaurant. We were excited to find out they Nice 2 Meet U opened up here in San Diego. We keep seeing this hot pot spot on Tiktok and glad we didn't have to drive up to the OC. You pick your soup bases and meats with the server and the big thing here are the selection of skewers that you get to choose from. The selections were plentiful even for vegetarians as they had plates of veggies, skewers for seafood lovers and meat lovers. Now, the 2 star rating is mainly from the poor service, messy sauce station and the "mild" broth that was hardly mild. The mild broth was super spicy and the broth was way too red for it to be mild. Mostly not their fault but the sauce station was a mess with flavors mixed in and the toppings all over the place. Service was poor to fair as it took awhile to get anyone's attention even though it wasn't busy. Parking in the Convoy area is as expected with this place. read more
