    Texas Trinity

I saw Noah's BBQ come up on Phantom Gourmet this morning and had to try it immediately for lunch! You order at the counter and choose your own seat. The establishment is decorated with fun Texas BBQ decor - you can't even tell it used to be a chipotle! Everything was super clean and the man taking our order at the counter was super friendly. I shared the Texas Trinity with my husband and it was the perfect amount of food. It came with brisket, sausage, and chicken wings (their ribs unfortunately weren't ready yet so we had to sub it for the wings). I'm glad we did get the substitute though because the wings were my favorite. It also came with FOUR sides - we chose the collard greens, coleslaw, beans, and fried rice. We also accidentally got a side of fries so it was a pleasant surprise (although had us extra full). The brisket fried rice is a must try!

Noah's BBQ is a Texas-style barbecue restaurant located inside South Shore Plaza that feels more like a dedicated barbecue spot than typical mall dining. We walked into a casual space with plenty of seating and a straightforward setup that keeps the focus on the smoked meats coming out of the kitchen. The interior has a comfortable, unpretentious energy that fits the style of the food, and the steady flow of customers reflects its reputation as a reliable stop for quality barbecue in an unexpected location. The brisket is the highlight of the menu, with a noticeable smoky flavor, a well-developed bark, and tender meat that pulls apart easily. We ordered a few different meats and found the ribs equally satisfying, with plenty of seasoning and a good balance between smoky and savory flavors that came through without being overwhelmed by sauce. The sides round out the meal well, especially the cornbread, which is soft and slightly sweet, along with the mac and cheese that adds a rich, comforting contrast to the smoked meats. The portions are generous, making the combo plates a good option if you want to sample a few different meats, and the quality across the board is consistent with what you would expect from a dedicated barbecue spot. The food comes out fairly quickly considering everything is smoked fresh, and the staff were friendly during our visit, making the experience feel welcoming whether you are dining in or picking up food to go. The casual atmosphere and convenient location make it an easy stop for a satisfying meal, and the quality of the barbecue stands on its own. Noah's BBQ is one of the better places to find Texas-style barbecue in the Boston area, and the smoked meats are the main reason to visit. The combination of quality barbecue, classic sides, and generous portions makes it worth seeking out, even if it happens to be inside a mall.

A couple months ago we finally made plans and gave Noah's a try. Here we are, back to get some more bbq! That's definitely a good sign. Since they've added their lunch menu, it's a good chance to come and try their food out. Bbq food can get a bit expensive but it comes with a lot of labor so I get it. My favorite cut of meat here is their brisket. Tender, moist, flavorful, and fatty. Surprisingly, their turkey is a must try too. Not dry at all. All their sides are amazing too. I've had friends that came here and said it was a bit salty but to me, it's actually perfect and not too salty at all. Great customer service, very welcoming. Today, maybe it could have been one of the owners but he was super friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be coming back every chance I get.

Located in the South Shore Plaza, with entrances both inside and outside the mall. Large space with over-the-counter ordering. A pair of J&R smokers in the background and enclosed warming trays in front. According to the meat cutter, the meats for my Sunday lunch came out of the smoker the day before, but sat in the warmer overnight. So not the usual refrigerate-and-reheat, but not fresh out of the smoker either. -- Smoked Wings: A small order of six unsauced pieces had mostly drums and every piece was aggressively rubbed. Each piece had heavy notes of salt and sugar (possibly also from an agave nectar glaze)-- not a huge departure from a typical rub, but takes a little getting-used-to. Skins not crisp, but firm. Interiors slightly moist on the drums and slightly juicy on the flats. Dipping into the house barbecue sauces adds complementary flavors. All things considered, a little above average if you don't mind such dominant salt and sugar, and a deal breaker if you do. -- Sliced Brisket: Had in a 3-meat combo, this came as two length but VERY thin slices-- about the thickness of two slices of deli meat from the supermarket. These had well developed but soft bark that brought black pepper and more heavy duty saltiness. They add a liquid of some kind to keep it moist or get it moist, but whatever they did, it was moist. Very good tenderness and nice beef flavor, though not very smoky and not very fresh. Overall, well above average, but I'd much prefer fresher product without the trickery. -- Pork Ribs: Lengthy spares on the 3-meat combo had bumpy bark full of rub, but without the salt overkill. Moist on the surface, again thanks to an additive, with a steamy quality to the initial interior moistness, but much dryer and chewier after the first few bites. Good flavor, but too old and too dry for my liking. These would be great right out of the smoker without the hocus pocus, but as served, below average. -- Pulled Pork: On the 3-meat combo, the packed mound molded into an igloo shape with a mustard sauce coating didn't give the most appealing visual, but a little fork tossing brought it to respectability. Good bark content, good texture as far as firmness/tenderness (neither stiff nor mushy), but dry aside from the sauce. A little above average. -- Brisket Baked Beans: Soft beans, more savory than sweet, and barely above room temperature. Little strands of brisket added contrast in flavor. Pretty good, but needs to be served hotter. -- Cole Slaw: Crisp, very creamy, very mayoey. Not much flavor, but it was helpful as a respite from the heavy salt of the meats. -- Barbecue Sauces: Two sauces are pumpable into small cups to bring to the table. I found the Noah's BBQ a pleasantly complex mustardy concoction. I thought the Original BBQ was too ketchupy. The meal had a mix of good, not so good, and some potential to possibly be realized on a night visit. But if you're serving Sunday lunch and you're serving what they served me, you're going to get judged on it. I judge it a 3. Additional note: No toilet paper in the men's room. Details matter.

Man to say this was a disappointment is an understatement! The food was way overpriced! Ribs tasted a day old, brisket was bland and the only thing decent were the burnt ends. Definitely a one and done and will not be coming back. Should of known something was up when this place was empty on a Saturday. Food is not BBQ worthy at all!

I haven't been inside a functioning mall in years and that's exactly where you can find Noah's BBQ at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree, MA. A very classic central Texas influenced flavor profile. Taking a bite of the brisket I could totally taste a strong oak flavor. With each bite I was more and more sure it was post oak. A super moist flat that I enjoyed more that the point. Still both wonderfully rendered having a smokey bark. Every burp emanated a flavor of smoke in my mouth lol. The ribs were a punch of black pepper with a slightly sweet glaze. Enough to pull back the heat but still fight through. For what I like they were a tad over with how soft the meat was but great flavors nonetheless. A very well done hot link though not spicy. The texture of the grind is something I loved. Ive had too many homogeneous sausages lately and I thoroughly enjoyed these. My favorite bite was the corn bread. The softness and bite was similar to Japanese castella. Spongy and bouncy. With the sweet flavors of corn and honey. Worth a stop if in the area and bonus you can get some shopping done before.

If I can give 3.5 stars I would. Tried this bbq place the other day. We did take out. My photos are showing half of a portion because my spouse took half. We did the 3 meat combo and a banana bread pudding. Service was prompt, there's an option to order online for pick up. The restaurant is inside the mall so you can shop and dine. The place is very lively. Great for family. The brisket was flavorful one one side, I wish it was flavorful throughout. The meat side was bland. Pudding was great, not super sweet. The pull pork was my fave!!

Dang I was really excited to try Noah's BBQ, but it was very underwhelming for my first time. We got brisket and ribs along with mac, creamed corn, and coleslaw. The brisket was borderline cold and somehow dry, but had a nice amount of fat to meat ratio. However, there was no tendernism to be found and memes aside, for a BBQ restaurant to have subpar brisket is a let down. Hopefully this was an one off situation and it isn't always like that, but all three orders of brisket were disappointing. The ribs were moist and tender and packed lots of flavor though so I'd recommend trying them. The sides were decent, but nothing to write home about. I enjoyed the coleslaw the most out of the three sides. Portion size wise I thought it was alright for the price. The service was fine and they offered recommendations and samples for the sides which was greatly appreciated. The seating area itself was where I had some additional issues. The workers started mopping the floor an hour before closing and it made the floor dangerously slippery. There were no wet floor caution signs around the seating area either (only had one towards the back where you exit to the parking lot), which is a safety hazard for those who may have been unaware. We had to carefully exit the restaurant after we ate and when we reached the mall's flooring, there was immediately no issues with traction. I do applaud the fact that the workers try to keep the tables clean between each subsequent group, but rudely enough there were some customers who just left all their trash on the table instead of disposing it themselves. They were unfortunately out of sausage when I got there, but I'd come back to try it and give them a second chance on the brisket. Also the smoked wings and pork belly burnt ends sound good so I hope those don't disappoint either! Hoping to have a solid BBQ spot in the area so I will update when I get a chance to return.

Texas plate for 2. Brisket (lean/fatty), jalapeño cheddar sausage, ribs, Cole slaw, potato salad, Mac & cheese & collard greens.

This place is amazing. Would give it 6 stars if we could. I almost turned around when we got there because it's in a mall and it's bbq. I'm so happy I didn't. I'm a 6th generation Texan who moved here 3 years ago and can't ind consistent BBQ. This is my place now. Eric was amazing and we talked a bunch about the wood and places he's been (well traveled) & knows his bbq. They use the same post oak as some of the best bbq places in TX & it shows. Great brisket lean and fatty. Lean going up against Franklins good. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was some of the best we've had. The sides were amazing too (collards, Mac, slaw & potato salad were good. The potato salad needed some salt but it was good). This place is great authentic bbq and we will be back often. Eric also let us try the pork belly even though it wasn't Saturday. Amazing piece of meat.

From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by Anthony, the owner, and that set the tone right away. Great guy, passionate about his food, and it shows. We took his recommendations and were not disappointed at all. The jalapeño sausage was my favorite, packed with flavor and just the right kick. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender. And the brisket... melt-in-your-mouth, done right. The sides held their own too, mac & cheese and brisket beans were both on point. What stood out even more was that Anthony came back to ask how everything was and genuinely wanted feedback. That kind of care goes a long way. Easily some of the best BBQ we've had in Massachusetts. Amazing atmosphere!! We'll be back... no question.

Brisket paired with Mac and cheese, brisket fried rice. And potato salad. Complimentary pickle spear, pickled onion, and bread.

This South Shore BBQ spot is a hidden gem. I was reading quite a few negative reviews claiming "I'm from Texas" or "I'm a chef," and that Noah doesn't provide quality grub...but let's be real: expecting true Texas BBQ in MA is like expecting bánh mì here to taste like it does in Vietnam. Of course it's not exact -- but this is the closest you'll get, and it's damn good. The brisket and pork belly burnt ends were crispy, juicy, and well-seasoned -- borderline heavy on the salt, which slightly overpowered the BBQ sauce, but still delicious. Sides like mac & cheese, creamed corn, and potato salad were spot-on. I do wish they included jalapeños for a little kick, but the pickle spear, pickled onions, and soft bread were perfect complimentary adds. Service was top-notch. The chef personally checked on us multiple times and even brought out extra meat straight off the smoker because he didn't think the first batch was good enough (we thought it was already excellent). Staff were helpful and went above and beyond to provide great service. Given that they recently opened, they're definitely still ironing out some things (menu availability, consistency), but this place has serious potential. The ventilation for the smokers isn't so great so I'd suggest a good scrub down of the establishment on a regular basis to help with the grease build up and sticky floor feeling. But with that said, the atmosphere is cute and inviting. Support your local gems -- especially when they're serving up flavor like this and trying their best to deliver good food! And honestly, those Negative Nancy's should just not eat out in general if they're expecting a 5 course michelin star meal in a mall for less than the cost of mcdonalds.

Definitely worth the try. The line to order was long, and so was the wait time for the food (which is understandable considering that they are a new restaurant). I can say the food was good, the pulled pork wasn't my favorite. The brisket was good and the ribs were very tender. The mac and cheese was pretty basic but not bad. I loved the fries. I was turned off by the pickles touching the tray on my meal so I didn't bother trying my pickles. I can say it was pretty busy inside Noah's BBQ so plan ahead for the wait

Noah's BBQ has been open less than a day, and I'm pretty sure I'm already their biggest fan. I don't want to sound over the top, but this might just be the best BBQ I've had in Massachusetts. The brisket and pulled pork were spot on - smoky, flavorful, tender, and juicy. The brisket was so good I actually went back later the same day for seconds. Their Noah's house BBQ sauce takes it to another level too, I was getting almost a Carolina gold flavor from it. The sides hold their own as well. The mac and cheese, creamed corn, and potato salad are all worth trying, but the potato salad was my favorite. And don't skip the bread pudding it tasted exactly like strawberry shortcake and was fantastic. I can't wait to see what they do with their specials and the rest of the menu. The South Shore is lucky to have a place this good right in the neighborhood.

Got my two year old licking her fingers clean it's that good!!!
