Satisfying White Ragu Cream - pork and beef - pasta dish. Portion was fair. Garlic bread was kinda weak. Nice guy in the window.

Food ans service was amazing. They make everything from scratch, and you can tell. Can't wait to try more of the menu.

First time dining here, and the food was delicious. We went all out and ordered a caesar salad,…read morethree entrées, and two desserts. We shared all the items, and we were glad we did, so we got a little taste of everything. The raviolini and the cavatelli were tied for my two favorites, but I enjoyed everything we had. This tiramisu was probably the best I've ever had, and the olive oil cake was something I'd never tried, and I found it to be tasty. The service was great. The host and the servers were all very polite and attentive. I made a reservation online, and I was glad I did because the restaurant really filled up fast. I enjoyed the ambiance. The restaurant had a clean decor. It was a cozy space. The restaurant was located in a neighborhood setting. There was ample parking. I look forward to returning in the future.

Even though it was Saturday on nice evening, we were able to snag an outside table to accommodate having our dog. The meatballs were good, ground fine. I liked the red sauce and the bread was a welcomed addition. Caesar Salad was just okay, no pepper offered. Chianti was very nice! Liver Pate was phenomenal!!! I needed to ask for a few more crostini though. Cannoli was the star - crispy, creamy, chocolaty, and nutty! Recommended overall! I will be back to try some pasta!

However, it Took almost 40 mins for my order to be completed. While I'm understanding of being busy and backed up, it seemed excruciatingly long. While sitting and waiting I was able to observe some things, The person taking the orders, was also prepping orders, and failing to wash their hands from working the register to going back to food prep. Kinda foul. Especially for not using gloves at any point. They also had a rice crispy treat prep sitting out, where I saw people continue to lean over to grab their food. It was moved at one point. To the pickup counter where it sat on the counter, where pickups are placed. That being said, I would not eat here due to the lack of food safety awareness.

I ordered it through DoorDash the other night and was incredibly disappointed. First of all, I discovered they no longer make my go-to, the penne Rosa. Why. Why would you take away that delicious dish? I got the roasted garlic tortellini instead and it was meh. I love garlic, but it was so overpowering in that dish. Then they gave me a house salad rather than the Caesar I asked for. But the house salad was the highlight of the meal so wasn't super upset about that one. Lastly, and most disappointing.. the Rice Krispie. It was so stale and it tasted like the plastic that it had been wrapped in for probably 3+ days. Legit a plastic flavored stale Rice Krispie. Noodles, what are you doing?? Get it together.

What a find! The food was Pacific Northwest dining using local ingredients and making them shine. We had 3 starters, which allowed us to try different things. The oysters with gelee and the carrot salad (which they split for us) were standouts. My pasta entree was fabulous, with crunchy texture from crispy sun chokes (genius). The dessert tasted homey though also unique. Service from beginning to end was friendly, very knowledgeable and thoughtful. Wine pairing recommendations were on point. If I lived in Portland, this would be on regular rotation. Highly recommend.

But they also gave the option to pre-purchase cookies or caviar, which is a fun way to surprise the reservation party members. We had bar seats and left the option open to order à la carte or go with their prix fixe. The example menu on the website is several months out of date, so I was not quite sure what we'd get. But I understand the focus of this restaurant to be fresh, in-season food, locally sourced, vegetable-forward, French-inspired. It's a neat location near Mt Tabor. There's not a lot nearby, so it feels like a destination. There is a small parking lot next door, which is convenient. You enter through their market/oyster bar. There's not an immediately clear check-in table. And you're walked through the back to the other side where the Coquine dining room is. It feels a tad underwhelming - perhaps too casual for the finer dining expectation. Additionally, the person who greeted us was a tad surly. Service was friendlier during dinner but a little less hands-on than I'd like. I liked the design of the restaurant. Good lighting, natural decor, red countertop. They are a "zero foodprint" restaurant so the napkins and coasters are washable, serving utensils are wood, etc. It gave a very organic feel. Okay that said! We ordered the following à la carte: -Half dozen oysters (fun toppings - pomegranate gelee) -Bread and butter (normal, would skip next time) -Roasted carrots -Shaved cauliflower salad -Potato gnocchi -Pan seared black cod (our favorite) -Citrus tart (unique) Everything was tasty: well prepared, beautiful to look at, fun sauces and elements to discover. It might have been too many cold dishes at the start. We also got a half dozen cookies to go. I've heard that these are the best cookies in the city. They have nuts, which is an immediate disqualifier for me, but even without that I'm not sure they live up to the hype. Very delicious? Sure. Best in the city? I don't know about that. Overall this was a good meal, in a nice atmosphere. It felt very "Pacific Northwest." Worth a visit if you appreciate seasonal, ingredient-driven dining.
