My husband and I went for an early dinner on a Monday evening, so we were unsurprisingly the only customers, we ordered the green curry, and it came very quickly and was a very large portion. It smelled amazing and tasted even better! Nice crispy tofu, broccoli, and carrots and a spicy, creamy green curry sauce. fantastic food at this one woman show. we've been sorely lacking in our normal consumption of asian food on the Mendo coast so we gave Nit's a try. it is definitely a 'hole in the wall' and everything very homemade. the food was fantastic. the pad thai portion was generous and tasty with lots of big shrimp. the red curry with chicken was also quite tasty with lots of fresh veggies though I would have liked a tab more black rice. we will definitely be back! read more

Very small and unassuming restaurant with excellent food. The serving sizes are more than generous and the taste and simple presentation are wonderful. This is the worst restaurant in Mendocino county! Very weird vibes coming from the old man server. He likes to disrespect his wife infront of customers. He needs to take his old man energy to a golf course and get his young daughter running the place. Because his customer service is outdated and flat out annoying. We ordered a soup, salad and a main entree to split between a friend and I. This man chuckled at our order claiming we wouldn't be able to eat half of it due to it being large portions. Food is incredible and so is the service. Best Thai food I ever eaten. I had the Pad Thai which has the perfect fried noodle in the wok flavorful crunch and so many huge shrimp/prawns inside that makes the price worthwhile. This is by far the best meal we have had in Fort Bragg. A true hole in the wall. One woman, takes the order, makes the food, delivers it, checks on you. She will customize the dish any way you want. The owner is very sweet. There are only 5 tables inside. We had pad thai which was super good and HUGE. We also got the green curry which was unique and we liked it even better than the pad thai. We're so happy someone recommended Nit's to us while we were visiting Fort Bragg. The vibes are hole in the wall, and WOW the food is delicious. We ordered the Tom Kha soup and the fresh spring rolls and after putting in our order, it was nice to hear the clattering of pots and pans, as it's clear that Nit makes the food to order. And wow, when it came out, it was so yummy. In the spring roll, the greens were fresh and crunchy and the chicken and shrimp were both perfectly cooked. It also had this insanely delicious peanut sauce with it. The soup was also excellent, with depth of flavor in the broth. The vegetables were all perfectly tender, no small feat when you consider that they were kale, snap peas and carrots, which all have totally different cooking times. The veggies were totally tender, but retained their bite and bounce. Just perfect. Would totally come back here. read more

Sooooo, I have seen this restaurant and wanted to go there for YEARS but never made it. Was always torn between my love for Thai food and the strange mystique I felt every time I looked in the window passing by in my visits over the years. The family does not always love Thai food, so I choose carefully. A few nights ago we were turned away at the Italian place around the corner so I pitched the idea of going to Nit's. We went and instantly knew we were in for an experience. The locals eating there welcomed us and the "waiter" got us water. The menu was very small, but had some favorites on it and we all found something to order. The waiter warned us "that is a LOT of food" but undaunted we carried on, thinking only of our normal Thai restaurant experience. The soup arrived, and was a nice big bowl, enough for all 3 of us and VERY delicious! The Pad Thai came and we were all left staring at the beauty of the presentation. It was a feast of gorgeous shrimp and a mountain of noodles and an amazing sauce I have ever had on pad Thai ever. We all loved it! Next my red curry with tofu came and it was a huge plate of food as well. The curry sauce was soooooo creamy and delicious. My girls tried it, apprehensively because they do not like spicy things, and both were amazed by how delicious it was. Did I mention that the owner was amazing and so adorable in her kitchen. AMAZING FOOD, ATMOSPHERE AND SERVICE We were passing by FortBragg and randomly chose the Cafe. The place is super cozy and the food is excellent! Everything is so clean, organized and well chosen. The lady was extremely polite and friendly and offered us different options and we were happy with all of them. Soup was very warming and delicious, just what I needed. Veggies in it were cooked to al dente perfection and in the moment! Salad had very good quality ingredients too, freshest feta cheese and yummy fruits. Felt like I had to leave a review in the midst of eating to help balance out these poor reviews. I honestly wasn't sure if I wanted to come in due to the small nature of the shop and the reviews. However, sometimes the little guys blow you away, and wow did Nit ever! I'm not sure if people got her on off days or what, but my red curry was amazeballs, Like TOE-TALLY! I was blown away with the flavor. I was worried about portions, but seriously I have to take half of it home(photo posted under HUGE RED CURRY), it's huge! Honestly I expected it to be worse ~ I am a snobby Bay Area thai food lover/critic and I'm vegan. Basically I'm the worst. This food was ordered 25 min before closing - the ordering was super weird and the price changed 3 times.. I picked up my food and it was strange but ok. I got red curry w tofu's and veggies. The veggies were untraditional- asparagus and carrot- with a mountain of tofu. The flavors were pretty good but you could tell it was rushed- and the woman all though a bit odd, was friendly. Tourist trap isn't a good compliment for any business. We thought we got lucky when she picked up our call an hour early before opening. When we came to pick up our order we got to see cobwebs almost every corner of the walls. While waiting we didn't hear or see any one cooking or any stove turn on at all, she just moved around from counter to counter. She hit us with a $53 bill for chicken and papaya with a side of rice. The chicken was a precooked reheated very dry, the papaya lacked flavor with huge chunks of tomato an papaya with a lot of dead baby spiders. The rice is precooked based in zipblock bag then reheated in a microwave. She seem like a nice person but that might be a con to get into your wallet. read more

Ever walked by a cafe and wondered, "Dang, is this cafe THAT good that it's only opened a few days out of the week AND only for a few hours for lunch and dinner???" Initially, we thought it was because they were targeting tourists and what not, but after reviewing the menu, we thought it would be a nice place to try.. and because we didn't find other places that seemed... worth trying... We ordered fried rice (in case the other dish sucked) and fish of the day which was a halibut. The presentation of the food was indeed fabulous.. we were like.. wow.. for a dish that was in the mid 20s, it looks pretty. =) Both the dishes were delicious and tasteful. It's like a fusion of Thai and American. I've tried other places that had Asian Fusion but it was rather strong. But this place was indeed worth going. They also have a simple variety of wine to choose from. Oh, I thought this place was trying to attract tourists, but really, locals go there regularly. Perhaps it's because they're rich and living off the beach, but I think the food and service also has something to do with it. As for the chef, she looks young with interesting make up. Didn't really bother me because her cooking was THAT GOOD. WHY HERE? Was curious why the dishes cost in the mid 20s.. luckily and gratefully, the food was DELICIOUS. read more

The food is delicious and the portions are very generous. She uses organic ingredients and is very accommodating for vegans. We had the red curry with vegetables and tofu and sautéed veggies and tofu. They came with about a quart of red rice and we have plenty for another meal. She is sweet and expresses her gratitude in a lovely way. She is a bit hard to understand over the phone. By far one of the best dining experiences in my life! I've never felt more welcomed pampered or cared for! I'm not just saying this either, I've been to high class five star restaurants across the country we are easily talking $50 a plate. The delicate care, attention to detail and pure passion that was translated through this dish astounds me! I came in looking for a spicy hot curry to kick out a cold that was coming on, and I was in for a lot more then I ever expected from this small cafe. I was not only able to custom order a spicy red curry with a medley of vegetables but it was ready for me in less then 10 minutes! The crazy part is how skillfully and beautifully executed the dish was! Hand carved roses out of radishes and carrots! Vibrantly sliced limes and mixed greens with a mountain of perfectly cooked white rice!! Wow!! And to top it off she gave me beautiful fresh fruits and chocolates for dessert! Perfectly complimented the spicy curry! Even more crazy this beautiful little lady is running a restaurant all by herself and she is incredible! Super woman! Much more then I expected from a little cafe! She was able to sit down with me and talk for awhile before more guests came to fine dine. She is such a sweetheart!!
