Dan, Native New Yorker here. There's no substitute for New York bagels. Noah's is a chain. They happen to be a very GOOD chain -- and much better than their sister stores elsewhere, Einstein Brothers (who don't even carry Salt Bagels) That said, this particular store was the first stop of mine on many a morning commute. I was in many senses a "regular" here for several months. There's a whole other class of regulars, tho -- people you know are just like family, an interesting group to observe, sitting at "the big table" on most of a weekend morning. It's like High School, where there's that one table where the Seniors sit...except these guys are more...Senior. Even though lines build up fairly quickly on the weekends, the staff is amazing. Heavy shout outs to my man Dave (the counter guy). I miss you guys. That said, even though they're a chain doesn't mean you can always expect consistency. While this store carries a solid four (and sorry, a bagel store anywhere other than NYC won't get a five out of me), their smaller sister store in RWC hardly rates a two... Employees are nice and food is good but please start making more of the Jalapeño cheddar bagels. They are delicious! The last 5 times I have went to Noah's around 9 AM they were out of jalapeño cheddar bagels 4 times. While I waited for my food I heard other customers that are waiting to order say "aghhh they ran out of Jalapeños bagels." My recommendation, double the amount of those bagels in the morning. Employees are clueless & slow. I am ALWAYS one to give people a chance but it is the same thing everytime. The eggs are gross. This location has its good days and it's bad days but the current staff is great! They take the time to get to know you and truly care about their regulars. Sometimes it's a bit of a wait but by no fault of the employees. Probably not the best place to go if you're in a hurry but if you want a place that knows you this is the spot! Ive received bad service before and have never felt the need to post about it. Typically an apology is good enough to make good. In this case I received awful service and no responsibility from the manager. this isn't the first time I've had an order go completely wrong and get the response from the manager that I got today. I used DoorDash and show up to the store an hour later, 40 minutes after it should have been ready. They didn't even put it in. I asked if they were going to start it and the manager word for word "if you don't stop interrupting us maybe we can make it". That was the only question I asked of her and she acted as though I'm the inconvenience. I'm just the customer so I guess having an expectation of them to follow through is too much. I don't mind mistakes but I do mind rudeness. They've lost a customer, which I don't think they really care about at the end of the day. read more

Expect to wait - a long time. Expect rudeness too you are surely going to get it. The food is good here so I will give them 2 stars for that. But I have to agree with the other reviewers the service is the pits. So Bad that I just will not go. But before big tests my daughter likes to get a bagel with salmon... I don't understand why the employees struggle like they do. We go almost every Saturday with our kids. Without fail, almost every week we have an issue. Usually, it's because we order our bagels and before they get put in our bag, they are given to other customers. We have a 4 year old who gets chocolate chip bagels for having a good week. To get him there and have him see multiple bagels in the case, order them, and then be told they've been given to someone else behind us in line is ridiculous. How do I explain that to my kid? Please do a better job training your employees. At this point, we would rather drive to Pleasanton then continue to put up with your terrible service. read more

Oh how I love Noah's Bagels!!! I had a bagel with extra lowfat cream cheese (I know - you don't have to point it out) for breakfast this morning and it was sooo good. It is now lunchtime and I am still pretty full. For some reason it tastes the best when it is to go. I think it is because the cream cheese softens with the warmth of the bagel when it is wrapped up for a few minutes. I don't enjoy them as much when I eat in but whatever it won't stop me from going. Anyway's I especially like the one in Livermore because the staff is friendly and they almost always get the 'extra' cream cheese right - I like a lot of cream cheese. Also, a bribe to Noah's in the morning is the only thing that will get my 6 year old out of bed and dressed and brushed in 5 minutes! He looovvvvess it too:) read more

I'm torn between 1 and 5 stars. Almost all of the reviews fall into two broad catagories - "the bagels are the best!" ~ 5 stars! And "the customer service sucks." ~ 1 star! And both are correct. I'm not here to slam Noah's as if they're awful, because they're not -- The staff is friendly, the store is clean, although the service is a bit slow, they always got our order right. They have a good selection of coffees. They even have a pretty good selection of pre-packed things for lunches, salads and the like. So if you enjoy their bagels and don't mind paying a little extra, it could be a great place for you. In my view though, if the name of your establishment has a single food item in it (ie: bagel, pizza, chicken), you'd better be good at making at least that item. And even more so if you call out a specific locale (ny, chicago, philly, etc). Noah's is WAY off the mark if you're aiming for a NY Bagel. We found their bagels to be atypically small and in taste/texture/style, not even close to NY (we recently moved here from NY and gave Noah's at least 4 tries to win us over) since it's close to our house and the location is actually pretty nice. I haven't had a good bagel there yet. Mind you, the toppings, shmears, were all good. One visit I had the Nova Lox -- the salmon, onions, capers, etc., were all quite good so I continue to get that when I'm forced to go there, because I enjoy the toppings so I can pretty much ignore the bagel. I found a place that does make excellent bagels similar to those in NY, you can search my other reviews to find it. read more

This morning ordered 2 take out everything bagels with cream cheese and lox, etc. The worst we've ever had. Bad bagels, old lox, and cream cheese that tasted liked whipped heavy cream. It is was disgusting. Needless to say, and to describe the after effect politely, we had upset stomachs. Will never go back there again. read more

We stopped here to pick up some bagels for breakfast for all of us before leaving for Reno for a few days. This is definitely a busy location, so be prepared to wait. The service is friendly & efficient & while they have more than just bagels, the bagels are what bring me here. I love the selection of shmeers. I love them all; my choice last week was the smoked salmon on an everything bagel which toasted was nice & chewy with garlic, onions, poppy seeds, & sesame seeds. You do have to wait in a separate line if you are having them toasted, but it imoves efficiently eventhough sometimes they can get backed up. So, for some wonderful New York bagels & shmeers at low prices, Noah's cannot be beat. Keep up the good work guys. read more

Got used to the excellent customer service at the Noah's in downtown SF (Fremont St). With a line going out the door, those guys could turn around a bagel in just a couple minutes, with enthusiasm! Now fast forward to me visiting Livermore Noah's, to get another taste of bagels we all know and love. Going in to the shop there are usually 3-4 people in line with maybe 3-4 people waiting for their bagels and a gaggle of girls behind the counter who are taking their time.. A single toasted/cream cheese bagel for me averages about 5-7 minutes, the customer service is extremely lacking, and they don't take simple orders over the phone (only boxes). Although this is the only bagel shop in town (any competition wouldn't have to try hard to win me over), I will be choosing to go to the local grocery store and try my own hand at buying and prepping my own bagels. They may not taste the same, but at least I'll be happy when I sit down to eat it. read more

The customer service at Noah's Bagel is the best. Being from the southern part of the country we are use to southern hospitality. I would place Noah's up to the best southern hospitality I have had since moving to California. I was ready to leave Stockton a week after I got here because people working in stores and restaurants were so rude. They felt as if you were doing them a favor by coming in, I can go to Noah's, not make it back for 3 weeks and they still know my name. My bagel is always perfect, jalapeño, the smears are delicious and the coffee is top notch. I had it in the car with a friend last week who does not like coffee and commented she had never smelled coffee that good, Chelsea. So, thank you to Noah's Bagel, staff, manager, and owner. The bagels and cream cheese are very good not as good as bagel street but the customer service was lacking in regards to peoples orders. I got a gralic bagel and cheese bagel with cream cheese on the side. When all the sudden they got busy and they ended up putting the cream cheese on the bagel instead of on the side like I asked. But luckly they where able to fix the problem once I brought it to there attention. Wish I got more cream cheese then what they give out. My husband and I stopped in this morning at 10:45 and orderd two egg sandwiches. Not only did it take 25 minutes to get them but the bagels were not toasted (they were cold) and no salt or pepper after asking for it on the sandwiches. The employee just handed the take out bag to me with barely an acknowlegement of the lenght of the wait. A simple would you like an extra bagel to take home with you, which costs them pennies to make would have softened the wait. I've given Noah's a chance now several times and each time, it's let me down. It is so extremely poorly run (I've worked at Starbucks and Jamba and other similar types of work in the food industry) these poor employees seem to be constantly understaffed and the moral is low. Today, they only had three people working during their morning rush-they were out of coffee (only decaf), half & half, sugar and lids. The place was messy and every time I'm there it's slow-I've seen who I assume is the manager occasionally pop her head out to check on the team (she wore a black chef coat) but didn't helped, just headed to the back. I waited 15 minutes after I ordered a latte for it with only one latte ahead of me because 'there's only one person today who knows how to make it." What is going on?!! Staff needs to be better trained and management needs to be present for the staff!!!! So I MUST admit, the first time i came, i fell in love with the place. I got one of their thin lunch sandwhiches. The coffee was pretty good as well. So I thought this would be my new spot. The second time i went, i ordered the same thing. But this time, halfway through, i found a nice blond.hair in my sandwhich, Im a brunette. So of course i was disgusted And told them. And yes, they did offer to make me another, And they apologized. So i thought that was good. So this next time i went, just yesterday, i was ordering But the woman taking my order could not understand me. How could she? You have to order over a counter and with all the blending going on, its almost impossible. So when she put in the wrong order, she got upset like it was my fault. And then i ordered a Hazelnut Vanilla Blender thinking it was a cold drink, because on the wall they advertised it with "drinks that will give you the chills" or something like that. And surprise, i get a scorching hot drink. When i tried asking if it was the right one, the woman said "no thats right drink" And kept working . Its all bad. I love Noah's Bagels but not the one in Livermore. When I lived in Pleasanton, the Noah's on Santa Rita was great, but the one here in Livermore is AWFUL! Twice I've walked out of there because they don't put the smear in the bag. The customer service is god awful. Those girls are more interested in talking and BS'ing behind the counter than working efficiently to getting orders out on a timely basis. They're also horrendous on keeping up with demand. Talk about "at a snails pace". The employees here mosey about as if no one has anyplace to go. I had to get back to work, and I got so frustrated watching these girls try to figure out where stuff was, they don't know their products to answer questions. I asked if they ever make sandwiches with regular bread instead of bagels, she just looked like a deer in headlights and said, "I guess so"...then proceeded to tell me..."we only have a couple of kinds". I felt like she was discouraging me from ordering a sandwich with regular bread. Then it took forever for the girl to make my sandwich as she slooowwwlly place each piece of turkey...folding and placing and picking another...all the time with her back to the huge line, so she didn't have to see and think, "gee maybe I should step it up a bit, cause the line is getting longer". They should take lessons from Safeway deli. Also, I ordered a small Carmel Macciati with my sandwich. She said she was going to make it so I could have it while I was waiting. It never got made, I asked her about it, and she said..."oh, I'll make it right now", and proceeded to help the next customer. I got my sandwich finally, and I'm holding my bag and two different people were asked about my carmel macchiatto and it was like each one expected the other one to make it so no one made it, I finally said, "just give me a refund for the macchiatto and quick please, I had to get back to work right NOW! Then the girl didn't know how to do a refund and had to call the other away from whatever she was doing for the poor customers after me, to figure out how to perform a refund. This is a "to go" order, that was to go back to work with me. I will NEVER go here again, if I have anywhere to go...if at all. I love Noah's. Today I went in & had the worst experience ever. The lines are always long & busy I get that..I ordered the cashier was lost & slow.. ok maybe she was new? W.e .. I waited 45 mins & got my lox bagel .. wrong..
