I really enjoyed the corn beef hash... they make their corn beef in house & every week so you know it's the real deal! Taste so fresh & not salty like other corn beef hash I've had in the past. DON'T GO. 0 starr is more accurate. If you want to wait forever and get the wrong food multiple times, then this is for you. They charge a different price every time for the same food item. The first time the cook wasn't even in the building but the server took our order and didn't tell us this. We waited for at least 40 minutes for the food. The next time, again a long wait, they gave me my sandwich with no bacon but I was charged for it, I kept the receipt to prove it. They give me a bullshit story about how my friend ordered no bacon and it must be her sandwich but I was standing right there, we both got a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. This isn't hard. I must be an idiot to try again but I did. Today, I order the same thing. I get an english muffin, I correct them and ask for a bagel. SHE BRINGS OUT ANOTHER ENGLISH MUFFIN. Finally, I got the bagel. I don't like writing bad reviews. I don't write many reviews period. Hopefully they were just having a bad day. But I won't be back. I ordered for take-out 2 hours in advance. Showed up and they hadn't even started cooking yet. Had to wait 20 minutes when I only had a quick lunch-hour to deal with which is why I ordered in advance in the first place. They couldn't figure out how to take my payment while I was waiting so that I could leave as soon as the food was ready. We were in providence for 2 days. And came here for breakfast because we didn't have our car to drive somewhere else. Probably the worst breakfast I have ever had. I am soooo disappointed that we chose this place. Awful eggs with potatoes. I have never seen potatoes looking like that. Didn't touch. Bacon was dripping oil. Didn't touch. Barely ate their eggs. We ordered a waffle!!!! Omg. It was hard. All sugared. And probably warmed up. Or from a few days ago. I was starving. Their coffee tasted sooo watered down. Anyway. If you are looking for a good breakfast spot downtown.. this is the place to go. It's a small dining room with counter seating. There are many interesting decorations and paintings on the walls to keep your eyes entertained. I ordered the 2 pancakes (added blueberries), 2 eggs, ham, cinnamon raisin bagel and home-fries. The home- fries were sliced (not cubed) and spiced with rosemary which was a savory addition. The ham slice was thick and juicy. The blueberry pancakes were delicious (they weren't fluffy but definitely flavorful). Our server Ashleigh was attentive and offered a nice smile with breakfast. Really wanted to like this place because our waitress was so nice but the food was truly not great. Burger was missing pickled onions, bacon, and aioli and the patty had no seasoning. Stayed in Providence overnight for work and ended up at Nico Bella's for breakfast. It was an excellent choice. The atmosphere is cozy and casual. I felt comfy right away. My server Heather was super friendly and helpful. Others could learn a thing or two about customer service from her. After some recommendations from Heather I ordered bacon, egg, and cheese on a Portuguese muffin. I took the risk of having the eggs prepared over medium. It was a bit messy having the egg yolk ooze all over the plate, but oh so yummy. If your ever in downtown Providence, make Nico Bella's a mandatory stop for breakfast. This was a decent place to sit down and have breakfast. It is like a local diner. The person who I believed was the owner greeted us at the door and showed us to a table. I ordered the scrambled eggs with home fries and English muffin. It also came with a tiny slice of watermelon which was a nice touch. The food was OK, if slightly greasy. The service was fast when we ordered but after we finished, it took us a good 5-10 minutes to locate our waitress for the check. While we were waiting, the owner was making small talk with the table next to us about the artwork on the wall. He also said they will be opening up another location soon. read more

I do have better things to do then stop, take photos and post them here but I feel this is important because of the deflection of the staff and lack of customer service. I fully expect someone to argue, or try to refute and that is okay -- human nature. However, everything I am writing is factual. On February 28, 2019 my wife and I wrapped up a four day visit to Providence and stopped in for breakfast at 1000a.m. We walked in and were told to sit down wherever we would like. At 1020a.m. we went back to the counter because no one had stopped by the table. At the time there were 6 total customers of which we were 2 of the 6. One table left as it appeared they had eaten already. That left 4 customers and at least 5 staff. Our waitress came to our table and we told her that we had a train to catch at 1115a.m. and provided our order. Eggs, bacon, french toast, grits, coffee and toast. We heard the two waitresses arguing about who is responsible for seating. At 1045 we inquired as to our meal -- nothing had been delivered to the table. The waitress came over and stated, 'well, I didn't know that you just sat yourself down.' We informed her that we did not and we did not appreciate that the waitress deflected the reality of the circumstances. I informed the waitress that she was not listening to what we were suggesting and that our sitting down was not the causal reason for the poor service. At this point -- it has now been 45 minutes, 2 more customers have come in so the number is now 6 total customers and still no food. Once the food was brought out it was ill prepared, some of it was cold, the grits were solidified, soggy french toast and unevenly cooked, potatoes were smothered in garlic and I mean completely buried in it and it wasn't cooked in as if it was an after thought to sprinkle garlic powder on the potatoes -- and we had to go back to the counter and ask for cutlery, syrup and ketchup. Ultimately, we paid $32.36 cents for what you see in the pictures. Could have been a one time event but unlikely based on the comprehensive dismissive attitude of the staff. If I could give zero stars I would but you have to have at least a single star. read more

So we are new to the Providence area and recently purchased season tickets to the PPAC and decided to arrive early (I needed to get my iPhone fixed). We headed to the Apple store in the mall and dropped off hen phone then walked over to Nico Bella's. Nancy greeted us and served us with impeccable service throughout our meal. We ordered the anchovy pasta and the seafood pasta plus a bottle of wine. Daniel, the owner, was very ensuring that all customers were satisfied with their experience. We left for the show and at intermission, completely confused and disappointed with the performance, we walked out of PPAC and headed back to Nico Bella's for Jazz night. Another round of drinks and great service! Overall the food is in the 'ok-good' range, but the service is outstanding. We'll be back before every show. Maybe we'll see you there! Enjoy! read more

My wife and I stopped here around noon on a Wednesday. I immediately felt comfortable here; the place has great ambiance (if I were rating it on ambiance alone, I would rate it five stars). It is an eclectic mix of rustic (wood paneling, simple furniture), Italian (red/white/green color scheme) and city hip (art hanging on the walls and jazz music). Other customers while we were there included police officers, businessmen and couples. We were promptly greeted and seated. I ordered a chicken parmigiana sandwich, while my wife ordered a breakfast of corned beef hash, home fried potatoes, an egg and toast. Service was inconsistent. We had two waitresses, one of whom was brand new, so I don't know if that contributed to the spotty service. My wife's food was brought out before mine - not a big deal, but there were other oversights. I never received the vinegar I asked for. She didn't get jam or jelly for her toast. I could have used some extra napkins since my sandwich was messy from the sauce. Both servers did ask if our food was okay, and, unfortunately, mine was not. The chicken in my sandwich was over-cooked to the point it was tough. It has been a long time since I had to send a restaurant meal back to the kitchen; I was reluctant to do it, but the employees and the owner (who was sitting at a nearby table) seemed genuinely sorry and wanting to make it right. The owner had my sandwich and fries re-made and brought it out very quickly. The chicken was better this time, but in a rush to get the second meal out, the new fries were under-cooked. The sauce was bland, but the cheese was good. The bread was unremarkable. My wife said her breakfast was decent, though not extraordinary. Portions could have been more generous. Prices were not totally unreasonable, but should have been slightly lower in my opinion, given the portion size and ingredients. I really would like to give this business more than three stars, because the owner and staff seemed genuinely concerned, once they realized my first sandwich was unsatisfactory, and the place has great ambiance. But the combination of inconsistent service and mediocre food is not enough to elevate my rating to four stars, no matter how much I like the place otherwise. read more

We noticed this place while walking around town town after a conference. The few reviews looked okay so we tried. This seems to be a family run restaurant and we were here for their 'soft opening .' This review is based mainly service since we really didn't get to eat! Went in today for Father's Day breakfast because we've been here before and the food is decent, typical breakfast. Walked in with my husband and 2 year old son and stood there for a few minutes without being greeted. Meanwhile 2-3 employees walked by us many time without any acknowledgement. A simple "we'll be right with you" isn't that hard. Finally after asking if we seat ourselves we were told we could sit at a table that the waitress had pointed out and waited a few more minutes to be greeted. There was no hi, how are you.. Happy Father's Day, nothing just "what would you like to drink". When she walked away we talked about leaving but we were already too committed lol. I could see around us that the majority of the guests were unhappy and complaining about one thing or another. We waited over 30 minutes for some eggs and pancakes and had to ask to take it to-go since my husband had to be at work and my son was getting cranky sitting there. The worst part is when we opened our containers the food was thrown in there, the bacon we ordered was not there, there wasn't any syrup, and they only gave us one set of cutlery. They did give us plenty of ketchup packets though lol I understand that they were semi busy but it's doesn't take time to smile and let your guests know that you are busy and doing your best to get there meals out in time. Nice recommendation for brunch from our nearby hotel. Cozy restaurant with wood paneling, red and green accents, art on the walls. Service was fine, and the brunch menu offered all the standards. I got eggs, bacon, home fries, toast and pancakes. Yes, I was a bit hungry. I couldn't finish the home fries but got to everything else. It was made fresh and a little better than diner food. Tea came in a big cup and they even provided an extra tea bag free of charge without my asking, so I feel they are service oriented. I'm in Providence for work and I wandered out for the office in search of coffee and breakfast. Not only was every person working there incredibly inviting and friendly, the made me the best damn coffee I've ever had. Everyone there for breakfast was loving life and begging the server to come home with them. Major FOMO. I wish I was there for brunch instead of taking my food to go. Stopped here on a whim. Food was very good and the staff were very nice. No complaints there. BUT, the wait was painful. Beyond acceptable. We waited almost 45 mins for our food to come out. Basic omelettes with home fries. Never got the side order that we ordered either. Man next to us spilled a cup of water and ice and it was left on the floor. We also ordered 2 egg sandwiches to go when we first ordered our breakfast and we had to wait even longer to get them after we paid the bill. We are from NYC and I'm not sure if we are spoiled by instant satisfaction but waiting over 45 Mins for breakfast seems like things need to be figured out there. Overall splendid Italian restaurant. We ordered a chicken Marsala variant with the baked Schroeder. The side salads were delicious and were cut fresh and the dressing was tasty. Stopped in for a breakfast on a Monday morning. We had the place to ourselves. Waitress was excellent, felt well cared for but she was not hovering over us.
