Overall good place for a quick breakfast and coffee. They have tons of drink options and signature drinks. We had the sugar britches and funky monkey. Sugar britches is vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon it was great. The funky monkey is chocolate,peanut butter, and banana. It was good but you could only taste the chocolate. Interesting location for a coffee store. Sense Garner has completed road work on Hwy42 it can be a little trying to get here. At this of year the location was decorated for halloween which was cute. There is outside seating as well. Great coffee/drink choices as well as sandwiches during lunch. The counter staff was very nice and helpful as this was our first visit. There is a good variety of lite sandwiches to choose from. We ordered a chicken sandwich with balsamic drizzle and side salad as our side as well as a hot coffee and iced drink. Your order is brought to your table. The salad was of mixed greens, tomato, cucumber and croutons which had a good mix and good size. The sandwich was good, not cheated of chicken. This place has good eats and great coffee. I would say this place is a bit loud. If I needed to study or wanted to "work from home" it wouldn't be the place for me. You walk in, you order from the counter and then take a seat if you're eating in. They bring your food to the table but you grab your drinks from the counter. The parking can get a bit crazy. I came by about 10am in the morning. The shop was a 1/5th full. Wasn't too chatty as I worked on some video editing. The drinks were made quickly. The Funky Monkey (I added marshmallow foam) was delicious although a little sweet on the caramel, but that's personal preference. The espresso tasted pretty basic so I tossed it in the funky monkey which evened out the caramel. Would I recommend it? The hot brewed coffee is good but as of recently depending on who takes the order they started to charge 0.60 for a small splash of soy milk in my coffee. That's $4 for a simple medium cup of brewed coffee. On top of that the girls working the front literally always seem to have some sort of chip on their shoulder or a slight attitude for no reason at all. I'm usually there pretty early around 7am on a weekday and I always tip and greet the person taking my order asking how they are and usually get a vague response that just makes me feel like I'm forcing them to go out of their way to be casually friendly. I wanted to like this place but the vibe is just off for me and I've decided to stop forcing it. Honestly, the front of house employees make this place awkward and slightly uncomfortable for the few minutes you're forced to interact with them. A friend of mine who has come in plenty of times without me said the same thing, so I know it's not me personally. I worked as a barista for 5 years at different shops and I've never come across a group of baristas like most of the girls that work the morning shift at ugly mug. A few are decent but most aren't worth tipping and for me there's no point of going to a business serving you if you feel like you shouldn't tip so it's a no for me. read more

This is a quaint and very artistic coffee shop.I loved the art that was exhibited throughout the store. To me, my opinion, the food was over- priced. There is such a wide selection of food choices for such a small space. I felt rushed and hurried because there were so many people waiting to be seated and to be helped. There wasn't enough seating inside but plenty outside, but it was raining. The wait time for your did it drink isn't long, that's a plus, if you're there to pick up and NOT sit then that's the way you go. I will say that the Caramel Machioto was SUPERB! Will I visit again?
