Okay, I'm going to start by saying--believe the hype when it comes to the ambiance here. This place is gorgeous. It has a serious vibe, so if you're looking for an Insta-worthy spot or just a place that feels cool and elevated, Nigel's delivers. From the decor to the overall energy, it's undeniably a great setting for hanging out or celebrating. However, that's where the positives end... kind of. So, let me walk you through the experience. First the sign from the parking lot is so small!! I parked in the lot where Nordstroms rack and Ralphs are and if you think it's gonna be easy to spot, think again. Look for a small circle sign in between the buildings. A few of the guests for the party I was attending had to be rerouted because they were lost. So we arrived for a 3:30PM reservation, but when we checked in, the host let us know the table wasn't ready. She gave us the option to wait in the host area or head to the bar, where the rest of our party already was, so we went there. But from the moment we walked in, the vibe just felt off. There was a group of women sitting in a cabana when we walked in that gave us the look--like we didn't belong there. I actually said something under my breath and my friend cracked up, saying she saw it too. So, I knew I wasn't trippin. That's not on the restaurant but not exactly the warmest welcome. We got seated around 3:45, so not too bad. In the meantime, we ordered drinks at the bar, but... the bartender totally ignored us. She was too busy chatting with her colleague (which is fine, but a little "I'll be right with you" goes a long way). When she did eventually take our order, my friend had to settle for a different drink because they were out of one of the ingredients. The drinks themselves were okay--definitely pretty (all pink to match the decor), but don't expect strong cocktails. They ice you down real good. Now, about the seating: we were placed in one of the cabana areas, and it was a bit cramped. If you're tall or have long legs, you might want to rethink sitting there. The space was pretty tight, and we couldn't really move the table so we had to sit with our legs at angle the whole time (not the most comfortable). Plus, since it was sunny, the sun made it uncomfortable. Pro tip: don't go in hot weather if you want to be in a cabana, since there aren't any curtains to block the sun behind you (only on the sides). Maybe the inside is better for that. Now, let's talk food. I ordered the filet mignon and mac 'n' cheese. For the price, it just didn't hit. The steak was bland, and the mac 'n' cheese was mid and to top it off it was cold--definitely not worth what I paid. A few of my friends were happy with their meals (lobster rolls, salads, salmon), but my girl who ordered the burger was disappointed, saying it had no flavor. Aside from the food being a disappointment, it was my girl's birthday. We saw other tables with their personalized birthday signs and they included the persons name. For my friend it was a generic "Happy Birthday" with no name. We asked the waitress about it, and her response was, "I didn't have time." Seriously? I get being busy, but 7 extra letters isn't that much to ask for when you're celebrating a special occasion. One more thing, because of its location, shoppers in the area just casually walk by with their shopping bags or on their way out while you're eating. That happened the whole time we were there. The owner even walked by. You would think that he would greet his guests but nope, he just walked by without even a smile or head nod. Maybe he was too busy but when you're a new restaurant, greetings and checking in with your guests are super important. All in all, Nigel's definitely gets points for the ambiance, and if you're looking for a place to take pictures and vibe out, it's worth checking out. But for the price? The service, food, and overall experience didn't live up to expectations. I don't need to go back it wasn't worth the cost or the drive from Pasadena. But if you're in the area and curious, go ahead, check it out. Maybe your experience will be better. read more

This place is way overhyped for what it is. We were a party of 8 & were sat at a table by the hosts desk outside of the resturant. My view was of people walking in from the parking lot. We felt like we were shoved in a walkway. Food was mediocre at best. Took almost 30 mins for my mocktail to come out, I was told they were getting ginger. One of my friends was missing the marshmallow on her drink that was clearly on the description. She mentioned it up to our sever who just shrugged it off, saying they were out but yet our dessert was served with 2 toasted marshmallows on it. 2 friends were seated right next to eachother, ordered the same drink & 1 arrived 15 mins. after the other. Make it make sense! $500 later with all the dining options in the surrounding area, it is safe tp say we will never return. read more

The ambiance and decor were great, it's like they copied the Beverly Hills Hotel. The servers were super helpful and friendly. However, the food was subpar. They should have spread their efforts between the decor and the food. The lobster roll had no flavor, the calamari left much to be desired, and the butter cake was the most disappointing! The butter cake tasted like cornbread with fruit jam and ice-cream on it. It was an experience but I won't be back. I would not recommend Nigel's to my friends or family. read more

This place sucks so much! We arrived and they mentioned that it'll be an hour wait, and that's fine cause we didn't have a reservation. Afterwards, the manager comes up to use and states that we will have a table by 11:20 time, then 11:20 time comes around and still no table. We then waited another 15 minutes, yet still no luck. One of my girl friends then came up to the hostess and immediately was shut down by hostility. Unacceptable. I then went up and asked her what the hold up was, and once again, was rude and defensive. We continued to wait, and then were seating almost 20-25 min AFTER said time. But wait, that's not the only disaster. We sit down, the table isn't clean, and the napkins had previous stains from customers prior. The water had weird black things in it, along with lint. The waitress then comes, and takes our order for drinks. We ordered drinks, and it took almost 30 minutes for the drinks to come out. The waitress then takes another detour that took around 20 minutes before we were able to place our order for food. As soon as we placed our order for food, we HAD to wait another 30 minutes. Once the food came out, it was extremely bland and cold. How is it that it took 30 minutes, yet the food lacked freshness and warmth? The food tasted like it had been sitting for over an hour. The price point for the service and quality is not worth it. This whole experience was ridiculous, and upsetting. Well, atleast I know to never return to this establishment ever again. Came for brunch with the girls to see what the fuss was all about. Super cute decor and a fun place for photos, but that's about it. They offer booths a step up from the main floor but they were difficult to get into- the booth itself has a lip at the entry point so you're either hoisting yourself up to make it in, or holding the table for balance which is also unstable. The floor at these booths is peeling- must be sticker flooring? Customer service from our waitress was pretty bad. They only offer French press coffee which they bring to your table for $10. Ours was coffee flavored water and had the color of tea. We asked one of the food servers for a stronger batch. Somehow he translated our request to our waitress as us complaining that the coffee was cold. She came back with 2 French presses, asking if we all really wanted one of our own. We reiterated how weak the coffee is and that we just wanted a stronger batch. She was oddly defensive about the way they prepare their coffee and kept referencing it being cold and us all wanting our own which would be $10 per press. I've never felt so cringey and uncomfortable. The coffee she brought us was better and she only charged us for one, which is appreciated. This is the only reason they aren't getting 1 Star. The food selection was small and tasted ok at best. I will not be going back! read more

My friend and I had reservations and were seated right on time. Food and drinks great...server Aaliya is my girl!! She's great!! I did read the poor reviews and sure I can see how that could be frustrating but what people need to take into account is that it's a brand new establishment and there's bound be problems at the start. It's all about trial and error. . So give them some grace. The atmosphere is also totally feminine and fun. I made a reservation on OpenTable a week prior and had no issues. I had the opportunity to go today and it did not disappoint. Everything about this place is literally 10 out of 10.. the ambiance. The amazing decor. The food. The attention to detail and the decor was magnificent. From the napkin rings to the vintage glasses. Pure pink Elegance, sophistication and a subtle nod to vintage glamor! Every corner of this restaurant was decorated beautifully. And let's not forget about the pink cabanas with the vintage airstream bar !!The staff was amazing. Everyone was so friendly. And the place ran so smoothly for an opening day. As far as the meal, I ordered the chicken piccata. And this dish was cooked perfectly. Love the capers. It was a very generous portion. Bonus points for the pasta being served with extra pasta sauce in a golden gravy boat. How could you make the dish anymore Perfect?? It was love at first bite. This is waterfront dining at its finest. I can't wait to come back and try the floating tables. What a unique idea. Needless to say I'm a fan. If I could give this place a 0 I would simply based on their lack of communication when getting a reservation. I was super excited to try this place and take my bestie for her birthday and sadly disappointed by their lack of communication. I attempted to make reservations for 4 days straight. I called 3 times but unfortunately they don't have anyone to pick up the phone. I went on open table to see reservations and never had any openings online. I even went as far as going to their website to get their contact info and emailed twice. No response on both again. Super irritating to just even get a reservation. Even Taco Bell picks up their phone. I'm leaving this review to let people know about their poor service in basic customer service. For those who don't live near Long Beach like me, I need to ensure my drive is worth it and I will be dining here in a timely manner because I don't have time to wait on a "waitlist." What if we can't find the place because it's hidden and there is clearly no sign in the parking lot pointing to your location ! Why is the menu so tiny have better options of food! We were unable to all fit in the half circle booth so we asked for a chair not once, not twice, but three times and mind you I am 7-months pregnant. We saw two different servers walk by with chairs for their table in which we stopped to ask and inform them I've been waiting for a chair, but they didn't care that I am 7-months pregnant, their tables needed a chair. The aesthetic of the place was super cute it was very nice and picture worthy they even had show girls walking around. So yes 5 stars if your just looking for cute pics and maybe to just drink here. The food was not good. Well at least in my opinion it wasn't good. Went for brunch and ordered the chilaquiles which included some pulled pork and egg. The egg was good the pulled pork was okay but the chilaquiles I'm sad to say had no flavor and they were mushy. The sauce tasted like spaghetti sauce with some sour cream. My friend ordered the egg whites with spinach and potatoes which was also mid. We didn't drink so can't say anything about the drinks but food not a fan. Sooooo 1st off; parking is easy cz theres a whole parking lot. And theres also a parking structure that leads u TOO the 1st entrance of Nigel's. I came from the parking lot, so the back way. Theres 2 ways to get in. If u park in the structure u walk into the front and if u park out the structure, u walk from the back entryway. Theres a host at both ends. JULIAN; our server was AMAZING , SO KIND, ATTENTIVE, & since this was our first time he told us what he enjoyed off the menu as well. He checked in on us multiple times throughout the night and was so nice! I didnt need to wave to get his attention or anything. We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary so we came for dinner. Everything is cute! The food was AMAZING. I got the cheeseburger my husband got the salmon. Both items, amazing! We even got a dessert! Drinks were great! I celebrated my birthday here Valentine's Day Weekend. It was so yummy! I made a reservation for 10-13 people with a Duffy experience. When doing so, you must order either the pre-set buffet of 3 items or the plated brunch. I opted for the pre-set brunch of pink hen chicken and waffle, garden egg white scramble and the bananas foster French toast. Everything was hot and fresh! My husband surprised me with a reservation here last night after I had been sending him stories via Instagram. When we arrived, we checked in at the host check-in table and wanted to get some pictures before our table was ready. Since they do have some photo ops near the entrance. I believe the owner's kids or guest were there and they were just running wild, screaming etc. We had to ask twice if they could kindly move so we could get some pictures since they were just running wild playing. Kids ignored us and it took one of the adults to tell them to move. He reserved us for a floating booth unfortunately, when we arrived, we were told the booths would only be for appetizers and not the full service menu. Thankfully, Brianna, one of the hostesses that was there was able to save the evening by putting us in a nice little corner table that gave us almost a little private VIP area . The bartenders and ordering drinks at the bar was amazing. They were great and no wait time. However, when we were sat at our table, things definitely changed Our drinks took an extremely long time to come out over 10-15min each and each time we had to wave our server down to ask him to follow up or go get from the bar. I ordered the classic fillet and my husband ordered the Mariners New York steak. I asked for mine to be well done and when it came out, it was still bloodied and look like it was only made medium. Not to my liking - we had to wait another 10minutes for our server to come and take my meal back to the kitchen. He could tell our mood was shifting and promised to get us a manager WHO NEVER EVEN BOTHERED TO COME TO OUR TABLE. The server gave us dessert options and after we ordered he came back 5 minutes later, informing us that he was actually completely out of crème brûlée, and we only had the poundcake with vanilla ice cream available. I understand that this place is fairly new and it just opened and it's a height for a lot of people, but I definitely think that a lot of things still need to be worked out the most importantly, of course being customer service and at least getting the manager to come in and check in on your table to see exactly what all went wrong I'm supposed to be bringing two groups one in September and one in November and I'm highly contemplating it at this point after last night's experience Although I will say cocktails were good food was great AFTER they fixed my meal and the ambience was nice as well as as the photo ops available minus the running a mock children! read more
