I came here for lunch during peak time and had the green falafel salad. With tax, it ended up being a little over $13, which is unfortunately standard for NYC. While the falafel itself was hot, crispy, and flavorful, the salad was so bland. I even drizzled some of the tahini they provide on the tables, but it didn't help much. The sliced egg was just an unseasoned hard-boiled egg, but it was a nice addition of protein to the salad. If I come back, I would likely try a sandwich and avoid the salads. When I first learned about Nish Nush more than two years ago, I was excited to try it but the one item I wanted to order was always sold out or unavailable. Very frustrating! I finally made another visit last month with a colleague and the line moved relatively quickly enough for me to snag one of the most popular items on the menu -- the chili falafel burger (roasted pepper falafel patty, lettuce, avocado, tomato, jalapeno, mayo, and Mediterranean barbecue sauce. Mmm....yes for the spices, herbs, and subtle heat. Please extend my compliments to the chef, because it was perfect. After thoroughly devouring my burger and fries, all I could do was savor the flavor and thank my friends for the introduction. Now I understand why the falafel burger is a favorite. This food was so yummy! I got the vegan shawarma (with soft pita bread), lentil soup, and hummus + falafel bowl. The food came with a little bit of tahini dip and green salsa. The only thing I added to my food after heating it up at home was some lemon juice. The salsa was a little hot for my taste, so I only had a little bit. Came upon this place after a nice boxing class nearby in Tribeca, and this definitely hit the hunger cues. They had so many options with simple and healthy ingredients. At first I was hesitant on ordering a "sandwich" feeling like it would be too heavy, but once I learned what ingredients they use it sounded PERFECT and healthy lite. This deluxe sandwich had all 3 homemade falafel flavors, my favorite was the spicy one! Great find! We came to Nish Nush a few nights ago and despite the small location, it was cozy and staff was so nice and friendly! Food was amazing - we ordered the classic falafel sandwich and the falalafel platter, along with the mint tea and some baklava. Everything was delicious and portion sizes were HUGE. Nish Nush truly stands the test of time. I used to stop by here for lunch a few years ago, and recently started coming again since it's close to work. While I've only ordered the deluxe sandwich recently, I'm almost positive that everything else on the menu is equally as delicious. The portions here are generous, and each sandwich is truly PACKED with falafels and all the other goodies. Top it off with some tahini and schug, and it truly is the perfect lunch sandwich. A word of caution though - the sandwich might not be the best thing to eat in front of coworkers/on a first date. So finally, one day I made my way there and it did not disappoint!! The location on Reade Street has a very industrial feel, but the food will warm you right up. I shared a Falafel trio, fried cauliflower, and the split pea soup with one other person. This is more than enough food for 4 ppl, but I'm kind of glad I didn't have to share with that many. I really liked that they had different types of falafel, I think my favorite was probably the spinach mushroom one. The falafel platter comes with 9 falafel, 3 different flavors, hummus, tahini, pickles, olives, spicy herb garlic pepper sauce (SCHUG) red and white cabbage, and israeli salad (cucumbers and tomatoes!) It was so good!!! I thought the fried cauliflower was a bit overfried and soggy, but the taste was really, really good. What a cool spot. It serves Moroccan/Middle eastern type cuisine and it does it well. The food is very good and deserves top rating however the experience was not as good. We sat at a high top and ate and it was FREEZING in there. It looks like it has those garage door type windows where it opens in the summer the problem is the draft makes it very cold and uncomfortable during the winter. Back to the food this place is a Fantastic option if you are looking for a vegetarian or vegan option for lunch. I went with the falafel trio which was a huge portion and impossible to eat all of it. They have three different flavors of falafel and all were incredible. Probably the best falafel I have had. The hummus also had a perfectly velvety texture and great flavor. I also tried one of their two featured soups. I went with the chilli bean soup and it was decent. The flavor was a little toned down but it had plenty of vegetables for my daily veggie quota. Probably wouldnt re-order. My colleague also tried the kale smoothie and said how it really hit the spot. The combination of kale and other flavors worked well in a smoothie. The only thing keeping this place from 5 stars was the freezing interior. It definitely put a damper on our experience. I also ordered a side of there Israeli salad. I've had much better Israeli salad so again I was not impressed. I had my expectations very high and they were shot down. My Israeli friend had the masabacha and he said it was way to spicy for his liking. Currently sitting in blissful food coma mode (yes there is such a thing) after finishing my last few bites of the AMAZING classic falafel sandwich I just ordered via UberEats from Nish Nush. This is a big deal. The last time I had really good falafel was 5 years ago in Israel. Ever since I had the real thing for 3 months, I just couldn't seem to find anything as good after I returned to the states. Nish Nush has totally brought back nostalgic memories of that summer though. The falafel was soft on the inside but managed to retain just a little bit of crunch on the outside. The proportions of other vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes, etc.) were just right and complemented the falafel. The hummus had a creamy texture that I haven't really seen any other falafel places here in the U.S. replicate. Best of all it was HUGE, just like legit falafel sandwiches should be.
