So...i decided to call in an order here in between conference calls on a beautiful sunny day. I was not surprised to see a line of people ordering and waiting for their food when i arrived to pick up my order. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki w/ greek fries...good choice. The chicken was juicy and cooked just right...the fries (w/ feta cheese) were on point and they also included pita bread pieces as an add on, which really sealed the deal. Overall, its a great family restaurant, their takeout packaging...has its moments, but the food speaks for itself. Definitely a repeat visit. read more

This is probably me and my wife's favorite place to eat in Magnolia! The service is really friendly, it's family owned and operated, and the Gyros are incredibly yummy! One really fun way to enjoy eating at this place is going there on a sunny weekend day and sitting outside on one of the picnic benches under the shade of one of the nearby magnolia trees. Or better yet take your food to one of the nearby parks. My wife and I eat here probably at least once a week and by now they know my wife by name. :-) They seem to be very kid-friendly also. There's a bit bowl of lolipops at kid level when you enter. One additional thing I figured I'd add is that the way they prepare their Gyros meat seems to be pretty hygenic. They don't have one of those huge rotating meat columns that gradually gets cooked from the outside in. They pre-prep the meat and then re-cook it on the grill as part of the preparation of the Gyros sandwich. Still turns out pretty darn yummy. read more

I really love Gyros, ever since I stumbled upon them in France a zillion years ago. Good gyros are kind of hard to find in the states. So I'm pretty happy that there's a good Greek place in Magnolia, and that it's in walking distance for me! I'll be honest- I've only tried their Gyro sandwich. It's absolutely fantastic, the best in town. There's a pizza place just around the corner, and they serve a gyro too, but it's not at all comparable. Nikos uses feta and crunchy lettuce and tomatoes, where as the other place uses wilty lettuce that can't stand up to the heat of the gyros meat. Try their Gyro. It's yummy, and worth it. read more

I've been coming here for I think about 10 years and it is consistently good Greek food. Owned/run by a local family who cares about their community and shows it through the care they put into their dishes. It's a welcoming place where you feel like you're eating with friends. My kids typically get the Gyros but I try to order off the Specials Board for something unique. And don't forget the baklava for dessert - often overlooked, they do it very well! This is a gem in Magnolia! In general, Magnolia lacks a lot of quality restaurants (or anything else for that matter) because so many places here can rely on people here to not wanting to leave the hood. Thus, we end up with mediocre food and services. This place is an exception! The food is great. I know people who don't live in Magnolia who come here for nikos. The food is best when you order at the restaurant, but you can call in take out too. Why the four stars? The service can be really bad at times. I called in an hour once, and at the end of ordering, I confirmed that I was done ordering and the lady proceeded to hang up on me. I called back right away to get a time estimate. She tells me 20 minutes and then proceeds to immediately hang up again. Not, "anything else I can help you with?" I know they are busy, but goodness! They can at least say how long it will be. I will of course be back, the food is so good. When it's not busy, everyone is friendlier. It's a wonderful addition in Magnolia. read more

I always order a gyro or beef souvlaki sandwhich and they're relatively cheap and very yummy. I used to love this restaurant but they must have changed management or something. I ordered my food over the phone and the guy who answered was being incredibly rude and unprofessional. Then when I paid for my food I added on some rice pudding to my order, when doing so one of the guys said something in greek and started laughing. Turns out the rice pudding had mold on it... They even import great Greek alcohol like Mythos (the beer of the gods) and sweet wine from Santorini which I fell in love with on my lengthy stay in Greece this past summer. Try the veggie gyro. Went here tonight with a friend who swore by it. The gyros were amazing! Some of the best I have ever had. Super flavor and fresh and the pita was super duper soft. Also, their sauces are amazing. I really enjoyed both their salad dressing and tzatziki sauce. This place is also very affordable. The gyros are super cheap and a good portion. At first I was afraid it wasn't going to be enough but they stuff the pitas nice and full of veggies and meat. For fifty cents extra you can add feta, which I would highly recommend. For my husband, I ordered a the lamb shank special. Wow. It was SO MUCH food! We got a whole shank of lamb, a nice big portion of rice, a salad, and pita bread with tzatiki sauce. It was so much food he couldn't finish it all. Also, my husband is not a fan of Greek food but he loved this place. Everything is super yummy and delicious. Awesome little join in Magnolia. The only down side for us was that even though I got a to go order, there were no utensils or napkins. For a gyro that is okay but for my husband's lamb shank and salad? We had to stop at a Taco Bell nearby to pick up a fork and knife. I suppose it is partially my fault for not checking the bag before we left the restaurant but I feel it is pretty standard to give someone napkins, forks, ect. with a to go order. The go-to Greek joint in Magnolia/Queen Anne in Seattle. Always good food, plenty of seating including picnic-style tables outside for warm-weather dining. The eponymous Niko of this family restaurant is even there some days to take your order. The souvlaki salad (hold the pickled peppers!) plus Greek fries w/ feta is a fav dinner; excellent house salad dressing by Papou. Their Avgolemono soup is used in our house as a cure for the common cold. Prices go up every year, but good food always costs real money so stop whining. Free ice water if you pour your own, plus sometimes free Dum-Dum lollies if you hate your kid's teeth. read more

Stumbled upon Niko's Gyros in Magnolia - what a find. The Loukaniko sandwich is Great! Juicy pork sausage with leek and orange peel grilled crispy on a bed of onions, tomato, and lettuce with tzitziki sauce on a fresh, warm pita. Yum! Two words: Lamb Burger. Served on pita with enough veggies to constitute a salad on top. The word that comes to mind when eating at Niko's is "wholesomeness". This applies to the food, its presentation and the attitude/atmosphere of the place which is obviously a neighborhood hub. A place where kids go for afternoon snacks then stay and do homework when it's not busy. There are cheaper and more gourmet places, sure. I recently moved to Magnolia, and Niko's is my go-to spot. They serve authentic Greek food and their prices are decent. They are probably on the upper price level for a casual Greek restaurant but being in Magnolia everything seems a little more expensive. Plus, the service and food are so good that I overlook it. I usually get the lamb Gyros. This is one of the few Greek casual Greek places that actually offers a 100% lamb gyro. Most gyros are made from a beef/lamb mix, which aren't bad, but sometimes real lamb is better. They offer the beef/lamb one, shaved lamb, and chunks of lamb in the Gyros. I pretty much alternate between the three. They are very fast and service is good both pickup and in house. read more

I started visiting Nikos about two years ago and so glad I found this gem! The gyros are amazing specifically the lamb and definitely add the feta. I haven't tried many other things because this gyro is one of a kind but I am sure everything is fantastic. The service is exceptional, they may come across unfriendly but that is far from the case if you speak with the staff for more than two minutes. I highly recommend this spot to dine in or take out. OMG OMG OMG!!! Best Greek food! My family is obsessed with this place , especially my son who recently turned 5 years old . Every year he requests Nikkos for his birthday lunch ( well he actually requests to eat here several times a week, but that's another issue) He gets his usual side of gyro meat and pitta bread with tzatziki sauce .... We pop some candles in that pitta bread , sing happy birthday and we have one super happy kiddo! I personally love the lamb souvlaki Greek salad and the classic Gyro - it's really all good tho and the price point is awesome. Really amazing value for such top notch food. Oh and how could I forget about the lovely family that runs it - Nikko, Alex , and the uncle ( whose name I will not even attempt to spell !) are all the best - so so kind... This neighborhood restaurant is wonderful. They are a family run business that offers great Greek food. Whether you want vegetarian, chicken, or lamb you will not be displeased. Their gyro's are awesome and the crosscut fries are topped with feta cheese, absolutely delicious! Going there for lunch again today with the work team! We all love it.
