Nixon is such a trendy coffee spot for many bikers on the trail of Platte River. On a calm and breezy Saturday morning, I biked to Nixon to meet some friends for an art event. Their coffee is really tasty and the food is pretty good. The service was quick and the guy that took our order was nice and friendly. This place is great for small to large groups of 1-5 people. This spot is situated along a walking trail that is not far from the parking lot. I almost wish I wouldn't have come on a 90°+ day so I could have enjoyed the walking trail but I'll save that for next time! The iced oat milk vanilla latte was tasty and the gals were very friendly. read more

Wasn't the biggest fan of the coffee options here but the location was great being near a trail and the gardens. I was here with some friends and our little ones one morning for a chilly Oct morning so coffee was a must. I went with a recommendation from one of the baristas and I just wasn't a fan of whatever the seasonal suggestion was (it obviously didn't stand out as I can't even remember what it was). Next time I'll stick with my go to for first coffee shops, chai tea latte! read more

nixon on santa fe is a nice little neighborhood shop. the service was really great! the barista knew what he was doing and made a GREAT latte. i hope he's working next time i stop in. i will say, it's not the most cozy and the location is part of that. it's on the corner of an apartment heavy neighborhood. walking distance for sure if i lived there. the inside feels sterile and muted, 2 things i do NOT look for in coffee shops. seating wasn't bad, but i would not choose it to cozy up or chat with friends. this is a grab and go coffee shop at best. read more

I mean, after 58 miles on the bike, one's standards for food are pretty low. So, I ordered a panini ham sandwich. When I bit into it, yes it was piping hot, but also toasted to within an inch of its life. Never mind I thought, calories are calories at this point. However, that's about all they were. And of course I gnawed at it, devoured it, in my current famished state. But if hunger is the best sauce, even that wasn't quite enough to overcome the shortcomings. It is a shame that this pretty stop on the trail serves up such mediocre fare. There is room for improvement. read more

Perfect place to relax with a cup of coffee and people watch. They also sell smoothies, pastries and sandwiches. We noticed they are open anytime the weather is over 50 degrees, I thought that was so fun! I got an iced caramel macchiato and my son got the pineapple and coconut smoothie. Both drinks were great! We both tried a panini but decided we wouldn't do that again, nothing special, very little filling and kinda pricey at over $8.00 a sandwich. Nothing too special or crazy about this place. It's a good location to get coffee if you plan on walking along the trail right next to it, which is pretty and quite nice when the weather is. The service was really kind and personable! However, the coffee did not match up with it. I went with someone and both of our drinks were piping hot when we got them and it took a while for them to cool down. I got a London Fog and it tasted pretty watery, something I could make at home. I don't think I would go out of my way to go here, but if I end up in the area and want a drink, could settle for here. read more

This coffeeshop is one of my faves to stop into while I'm out for a long bike ride along the greenway and adjoining areas. The service is always incredibly friendly; they help me make decisions when I'm delirious from pedaling my bike for hours. The menu selection for coffee, tea, food, and treats is great, as there is something for everyone. I was floored with how good their chicken pesto sandwich was when I was out for a long bike ride one day - it was one of the best sandwiches I've had at a coffeeshop, and it was warm from being freshly pressed in the panini press. There's ample seating and bike parking, as well as clean restrooms. There's live music (at an appropriate volume) on many weekends. read more

Walked over to Nixon's from work, along the Platte River Trail, and met Sawyer, a smiling barista with an authentic desire to please. We exchanged pleasantries, he explained how the iced tea, dispensed from the tap, is actually brewed onsite, and I decided to try it rather than ask him to make me a fresh one from scratch. It was EXCELLENT! Kudos to Nixon's for hiring such a fine barista. His customer service was exemplary, he asked my whole group if they were satisfied, and smiled at the chorus of YESes. Thanks, Sawyer. You did great! read more

GIrlfriend and I planned a 3.5 mile hike along the Platte River to get coffee at this location, because all available info said it was open on days that had an expected high above 50 degrees. (Don't they realize people might want coffee when it is COLD????) It was a beautiful day, already 45 or higher when we started at 8 am. But when we got there just after nine, closed and no one around despite "OPEN" signs. Website provided the same info, ,and a call got a recording. WTF???? Get another vendor that'll staff it most if not all days. Or close it down. Or at least have a reliable, convenient way to determine if it is open WITHOUT a seven mile hike for nothing. read more

Easy to get to, even if you do t ride your bike along the Platte trail. Parking lot off Santa Fe. Quick, friendly service. Was pretty busy on a Sunday mid-morning. Can walk into Hudson Gardens from there, too. read more

We still come here on cycle days. They've expanded the seating area, shady tables, bike parking and grassed play area to stretch out. I am so grateful they filled my bike bottles with ice and cold water for free, such a gift on a 90 degree day! read more

I visited the Hudson Garden's location on Saturday, May 28th while on a bike ride with my husband and 2 children, one of which has Celiac Disease. We were so delighted with the friendly service, AWESOME frozen mocha (better than Starbucks!) and yummy gluten free truffle brownie for my 7 year old daughter. We had to get another truffle brownie and frozen mocha drink before we got back on our bikes. We can't wait to come back and love supporting a local coffee house when my loyalty has always been with Starbucks. We appreciated the large menu that had something for everyone. Week 2, coffee shop #2: weekly Denver coffee exploration with my sister... Great location, slightly off the beaten bath, cozy place, comfortable atmosphere, great art, and tasty treats. The coffee was well made, I had a latte and my sister had a vanilla latte. I do wish that coffee shops would start looking for alternative milks outside of the Silk brand (which does nothing to compliment the coffee). When ordering, I felt as though the individual taking my order was a little confused with my questions. Also, when I told her we were staying, we still got our coffee in To-Go cups :( Overall, I would come back if I am in the area, night and day better than SB! read more
