The best gyro I've ever had! This family owned business has been around since 1994. There's a reason it's been open for so long and I highly recommend you go in and find out why. My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch, 230pm, and it was consistently full of customers dining in and carrying out. This casual spot is kept clean and can seat maybe 40-50 people. They also have an outdoor area for when the weather permits. Staff members were friendly and our food took about 5-10 minutes. We were in and out within an hour. Back to the gyro.. OH MAH GOODNESS! The meat is seasoned and cooked to perfection. It's tender and full of flavor. The tzatziki sauce they use is also very delicious. The pita brings it all together. All the components of this sandwich is of high quality and HEAVENLY. The portion is generous with very fair pricing. I tried the mozzarella sticks which were better than your standard moz sticks. Seriously... check this place out!

#7 Value Meal - Italian Beef

Very courteous staff. Very clean restaurant. Everything looked great on the menu. I love Italian beef so I went with the value meal. I added mozzarella cheese. When I got it, I was pleasantly surprised to see they baked the Italian beef with a thick slab of mozzarella! Wow this beef is good! I can't wait to come try more of the menu. Highly recommended!

Fast service and fast food with my favorite food stand ambience. Nicky's has been a staple for anyone who wants a great gyro and fries. I crave their gyro with extra tzatziki and lots of onion and tomatoes. Patty Melts are oniony cheesy goodness. Great Chicago style Polish sausage sandwich. Greek potatoes are a hidden gem! I recommend for on the go meal. sure to please!

Pork Souvlaki Sandwich was hot, seasoned perfectly, and delicious!

Fantastic little place! We were visiting the area and looking for something to eat, so after quickly reading some reviews we decided to drop in here. So glad we did! It was busy but things moved quickly. Our counter attendant was patient, friendly, and helpful as it was our first time. DH ordered the beef sandwich combo, I opted for the pork souvlaki combo since none of the Greek joints where we live serve souvlaki, which is a favorite of mine. I overheard several people placing orders for a wild rice soup. We didn't order one but it seemed popular! Our order was called pretty quickly. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. We even took a chicken souvlaki to-go for a family member. The dining area was clean and comfortable. We people watched while waiting for our order, and everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals. Someone was digging into a whole roasted chicken with great enthusiasm. That looked really good! A lot of people were eating soup- not sure if they have more than one kind or if it was the wild rice we overheard, but a lot of people were enjoying it on that chilly and damp day. Prices were very reasonable, too. I could have happily eaten here every day during our visit, and it's definitely on our list for next time!

Pepper n egg dipped with hot giardiniera. Fries well done. Good, not great. Would expect a bigger sandwich at that price, but eggs are pricey at the moment.

Absolutely delicious. This was our first time eating here & for a fast food place, it was very satisfying. The young lady at the register was super patient, kind & helpful. She helped my husband and I with both of our orders bc we came in super indecisive. Our plates didn't take long to be made, everything was fresh & hot when it got to our table. This first impression was everything, i very rarely put 5 stars for a fast food place but I can't wait to go back.

How is Portillo's still in business? Oh yea, chocolate cake shake. Nicky's has better beefs, better burgers and the best dogs in the area.

Before we left I checked the website and saw that they were a cash only business. No problem except we took the 30 minute ride and when we arrived I realized I forgot my wallet at home. Fortunately for us it was a nearby Walgreens where we could get cash. My wife had her wallet so I zelled money to her. Once we got back we then saw that they do in fact take debit/ credit cards. Anywho. It was a no frills place very basic aesthetic nothing special to look at. Just a service counter where you can see them preparing the hot dogs. They do however have a steady line of people! They move the line very fast so you're not waiting long at all. We ordered 3 hot dogs with everything (mustard, onions, relish & sport peppers) the basic depression hot dog. They come with fresh cut fries & we got a fountain Cherry Coke to share. I spent $20 even with tip. The hot dogs were good i wasn't disappointed nice soft bun tasty condiments and a great snap to the hot dogs. I'll give it a 7/10. The fries had a decent amount of salt on them a bit oily and not too crispy but they were fair. They don't have any ketchup in the house. We keep tobacco in the SUV so I added some to the fries for a little bit. Without the tobacco the fries were still tasty. A solid 6.5/10. The service was good. Young people with good customer service. I loved it. 10/10 for service. All in all if I'm in the mood for a drive and a hot dogs I'll go back. If you're in the area and like hot dogs check them out. They also sell tamales. ( I didn't order one) 7.3/10..... all in all. It's really more like 3 1/2 stars! Remember Yelpers ALL reviews are subjective!

I have been a loyal customer for over 15 years, visiting about three times a month, and I always order the same thing: the Famous Chicken Gyro (#14, no tomatoes) with a fresh, made-to-order sack of fries. Until now, I have never had a problem. On 12/15 at approximately 5:10 PM, I came in and ordered my usual and dined in. When I bit into the gyro, after getting past the honey mustard, the chicken was hard, crusty, and completely dried out--clearly overcooked from sitting too long on the rotisserie. While disappointing, I didn't make a big deal out of it. I finished my fries, which were still hot and fresh, and calmly showed the cashier the gyro. I spoke quietly and respectfully and explained that the chicken wasn't good. She was polite and said they would remake it. I thanked her several times and explained that I normally don't complain, but I was hungry and on a short lunch break. I asked if I could take the replacement to go since I was running late. As I grabbed my jacket and returned to the counter, I overheard the cashier telling the two cooks something along the lines of, "It's not like that--he's a nice guy and comes here all the time." I took this as her trying to explain that I wasn't trying to get free food, just that the gyro had been poorly prepared. When I returned to work and opened the replacement gyro, I was shocked. There was a broom bristle placed inside the chicken gyro, hidden under a large amount of honey mustard. I have spent a significant amount of money at this business over the years, and I am beyond angry and disappointed. Putting what appears to be a dirty broom bristle--used to clean floors--into a customer's food is unacceptable, unsanitary, and malicious. Because of how this was handled and how I was treated, I will never return. I am filing complaints and sharing this experience publicly so others are aware. This is not about a bad gyro--it's about employee behavior and food safety, and I hope ownership takes this seriously.
