So this company contracted with my home warranty place. Initially, I made a service call because our heater was not working. Dave came out, on time, and said we needed a part. Our heater is old so it took a while for the part. Once the part arrived, the heater still did not work. Dave ended up suggested that our furnace get replaced. The home warranty agreed with the diagnosis. I was home with my family on the day of installation. Dave seemed pretty baffled about removing the old furnace. I kept hearing lots of grunts and "these old furnaces are hard to work with." He complained about the job a lot but I figured he was just having a bad day. In the end, he got it done, but it didn't look pretty. I don't understand much about furnaces but it seemed like he discarded items from the old furnace that he didn't plan to use again so when he needed the items later, they were super banged up! I'm no expert but it seems like my furnace is held together by a lot of tape. I'd say he got 3.5 stars for that job. Many months later I reached out because a property needs a wall heater. The place has an inoperable floor heater. Dave responded to my inquiry promptly and gave a reasonable price. This job seemed very straightforward. My dad was on site for most of the installation and said this guy complained the whole time. He kept cutting and drilling into the wall. On several occasions he asked his helper if the screw went through to the other side, yes....they did go through. The job looks plain sloppy. Dave turned off the gas for this job. He told me the water heater had a malfunction and he needed a special tool to light the pilot. He agreed to purchase the tool and from my understanding, I was going to reimburse him. When I met him to pay the final balance for the furnace, he told me I owed him $250 additional dollars for the tool and the wiring he claimed to have done. Dave claims he had to drill some holes to change the path for a light switch near the new, sloppily installed furnace. I think he noticed the shocked look on my face because this expense was never discussed with me. He quickly said I could just give him $200. I told him to send me the bill since I already had a prewritten check for the agreed-upon balance. Furthermore, his so-called re-wiring was a massive failure. Yes, the heater works but every other electrical item on that wall doesn't work. Now I'm stuck with another bill from an electrician to fix everything Dave screwed up. And they messed up the brand new floor we just had installed. As I walked away, I remembered that I had forgotten to ask if he left that special tool. I thought this might be a tool I would need if the pilot goes out again. I sent him a quick text and I got the rudest response back. I was so upset. I had only treated this guy with respect and I felt like he was very disrespectful. I immediately blocked him and let my dad handle it. Even my dad has no interest in contacting this "Wanna-be-Know-it-All" again. The negative energy that exudes from this guy just isn't worth it and he isn't very skilled at his craft. He came out to diagnose our AC Unit, couldn't find anything and said he thinks it's the wiring but he's not supposed to be in an attic due to health reasons and is retiring soon. No Sweat is always my first call for HVAC repair! I was originally introduced to No Sweat then they were assigned to me through my home warranty. I've never had a good experience with home warranty contractors so I was hesistant, but David was amazing! Other HVAC companies wanted to upsell me $2k+ worth of products, but David was able to correct my problem easily without installing anything new, simply re routing some pipes that were installed incorrectly by the previous owner. Another time I called No Sweat about a squeaking furnace fan. Most companies see this as an opportunity to sell me all sorts of stuff. David said it's best to just get some more life out of it and replace when it eventually dies. The squeaking stopped on it's own and has been running fine for years. I really appreciate that kind of honesty. Today I had No Sweat out to fix my furnace and AC that wouldnt' turn on. David was able to identify two different problems and have them fixed in an hour with only having to replace a capacitor. He also checked the fan I mentioned years before. They damaged my new floors when I posed the question before hand if the tape they placed down would damage it. During the install, they placed the new furnace on the electrical wire for the doorbell which no longer works and refuses to take responsibility for it. I was getting ready for the winter/fall cold and decided to clean my furnace and change the filter and discovered that my furnace would turn-on. We have had 5 companies under our home warranty come to repair our very old split air conditioner in our guest house. Every one of them with the exception of No Sweat wants us to spend $10K to replace the entire system. No Sweat has been able to keep this thing running and is the only company willing to replace parts and work on the thing without insisting on a replacement. It will have to be replaced one day and I will call No Sweat as soon as the time comes. They are fast, on time and have repaired my system at a very reasonable price. He fixed our problem and had the parts in his truck unlike other repair guys. He explained everything was courteous and efficient. The service guy was clean and explained everything thoroughly. David saved the day!!! We had an issue with our AC unit and I contacted our home warranty people. The first co tractor the sent out was a pain to get an appointment set that they would stick to. The second contractor they sent couldn't figure out how to order the correct part or send out a tech that knew what he was supposed to do or even know if he had the part on his truck. In come No Sweat, David called me on a Friday night for a Saturday appointment, he even called to reschedule it for earlier in the day to make sure he was able to get the parts. David showed up, I explained to him what was taking place, David took out the blower housing, figured out it was completely off balanced and parts were stuck inside of it. David then took the whole housing to the parts store, figured out what was needed, put it together and made sure it worked - before he returned to my house, installed it and had my AC back up and working in hours. I contacted my home warranty company several months ago for a HVAC inspection. My unit was causing a loud noise and above my neighbors roof. They sent someone out and he inspected the unit. He informed me it was the compressor but the rest of the unit was working fine. The home warranty would only cover if the entire unit failed and needed replacement. Last week my neighbors complained again about the noise and I asked First Warranty for a second opinion. They agreed but I had to pay for another service charge. No sweat did it for less than half that because they weren't trying to sell me things I didn't need. And when I went to pay the bill, he took some money off because one of the parts he thought needed to be replaced was actually in good shape and didn't need replacing so he didn't do it. So thankful my insurance company sent this company for a second opinion of my AC unit! The guy that came out looked really young and inexperienced but don't judge a book by its cover! He knew exactly what he was doing and out of 4 techs that came out before him, he was the only one that was able to fix it!! THANK YOU!!! Another company quoted me around $20k to get a whole new HVAC system and Thank God No Sweat came out because with my insurance the cost was only the service fee. Service was efficient and within the same day. He put all thee screws he took out back in place (I only mention this because other companies that inspected left the screws out---safety hazard) And he confirmed multiple times that it was working properly by checking different systems. First he immediately schedules my appointment for the next day (Excellent). No sweat comes out and says my compressor was not pumping. I had 2 large leaks they tried to repair but was not successful. This was the middle of the heat wave (of course) and I have little one. They had to replace my condenser unit because it was really really old. The entire job was completed within a week. I had the worst experience with this company. I have a Home Warranty and this company was contracted through the Home Warranty company. Per my home warranty's contract it states that when the service call is place the contracted company (No Sweat Heating being that company) is supposed to contact the customer within 1 calendar day of the service call being placed. No Sweat Heating did not contact me until the 3rd day of the service call being placed. I called them several times from the time the service call was placed and was not able to get through. They had some makeshift voice mail set up which had a mail box that was full. You could not even leave a message and it was set up to what seemed like some one's personal mailbox named Andrew. When they finally called to contact me it was a rush situation like I am around the corner from your house, can I come right now? They never called to set up a proper appointment. It was so unprofessional. Right after they arrived they fooled around with my furnace for about 25 minutes. They did get it working however 2 days later the furnace went out again and once again I had no heat. Of course I went through the same procedure to contact my Home Warranty company to place yet another service call which was placed on a Friday morning. The whole weekend and into Monday went by and I never heard from No Sweat Heating. I finally placed a complaint with my Home Warranty company about this business and was able to get another company to come out but No Sweat Heating pretty much displayed the worst customer service I have ever dealt with and not to mention Shoddy work. I will never deal with this company again. I hope you Yelpers out there carefully read this review before eliciting the services of this company. And if you have a Home Warranty Company that tries to contract them out for you, Do yourself a favor and request a different company! You will save yourself a major headache. Good luck! read more
