I saw all of the awesome yelp reviews and they're usually spot on. Not here, however. Major disappointment. We got 2 gyros (one traditional, one lamb), a small Greek salad and Greek fries. The salad was TINY and it was $5.25. It was worth maybe $1.00: one olive, two little onion pieces, and one slice of tomato and cucumber. Serious rip off. The fries were more like potato circles: little poker chips w/cheese on them. They were nothing to be proud of. The lamb was dry and tasteless. On the flipside, the meat was really awesome in the traditional gyro and the service was impressively speedy. Cute but small venue. I would give this place one more try but, for now, I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

One of my favorite places in Seattle, I love going to Magnolia purely because I know I'll get one of their awesome gyros. Opt for the feta on top, I think that's what makes it so good. Nice family owned place that seems to know most of their customers by name. Definitely recommend! read more

Niko's Gyro. Oh my, this place serves awesome Gyros. The restaurant is located in beautiful Magnolia opposite of Bartell's. It has convenient indoor and outdoor seating. This place was OK. I was dissapointed to see that they had the pre-fab gyro meat. I mean, your supposed to be authentic, but you dont even have your gyro on a spit? Avgovemeno was pretty good. I had the gyro plate, was decent. The greek salad was more like a green salad. I thought the vinegrette on the table was a nice touch though. The athmosphere was a little strange. Looks like they started to go with some murals and never finished them?? The lady who takes your orders wasnt overly friendly and they dont wait on you at your table. Not so great. The location is somewhat out of the way, so unless you're local you probably won't run into this place. Kind of a dank, hole-in-the-wall --- something which I did not expect in this neighborhood. I ordered the lamb shank and my friend had their regular gyro. Both were "meh" and not worth $20. The service wasn't so great as the wide-eyed brother of the owner seemed more fixated on greeting the yuppies clamoring in behind us. The owner wasn't too friendly either, even when I went up to her a second time to order baklava for dessert. They get an extra star just because of the cute, little old man that smiled as he served us pre-cut orange slices. He even made it feel extra "home-y" by telling me to not feel shy about digging right in to the lamb shank. Definitely an overall MEH. Probably won't come here again. read more

The food here is fantastic - I've had several items from their large menu and have never been disappointed. The chicken suvlaki plate or salad are favorites along with the charbroiled chicken covered in a mushroom pesto sauce. There is no better place for a delicious pile of pita, rice or fries. The service is friendly and they owners know their regulars by name and are always greeting every customer with a friendly smile. Don't forget your lollipop on the way out. I stumbled on Nikos while biking around Seattle. It had a line, which is always a good sign, but it had a line while a farmers market was going on half a block over. I had to try it. They had both Mousaka and Stuffed Bell Peppers on special, both soul food I grew up on, but I ended up getting the bell peppers. They were ridiculous. If I lived here this would be my daily stop. The staff were really nice too. They hooked me up with and extra order of pita bread to dip into the peppers. Definitely worth checking out! read more

Love love love nikos gyros. When I lived in magnolia I would go here all the time. Perfect size gyros, I've had some at other places that are too big actually! Nothing stays in the pita and just too much meat to veggie ratio. I always add cucumber and feta. Great prices, great service. I miss living in magnolia and having them so close! read more

Been hunting greek food in Seattle for awhile and this is by far one of the better places I've been to. It's got all the basics on the menu and everything is delicious. The chicken souvlaki was pretty good although the sauce was a little watery. The chicken was so flavorful. The avgolemono (greek chicken rice soup!) was perfect for the nice cold day. My friend got the gyro which she enjoyed as well. The fries were loaded with feta and so were the sandwiches. And who doesn't like feta? Everything was perfectly flavored. The owner was super friendly and stopped by to ask how our lunch was going which is always nice. I will definitely make the trek back to Magnolia for Nikos! read more

This small, family run restaurant is the hidden gem of Magnolia. Great food at excellent prices, for eat in or take out. The staff are wonderful and friendly, and the atmosphere is homey. Beyond the typical (but super great!) gyros and souvlaki with which I'm familiar in Greek cuisine, I highly recommend the avgolemono soup. This magical combination of chicken, rice, and lemon makes for a perfect meal when you're not feeling well (or really anytime - I always get it). Wine, beer, and other non-alcoholic beverages are available for your take-out purchase, which is an added bonus. read more

A Magnolia must. We usually order take out. Its much better to eat there though. My fovorites are the calamari salad, Mousaka platter, excellent greek fries with feta, chicken souvlaki salad, and of course, the gyros. Smaller inside and since its kid friendly, you need to be prepared for other kids there. Its a very popular place during the weeknights and for lunch on Saturday. Call in your order to save time. Lots of authentic greek food to choose from on the menu. Also try the hummus with pita bread. We must eat here weekly. read more

Garlic heaven! Service was slow at first but the food was absolutely delish, LADEN with garlic. And in the end an ancient fellow sauntered out of a back room, wheezed something unintelligible, and gave us some lovely, tiny green grapes in a large cluster. We were craving Greek food recently and decided to try this place based on the Yelp reviews. I would definitely go back! We ordered tzatziki and pitas to start with, then we each ordered a chicken pita, pretty standard. The pitas tasted home made and were perfectly warm they were delicious and the tzatziki sauce was OUTSTANDING! Really, so good. It wasn't overly garlicly and onion-ized as many Greek places are becoming. I was really impressed. I had to stop myself from sticking my finger in the tzatziki to get more sauce once the pitas were gone, it was that good! Then we got our pitas, they were equally as yummy and the ingredients tasted really fresh. The tomatoes in the pita were ripe and the chicken was cooked perfectly. It really was a great meal. The couple next to us was munching on the fries with feta, oh my goodness they looked good, I am going to try that next time! What a great little gem of a find in Magnolia! I only had one small complaint about this place and the reason I even mention it is because it could be one of the draws to this place. We arrived about 50 minutes before the place closed for the evening (or from what we could tell was 50 min before closing as there are no hours posted, only the hours we saw on Yelp), and as we drove up someone was removing the cute oil cloth tablecloths from the 3 picnic tables outside. It may seem like a small thing but it was still SUNNY and warm outside (a rarity that we have to make the most of here in Seattle!) and the tables were dirty and gross without the tablecloths. We thought to ourselves no big deal we'll sit inside, well that was until they started cleaning the grill off, the smell was unbearable (the place is small and the grill is in the dining area). It was a HEAVY burnt oil smell, so we went outside and sat at the dirty picnic tables. As we sat outside and waited for our meals, 4 other dining parties came in for dinner, we definitely we not the only ones there. I overheard another couple mention the dirty picnic tables, clearly they wanted to sit outside as well. The outdoor seating would have been so much nicer if the tablecloths were on the tables or the tables were cleaner, they were pretty gross. Regardless, I think the food is worth the trip back here and the prices were reasonable. Great little hole in the wall find! If you're looking for a non-fussy, quiet, yummy place to eat, this would be a great bet! read more
