Nirvana is definitely not your average Chinese massage place. The place is nice and clean, with soothing essential oil infused in the room plus great music. The technicians are quite consistent with their work, and many of them has been working there for many years. Broke my heart, been going here for years. You tell me if I'm wrong? Got a 1.5 massage yesterday with a sauna, paid and gave a $30.00 as she was amazing. Made an appointment with her again for another 1.5 hour private room massage. Sadly, all within 30 minutes we were continually interrupted 7 times, upon getting up and looking on the 8th time. I see the curtain COMPLETELY OPEN!!! Remember I am nude AND I see my masseuse pouring my woodlock oil in another misuesse object!! I'm livid....wait I am just getting started, so I demand to close the curtain and address the constant interruptions. Nevertheless, when finishes I asked for the manager but they say " No English" and finally " Manager is in China". I explain the issue all along they will not debt my services until I give her a tip- wait, I refuse to give a tip due to the deception, exposing my body to everyone who was walking by ( I was in the walkway room) which I heard men in there as well. I left and THEY will not stop calling and harassing me. This is NUTS.!!! My husband and I have been to a few different Chinese massage spots on TO blvd. This place is the best compared to the other ones. The ambiance and decor felt like a Thai massage spa, very zen. It's scent was relaxing but not overwhelming like all the other Asian places. I liked that it was clean. I noticed our massage ladies went to go wash their hands mid way through the full body massage to start working on our head and face. Now you don't get that every where. This place is hit or miss. I have had amazing great massages and I have had nightmare massages. I prefer a slow deep tissue massage apposed to a rapid fire jackhammer massage. The problem I had was when I was leaving and I go to pay and the woman throws the tip back at me because it apparently wasn't enough to her. She told me to tip more on card since i didn't have more cash. A tip is not something you're entitled to. I work in a service industry and I'm well aware of proper tip etiquette. This woman did not seem to understand how it works at all. The service provider does not get to dictate how much tip is given. I've never had anyone be so rude and make me feel like a bad person for actually tipping!. I wish I took my money back when she threw it at me and gave her the finger but I didn't I left her that tip anyway. Basically don't come here unless you plan to tip 50% or more. read more

I have been coming to Nirvana since they opened at a different location on the other end of TO Blvd. and feel they are simply the best. I took my 90 + year old mother here for many years until she passed. She loved Yann and everyone who took care of her. I have told countless people to come and try their always consistent and wonderfully intuitive deep tissue massage. I always get the 90 minute foot massage which really is a whole body massage with the bonus of the foot massage. I travel all over the world and stay in many 5 star properties but Nirvana's massage has spoiled me for all the others at 1/2 the price. I tip well ($15 - $20 for 90 min) because I consider the technicians to be like doctors who always get right to my problem areas. They are worth every penny! They work very hard and know what they are doing. I come regularly, bring my family and friends and have never been disappointed. My only complaint are the other rude customers that talk in the common area. And the last time I went the guy who was massaging me phone kept vibrating like crazy. This was the worst massage I've had in my life. Waiting on the table for 10 minutes before it even started and once It did start my masseuse left the room at least three times. Another masseuse actually entered my room and spoke with mine a couple times as well which interrupted whatever flow there was and made my massage even less relaxing. About halfway through I asked my masseuse to stop scratching me and to use her hands rather than her fingernails. She accommodated but and a few minutes later resumed the scratching. I then asked her if she had her license and she said she was not a masseuse but was filling in because they were very busy! My friend and I started going to Nirvana a year ago and the massages are consistently amazing! Lately we are going on a weekly basis. Nirvana is quite popular and busy anytime you go, which in my opinion is proof that they have happy customers. Sometimes there is a wait even when you call ahead, but in my opinion it is worth the wait and every penny! When there is a long wait, they are always apologetic and usually throw in some little extra. I am a VERY happy customer. Interesting to see some reviews on here. My Friend and I have witnessed people who are very impatient and rude. I guess some people want to be treated like they are at the Four Seasons Spa, but want to only pay Nirvana Spa prices. They are also poor tippers. Don't get a 90 minute massage for $65 and tip less than 10%. Each massage therapist works very hard and deserves more than $5 for 90 minutes. Massage was Medicare and inconsistent at best. Took my wife for a couples full body massage - the lights in the "private" room were too bright to start and the whole body was anything but that. My wife barely got her feet massaged etc. We will keep looking for a different place 1/20/18 I tried again figuring maybe the first time was just a bad experience. However, the last time I came here, my massage was pretty mediocre, so originally I was only going to tip $5. The woman at the front desk then told me that I could not tip only $5 and have to tip at least ten! I was shocked that she asked me this and politely asked her to repeat the request as I wondered if I misheard her. She repeated it, and I felt it was very rude to demand a minimum amount for a tip. This place does illegal things that are NOT okay. I had a couples massage and the lady kept leaving my room to answer the phone, talk to coworkers and kept taking breaks. I paid for a 75 minute massage and the lady maybe massaged me for... 50 minutes of it. I kept waiting for her to get into it so I could relax, but she barely touched me and kept talking to the massage lady that was working on my boyfriend in the same room. It was incredibly rude. I asked her if she preferred that I came back when she had some uninterrupted time to complete my massage and she said "no, sorry". I was so upset the entire massage. I felt trapped. It made it even worse when her personal cell phone rang and she answered it while on top of me and started chatting away while massaging me with her one free hand. She was yelling in another language on her cell phone. It was not a business call. I was so irritated by the entire experience. She cut my massage off 10 minutes before my boyfriends and started it 15 minutes after his started. He had a good experience (minus having to listen to my lady talk, the business phone and the doorbell). What really upset me was upon leaving, she stood in front of the door, blocking the exit and said we were not allowed to leave until we tipped her and her coworker at least $40 each. I told her absolutely not and that my experience was awful. I threatened to call the police if she did not let us out. We paid for our massage and left a tip, but she wanted more. When I mentioned the police, she got irritated and deliberately pushed past us and knocked into our shoulders with her on the way out. It was completely illegal. Based on the experience I had with my "massage", I should not have paid a penny... I didn't fight paying the bill at all. I didn't want to start any issues. I told her I had a bad massage and did not enjoy it and she should not keep walking away to talk on a phone. I was upfront with her and even asked for a manager. She said "no manager". We get there early and end up falling asleep in the waiting room waiting for someone to come or something. My boyfriend and I massage started at two different times, his person was about 10 mins late so i was the only one getting a massage. Don't even think about going to this place without a cash tip in hand. They will literally follow you to the car looking for that tip. Due to a communication error, I wasn't able to add tip onto my card payment. I told them I would go get cash and bring them a tip. They actually stood in the parking lot as I was leaving and flagged me down demanding a cash tip. I finally used the magic term they could understand: ATM. My BF and I went, got cash, and brought it back for them. Left it with the woman at the desk...and vowed to never go to this establishment again. Whether you depend on it or not, a tip is optional. Sadly, after six years as a customer, I will not be returning to Nirvana. During these ten years, I have spent (with tip) forty to fifty dollars, most weeks I was in town. There have been a few weeks, if I bought a produce or had a sauna, that I spent up to 170 dollars in a week. I asked for a ninety minute massage, was told OK, then once the massage started I noticed that the massage therapist was rushing. I reminded her that my massage was 90 minutes. During the middle of my massage, I was told by the manager that there was not time for me to have a ninety minute massage, due to the schedule for other clients. After the one hour massage I expressed my frustration that she did not tell me this in advance. She stated that she was running a business. Her business practices lost a reliable long-term client.
