I ordered delivery with door dash- unfortunately they sent raw pork chops. This is such a waste of money

Niko Niko's is a community staple that's been around for years. It's counter service which is perfect for a quick lunch without the fuss. Staff is friendly and everyone was working. Whether making sure the beverage area was stocked and clean, clearing tables, or the hustle and bustle of the kitchen. It showed the staff actually takes pride in their job and are not just there to collect. I ordered chicken soup and Greek salad combo. Everything was tasty, fresh, and was a good portion. I just had one cucumber that was extremely bitter and I could not figure out if it was unwashed or what was wrong. Other than that no real complaints. Most definitely will be back for dinner. I found myself looking at other plates and drooling

Gyro Sandwich, Gyro Plate, and Mille Feuille
    Carrie M.

Niko Niko's is a casual Greek restaurant that gives a family-friendly vibe. Their menu is overwhelming, and they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with their own parking lot. We got the gyro sandwich, gyro plate with fries, and mille feuille dessert. I thoroughly enjoyed my gyro sandwich. The pita was very fragrant, and the meat was good. The fries were fine. They have a lot of desserts on display, and we got the mille feuille, which was a super flaky cake-appearing pastry that gave more baklava vibes once we dug into it. The friendly employee told us that he gained a significant amount of weight from eating it. It was very dry and crusty with cold cream interspersed within the layers. It crumbled all over the table (we cleaned it up). It seemed like a unique dessert that was nice to try, but I don't think either of us liked it that much, and we didn't end up finishing it. The gyros were great though.

I couldn't believe I was here 10 years ago promoting a fundraising event in 2015. This time, I was just here to eat dinner after clubbing. Niko Niko's on Montrose was the closest restaurant to the bar, where I was at in the Gayborhood. It was a rainy evening and I didn't want to risk of eating at food trucks and get stuck on the way back. This time I was with a friend. We both ordered gyros combo plates. I was surprised the portion size and affordability. I also ordered a Kataifi and he got a key lime gelato. I couldn't eat the dessert because I was already full. I had leftover for next day. Food was so delicious. However, the Kataifi tasted staled. I think I'll come back during the weekdays.

I had had catered Niko Niko's before but had never dined in. I am so happy I did! We sat in a booth and ordered. The servers were very friendly and helpful. The interior was well designed, with plenty of seating, if a little clustered. I ordered the burger with fries and the hazelnut chocolate cake. One thing is that my burger did take 40 minutes to come and I did have to go and remind the staff, but it was then served fresh within a couple of minutes. But the quality was out of this world! The meat was succulent and was commented by the melted cheese and mayo. The fries were countless and so tasty. The hazelnut chocolate cake was another just another gift. The cake was somehow both light and substantial. The frosting was perfectly flavored and a joy to eat. The pistachio chocolate cake was the same way. A great dining experience!

A classic. Good solid Greek food with a special treat for rodeo goers. Had to take the nephew to enjoy the atmosphere and a bit of local history and culture.

Greek food at its absolute finest! My family LOVES this place. Everything is so fresh and delicious. It is counter service, but they are extremely helpful and everything you need to eat is displayed well. The ambiance is very fitting for the occasion and it is bright and cheery! Don't sleep on the desserts! They are a must. The Greek honey balls are amazing! We are repeat customers!

    Fantastic Rainbow Trout Meal !!!

My recent visits here consisted of a Gyros Plate with rice, Hamburger with uncut tomatoes n pickles & lemon potatoes and Greek Spaghetti Meat Sauce on Sunday Special. All 3 meals were really flavorful, good quality, really well-seasoned, very juicy and so delicious. The gyros and burger are without question imo the best in TX. Ekko's and Nick The Greek are 2nd n 3rd for Greek food for me. I always got the gyros sandwich as opposed to the plate before which is odd bc I always prefer meat plates over sandwich form in other foods like bbq, steak, etc. The meat pieces were all really tasty and had some slight char to them too. The taziki sauce is always cold, creamy in feel and refreshing with a good yogurt aroma to it. It's a great bonus and the gyros didn't even need it tbh. The tomatoes were nicely refreshing and the exotic, cool center dolma is always a little treat with meals here. The rice and chunky lemon potatoes with my meals were always mild but still great in texture and prep. As I said before; from my experiences in every single Greek cafe, if the taziki sauce is good, the gyros will be too. It's a solid symptom and indicator imo. As for the burger, very rarely are burger places only in TX actually any good for the past 15 years. So many are just average or below lacking seasoning or a great overall flavor. Niko Niko's, Goode Company Hamburgers and TX Hamburger Palace are my top 3 in that order for it. Each different too. The brioche buns were just the right thickness and very soft to make the beef patty stick out well. The patty was so nice in charbroiled taste, saltiness, richness, beefiness and tender in every bite. A good burger doesn't need much in toppings, but cool, refreshing, tomatoes are a must for me and pickles add some tangy crunch too. For steak rare, but for a burger medium to medium rare. I had never seen or heard of their Greek Spaghetti n Meat Sauce before. This was like a Greek Bolognese with a lot of love in its flavor. The noodles were drained, very moist and so soft. I don't like too much cheese, so I took some off, but still like some. The meat sauce gravy itself was really flavorful, savory, fatty enough and had that subtle sweet, warm spice aroma you get in the Greek lasagna. I like to get dessert here sometimes when I have extra room, bc they have some great options like their galaktobourreko, chocolate ganache cake, etc. The service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient on these visits.

Visited Niko Niko's while in Houston. The atmosphere was casual with an old-school diner-style feel, and the service was friendly. We tried a few of their dishes -- they were decent but didn't quite hit the mark for me, landing more in the average range. Overall, it felt a bit overrated based on the hype, though it might still be worth a second visit to explore more of the menu. Saluti

    Rice pudding like soup...FAIL
    Melissa C.

June 16, 2025 I lived in Houston from 1986-2013, so i haven't been to Nikos in a long while. I got the chicken avgolemono (soup) which is delicious as it ever was, BUT, the "Nico Meze platter" (is Greek hor d'oeuvres--2 each of) yalandji dolmas, spanakopitas, tiropitas, falafel, and a tiny bit of hummus $16.95 The pastries tasted all the same, the stuffed grape leaves were cold, the falafel was dry. Hummus was ypérochos/ (delicious) NOT worth the price Should have gotten a meat dish I got 2 wedding cookies yum and a rice pudding...FAIL, it was like soup NICO, you let me down today. 3 stars just for the soup **Half off all appetizers on Mondays**

    No dogs allowed OUTSIDE ‍
    Mike K.

Asked if I could sit outside with my dog. They said no. Not sure why? If it's because of sanitary reasons, I promise a dog sitting at the base of a table OUTSIDE while their owner eats is the least of people's concerns considering they are sitting OUTSIDE where there are plenty of bugs flying around and crawling up tables, not to mention the patio is so close to Montrose that cars kick up dust and all sorts of other things into the air. Too bad a Houston institution like Niko Nilko's has such a stupid policy! Glad I found out about Al Quick Stop. Better tasting gyros and A LOT CHEAPER, not overpriced like this place! Do better Niko Niko's. No reason to not let dogs on your outside patio!

All dinners come with a Greek garlic bread starter. I love their iced tea- fresh brewed and always good! The wine is Greek and seems a small bit pricey, but for the extra dollar or two it's worth it- Very delicious. Anything you get at Athena's is amazing so feel free to branch out on your choice. And the desserts are large and homemade! It's hard to save room though. You'll love the fish, steaks, and kebabs. They do a nice lunch sandwich- and still comes with the bread and a Greek salad. If you come on a weekend evening, you may run into the owner having the time of her life! And they take pride in serving the most sweet and ripe slice of melon with every dish. Started to enjoy this first each time I come. It is that delicious, but why can't I find fruit like that anywhere at a grocery store? Give this place a try. Yummy. Officially the authentic Greek restaurant without going overboard. Wait- the homemade 3 layer chocolate cake and the lemon cake! Actually bought a whole one for a large birthday party and everyone wanted to know the bakery name- just Athena's homemade cake! Remember, Greek food is fresh with best ingredients. While the wine selection and date friendly vibes were good selling points, the subpar service, high prices, and average food made for a less than stellar experience. These factors likely contributed to their recent closure, which is unfortunate. The interior was modern and intimate. High ceilings and large mirrors made the place feel more spacious than it was. It was a nice vibe that made the place visually appealing and date friendly. The brick walls, nice decor pieces, and ultra clean bathrooms were a big thumbs up. But vibes can't save poorly executed food. The octopus was dry and overcooked, the potato croquettes were a bit disappointing, as was, the trio of of dips. The souvlaki was supposed to be their most popular dish, but after trying their ribeye, pork, and chicken, it was simply too bland and not up to par. The gyro platters did not fare much better and the lamb chops were under seasoned. The lemon potatoes needed way more lemon but the only dish that was acceptable was the spanakopita (aka spinach pie). It was all overpriced, especially given the modest portions. Service was often aloof or nowhere to be found. When the nice woman butchered souvlaki and spanakopita, my gut was already in cringe. At least there was discount for cash. While I am saddened by their departure, I take comfort in knowing there are better options available in the city.

My daughter and I stopped in for a lunch date, and if there's a patio available, you can bet your bottom dollar that's exactly where we're sitting. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant felt effortlessly inviting. The lighting was dim without being too dark, the music was at just the right volume, and the bar was beautifully positioned. I also appreciated that the seating didn't feel crammed together, which made the space feel comfortable and relaxed. Once we were led out to the patio, the sunshine and umbrella were perfectly in sync. It was one of those patios that makes you want to linger a little longer. After a quick look at the menu, I ordered a spicy margarita along with the Green Salad and the Schnitzel Caesar Salad. Everything arrived looking beautiful, tasted fresh, and was full of flavor. The menu isn't overly large, but what's offered is thoughtfully put together. I would say this restaurant caters a bit more toward an adult crowd, so if you're dining with younger children, the options may feel somewhat limited. Thankfully, my daughter is just as happy with a good salad as I am, so it worked out perfectly for us. For me, this is less of a "come for the huge menu" destination and more of a "come for the experience" kind of place. If you're planning a cute date night, meeting up with friends, or just looking for a beautiful patio to enjoy a drink and catch up, I would absolutely recommend giving this spot a try.
