Wanted to try Nishaan of course after seeing all the discourse on social media and the hype and being Pakistani, I of course needed to see it to believe it! This place is fast casual so you order at the counter and the food is served to your table. It was a blister fully cold evening so we first opted to try the Thai Chai which was wonderfully sweet and served with biscuits on the side, and warmed us right up! Ordered the chapli kebab chopped cheese, and the masala fries for the main. The food arrives quickly and the staff is attentive and very friendly. The chopped cheese is quite a large sandwich and quite filling, the bread was somewhat hard but overall the flavor and taste was all there. Also wonderfully seasoned. The masala fries were delicious and my personal favorite. I could eat them all by myself. Overall I would come by again to try some more menu options, but it's nice to see our country being represented and the food and rich flavors we have to offer. Really impressive, even though the prices are super high. I had the impossible chopped cheese, which came with an insanely flavorful and spicy impossible and chili filling and cheese. The bread was fluffy and stood up well to the filling. It's a bit of a splurge for $24, but very unique and worth a try at least once. My daughter and I watched the Great Food Truck Race from first episode through the finale and from episode one she called it that Nishaan was going to win so naturally when we found out there was an actual Nishaan storefront we HAD to go and let me tell you it did NOT disappoint. The storefront is tiny with like maaaaybe 6-7 tables but the staff is super friendly and it is very, very clean. We ordered the OG Pakistani chopped cheese and my 10 year old devoured it. I got the Tandoori Buffalo Chopped Chicken Sandwich and I am still thinking about it today. It was so good and the spices were perfect and so was the bread. The portions are very generous and honestly you could split a sandwich and it would be plenty. We also got Noom Doom fries - crisp, hot, and well seasoned, Cold Brew with Gulab Jamun Cold Foam (didn't know how I felt about the spices - different but I also drank it all so I must have liked it) and for dessert Dubai Chocolate Paratha which I got all of 2 bites because my little greedy goat was hogging it. pakistani chopped cheese is a very good fusion with a normal bodega item. you could taste the spices and it was wonderful. although it did not have much meat in the chopped cheese, it was still pretty good. the tacos however were very good, a lot of meat and flavor. they were paired with this brown sauce that was sweet which i'm not sure exactly but like a tamarind sauce i would assume but it paired well. we got the chapli chopped loaded fries which were amazing as well, flavors just bursting! definitely coming back for the tacos friend also got the chai thai tea and they said it was good too! new favorite spot for sure service was wonderful( shoutout to the cashier) and the ambiance was causal. read more

Went to New York for vacation and made it a must to go try this, after rooting for them on the great food truck race and was so happy when they won, when we saw that they opened a restaurant I had to go. It was so worth it, the chop cheese was delicious and had to get the mango fizz drink was very good, but the Dubai dessert was out of this world. The employee in the front was very nice and food came out quick. So excited to go again making another trip in January so definitely will be back read more

I ordered the chapli chopped cheese and made it spicy: The bread was good. Easy to chew and does that best it can to hold everything together. The sauce. It's very saucy, maybe cause i made it spicy. But the sandwich was lathered in sauce. I'd like it if it weren't. Loved the spice, but i wish it were more spicy. For context, I'm Indian and i grew up eating spicy food so maybe that's why i want more spice. The chapli was typical nothing out of the ordinary. It came with another chutney on the side (mint and cilantro, slightly spicy) for dipping or pouring over the sandwich. This was so delicious!! We ordered a chopped cheese and the masala fries with dipping sauce. Fries were no joke some of the best I've ever eaten and the spicy dipping sauce put them over the top! The chopped cheese sandwich is the fusion dish that I didn't know I needed. Think about the best textures of meat, cheese, and bread of the best cheesesteak sandwich you eaten. Now add in an aromatic and complex Pakistani flavor profile. I will be ordering this sandwich again! The restaurant itself is very clean and has a welcoming feel. Yuck. Gross chopped cheese. Terrible bread. Hard and chewy. Terrible cilantro sauce that was 90% sour cream. They LATHERED that sauce on top as if I asked for extra. The beef was deli quality. The "Pakistani" seasoning was mid, not flavorful. There's a credit card fee and a cash fee. The staff acted performative/not genuine. It's a small spot and felt crowded. Absolutely fantastic!! The chop cheese is amazing! Everything you hope it to be...very flavorful, packed with filling, cheesy, and all in the perfect bread vehicle! Oh, and it's very filling. Leave room for dessert...called funnel cake but more like zepoli topped with insanely delicious sauces...my favorite was the smores version but my wife couldn't stop eating the Dubai chocolate one.
