I was in the mood for a home cooked Italian dinner and Nick's nailed it. Amazing service Delicious food Great ambience 5/5 star meal

A real neighborhood type spot. Not fancy, not overpriced and solid food, although not amazing. They did bring out some interesting bread with oil on the house. Wines by the glass were decently priced with generous pours. We had a salad with tiny chopped tomatoes, olives and cucumbers. It was very refreshing. My better half ordered the chicken cacciatore and said it needed a bit more flavor so he added salt and that helped some. My dish was the Chicken with Artichokes. It tasted just like chicken piccata but without the capers. Service was very professional and friendly. When we want Italian and don't want to break the back we might return.

We went to Nick's at the recommendation of friends. They were impressed with the variety of Italian cuisine. What a treat! It wasn't a very big place in a small strip mall with just enough parking. I noticed all tables sitting, no booths so that they could accommodate any size party. The menu was enormous with a wide variety of favorite Italian food including but not limited to pizza, pasta, beef, veal, and seafood dishes. My wife and guest selected eggplant parmigiana, our friend Dev picked a wonderful Salmon dish and I picked my all time favorite Chioppino. Of course I believe I got the best entree on the menu that included shrimp, calamari, mussels, in a wonderful marinara sauce on a bed of linguine, I was in New York heaven. We all had such big portions there was no room for dessert; however, the ample and delicious drinks made up for it. It's easy for me to recommend Nicks to you for an excellent dining experience at a moderate price!

Okay food and service here. I'm not much for southern Italian food, even though I am Italian. But if you generally like Italian food, you'll probably like it. I would have given then one more star if their bread seemed homemade or was authentically Italian.

Everything was very good, and the sauce on the pizza was especially excellent. Service was good -- not great, but good. The DJ actually added some nice ambience to the place and gave the restaurant a good vibe. Now here's my problem. This is a BIG restaurant. I'm not talking about some tiny little neighborhood place where they have to squeeze every table into every corner. Yet somehow, they sat the four of us right next to the server computer station, where the staff is constantly coming and going, punching in checks, picking things up, walking back and forth -- the whole time you're trying to eat dinner. And to make it worse, that table is close to the front door. This is Arizona. Every time that door opens, you get a blast of heat. I can only imagine in colder weather you'd get the opposite problem. I've been around restaurants a long time, and some tables just shouldn't be tables. That's one of them. I understand nobody wants to give up a four-top, but in a restaurant that size, come on. Move the table or get rid of it. The guest experience should be worth more than squeezing in four extra seats. The food absolutely deserves a return visit. Just do yourself a favor if they try to seat you by that computer station near the front door, ask for another table.

We weren't ready! I think he was disappointed that we were not going to build a big bar tab. Only 2 of us ordered from the bar list. Now to the food. We've eaten at this place many many times over the years. And returned because the food and service were excellent. However this time, our food was far from what we expected, and the waiter seemed like he wished he were anywhere else but there! The appetizer ordered was so haphazardly put on the plate, and was also not tasty. My husband's salmon was thin and dry. I don't think this place has seen any updating since it opened. Currently, it feels dank and dirty with no signs of welcoming any changes. It's always sad to see the neglect of management/investors in not protecting their stock in trade- their reputation and respect for their customers.

Unfortunately I can't recall her name but she was helpful and very patient when we asked questions and was very personable! The food was pretty good. I will say we don't eat Italian food very often. The portions are HUGE and can definitely feed 2-3 people per entree. We ordered the shrimp scampi appetizer, a crudo (I think), veal, braised short ribs, and lasagna. The shrimp scampi appetizer was different than I was expecting but it was pretty tasty. I wasn't a big fan of the breadcrumbs so not sure if I'd order again but if that's something you enjoy, I'd recommend it. The crudo was good but I felt it was a little bit fishy. The veal wasn't bad but also didn't feel like anything special? It was tender and cooked well, but didn't really stand out. We ordered the lasagna due to the limited quantity but it fell short and felt really dry. The braised short rib on the other hand was the star of the show. It was soo tender and just a big flavor bomb. Can't recommend the short rib enough. We ordered the tiramisu for dessert and my toddler got some limoncello gelato (unfortunately they were out of all other flavors). We also got complimentary cannolis which were good. We were told they were homemade by the owner's wife as well. My toddler demolished the chocolate chips lol. All in all I would definitely return just for the service and the braised short rib. I also recommend coming with a big group so you can try a few different dishes.

I did go on a first date here and maybe not as romantic as I would have liked -- much more of a family vibe -- or in the bar area was all about sports. It wasn't too loud so that was good since we were doing a lot of talking, LOL. It was a Saturday night and my date had made a reservation but it looked like we could have easily gotten a table without one. There is a parking lot but couldn't tell if it was easy parking because we took an Uber since we were drinkiing. I started with an espresso martini and I would give it a 4/10 -- I think the espresso used was low quality because it wasn't my favorite. My date got a whiskey old fashioned and he liked it. Service was pretty good -- it was a busy Saturday night. I wanted to order a glass of wine with my meal but the server was gone for some time so my date had to flag her down. I ordered the halibut with crab on top and the server recommended a white wine to pair -- I thought it was an usual suggestion but went with it -- she didn't even suggest which white - so I went with a Sav Blanc and it was actually quite good -- I didn't catch the name. We started with some shrimp cocktail and that was pretty good, sauce was tasty. The halibut was actually quite good and cooked to perfection - the crab on top was really good too -- it came on a bed of linguini which was too much -- I didn't really eat that. My date had the filet special with a lobster sauce -- it looked really rich and the portion was huge! He couldn't even eat it all. Overall I enjoyed my meal, I was quite full when we left, LOL! I didn't catch how much the total cost was but I think it had to have been at least $200 -- so definitely some dough will be dropped! But for a special occasion it is worth it.
