Noble Romans was a delightful surprise. Me and my wife are from Florida and this is our favorite place so far. The inside is old fashioned in a good way, it's cozy and comfortable inside. We ordered the Sicilian deep dish and breadsticks. The deep dish was crispy and delicious, you can taste the quality of the ingredients. Noble Roman's - Pizza Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

My wife and I ordered a large deep-dish Sicilian pizza from west 10th St. Nobel Romans tonight, with mushrooms and sausage. When placing the order over the phone I told the guy that the last time or two we`d ordered from them, they had gone way overboard on the mushrooms and barely had any sausage, so I asked if he would make sure it was the way it ought to be this time. He said he would ensure it was a good pizza. When I got the pizza home, I was so frustrated. It had 5 lbs. of mushrooms on it, very little sausage, and no cheese at all. It was just dough, pizza sauce, and mushrooms. I called and talked to the manager, and he was the one who had made the pizza. He was insulting, and kept repeating that he made the pizza and that it was fine. Never mind I guess that my wife and I as the customers weren`t satisfied. He insulted me one last time by saying that he would offer to make us another pizza, but he didn`t think he could make a pizza to satisfy us. (How about put cheese on the pizza and a reasonable amount of sausage, and a LOT less mushrooms?). It goes without saying, we will NOT go back there. We would have been better off throwing our $25.50 into the toilet and flushing it. read more

I can still remember going here after a football game in the late 80s and early 90s. A bunch of us would gather up in the farthest booths and order breadsticks and drinks and play music on the jukebox. When i go into this place it is like stepping back into history and i love it. Great breadsticks and great pizza and it is silly but love their ice in the drinks lol. I am so glad it still looks the same. My schools look nothing like they did when i went to them so it is nice to still have that 1 piece of my young left. This is one of my and my husband's favorite pizza destinations. There aren't many freestanding Noble Romans anymore, so this is a treasure. We like to get the Monster pizza, and breadsticks. Their pizza and breadstick dough is absolutely perfect -- exactly the right balance of crisp/tender/chewy. The toppings on the Monster pizza are extremely generous. I've been going to Noble Roman's since I was a kid, and it's only improved with time. The service is great, the food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is warm and homey. This Noble Roman's pizza is a flashback to the 1980's: The window when you first walk in the door to watch the pizza being made, the stained glass lights, the wood booths, the PERSONAL PAN PIZZA! House/dog/TV sitting out in Avon and been driving past the place for the last few days and today was the day: To get some breadsticks, personal pan pizza, and salad bar (yes they have a real salad bar). Was amazed at how crowded it was for lunch time and the deals (pizza, salad, drink / salad, drink / pizza, drink, etc.) are posted on a sign just prior to lining up in the queue. For lunch the parking lot was full and probably only nine open tables. The pictures in the prior reviews on Yelp are so true when it comes to nostalgia - seeing the viewing window for the crew making pizza just brings you back to the 80's. West side staple. Early 70s decor. Dark mood lighting for you and your friends to feel mischievous and young. I spent so much or my youth in this establishment. I used to walk across the street after middle school with friends. Noble Romans is a franchise, and the west side has the BEST one. Hands down. It's great casual dining for large or small groups. You get to seat yourself. There's a salad bar and an older drink machine fountain. Not extensive options when it comes to beverages, but you're really there for the pizza. The crust is thick, the cheese is generous, and the toppings are fresh. Order the breadsticks, too. The cheese sauce has a slight kick of spicy. Also try to go for lunch if it's just you and a friend. You can each get the $7.79 Value Meal with a personal pan, drink, salad bar, breadsticks, and dipping sauce. There are some arcade games, a jukebox, and a window TO WATCH THE PIZZA MAKERS. Kids love standing on the elevated platform to get a behind-the-scenes look at the process. They also offer takeout. Each time you order you get a coupon taped on the box for next time. So the cheesy cycle continues. (And should never stop). read more

Not sure what the fine folks of Indianapolis expect with their pizza but the reviews gave me comfort in ordering take out from this place. Fist issue is there are two totally different Noble Roman's chains in the city. One looks really good and then there is this one. I think many of the people rating this maybe confused with the other company. Pizza was very low quality to the point where the two fo us eating it stopped and ordered from another pizza place. Frozen grocery store pizza would have been way better than this junk. Lady at the register was very noice, but the pizza is horrible. Literally threw away $20. read more

This is the last Noble Romans standing as far as I'm concerned and its worth the drive. Why? -deep dish pizza with tomato sauce dolloped all over the place -sausage that looks like rabbit poop but taste like heaven -bread sticks with yellow jalapeno cheese sauce -surprisingly friendly service -nostalgia factor off the charts -every table has its own paper towel roll and oregano shaker -Unfortunately they updated their O.G jukebox.....but it still plays Johnny Cougar on the reg side note.....I ordered "beer"....not bud light, coors, flat 12, sun king.....I just ordered "a pitcher of description-less beer"...which made me happy. read more

I've been getting pizza from this place since I moved to Indy several years ago. The building / ambiance leave a lot to be desired. It's a typical 1980's pizza parlor with in-restaurant seating (all booths), a salad bar, and a couple arcade game machines from the late 1990's. The place doesn't look like it's been renovated since the 80's, and perhaps hasn't undergone a thorough cleaning since the mid 90's. No windows to the outside, either, so it's a bit on the dark side. On the plus side, there is a window within the restaurant into the kitchen area so you can see the folks make your pizza right there. In all my years as a loyal customer, I never eat in at this Noble Roman's for the reasons above. That being said, the FOOD - particularly the extra large 20-inch pizza - is unbelievably good. As someone on a tight budget, one pizza is enough for the whole party to feast on - with left-overs to spare. I've never met anyone who - after trying it - doesn't love the pizza. A lot of folks turn their noses up at Noble Roman's, thinking its heyday has past. I disagree - and when I bring a pizza home for friends and guests to have (Football parties!) I quickly win them over. If you're looking for a family owned and operated, low-cost, GREAT food pizza place on the west side to call "your pizza place," I recommend Noble Roman's. I've adopted it as my own - and despite the 5 mile drive down 465 each way to pick one of these up - I keep going back for more. Four stars for nostalgia. Truth is I grew up on the west side of indy and this was the hang out after football games etc. Therefore, walking in, after (let's not say how many) years, it all looks the same. Missing are the graffitied walls and the old balloon machine but it's still a step back in time. Walk in with my husband and kids...saw two different people from high school. I guess everyone longs for the good ole days? On to the food. Three stars for food. Gourmet? No. Just fine? Ci. Again, I think it relies on nostalgia. Growing up in Chapel Hill, this was a regular spot for birthday parties and family dinners. Other than some new CDs in the jukebox and the removal of the balloon machine, it hasn't changed a bit since the early 90s - oh wait, since the early 70s, when my mom would come over there from Ben Davis with her friends. Dark wood paneling and low-hanging stained glass lamps will remind you of pizza parlors of your youth. It reminds me of childhood visits to the Pizza Hut that used to be across the street, too, which is now a sushi joint. The breadsticks are great if you like them slightly undercooked - I do. The cheese pizza is intensely cheesy, and that's about the only thing I get there, except calzones occasionally. There's a salad bar, too, and video games and a window to watch the pizzas being made. The 10th street Noble Romans has been a favorite of mine as long as I can remember. Growing up in North Carolina, whenever we would come to Indianapolis to visit family, it was the first place we went. Now that I've lived in Indianapolis for the past 11 years it still remains a favorite. I've watched a number of Noble Romans locations close around the Indianapolis/Avon area, but the 10th Street location has remained strong! Pros: friendly staff, great prices, awesome breadsticks Cons: atmosphere might not be everyone's cup of tea- there aren't any windows, and the lighting is always dim. The carpet is pretty old, so I'm not sure it's even possible for it to look clean anymore. read more

Me, my husband and my 3 sons all came here for dinner. The boys were all excited and in good moods, but also were being respectful of others eating. A blonde waitress (didn't get her name) barely spoke to us, but was very nice and helpful to the lady sitting in the booth next to us. Asked her if she needed a refill , we had to make our own each time, came and checked on her, didnt us. Also told her to have a nice night, didnt say a word as we were leaving..only dirty looks the entire time and whispers to other co workers. It was very childish and disrespectful. I ordered a meduim deep dish cheese pizza, Large hand tossed half & half, family order of breadsticks & cheese. It was the worst pizza I have ever had the cheese was cold in the middle had to bring it home put it in the oven to finish cooking. The price is ridiculous!! 50.00 for 2 pizza's & breadsticks! So happy that my wife and I discovered this location. To quote the Iron Sheik, this place is "the real". This location is basically the last standing original Noble Roman's and deserves four stars for nostalgia if nothing else. To be honest, this review may be a bit biased due to the positive childhood memories I have of their Muncie location. From the moment you step inside, it's like going back in time to the early 1990's. You are greeted at the entrance by the iconic (or at least what might be considered midwest pizza chain iconic?) viewing window for children to watch their pizza be made and a handful of video games. They also have standard definition tube televisions and a juke with a decent selection of albums that probably stops somewhere at the beginning of the 21st century. The decor is "vintage Noble Roman's" AKA 1970's wood paneling wall-to-wall and wooden booths/tables with matching wood stain and Noble Roman's stained glass chandeliers. Not only is this an original Noble Romans location, they have the original menu. That means you can still order deep dish sicilian pies and the signature Noble Roman's MONSTER pizza. This is NOT the convenience store Noble Roman's you have become accustom to, no take-n-bake or pushing Tuscano's subs on you here. Pepsi products and an average beer selection are available. I love everything about this place, so it's hard for me not to give it five stars. But for the uninitiated, this place may be a bit too run down. But for me a cloud of nostalgia makes the condition of the restaurant and lack of updating forgivable. If you remember when Noble Romans ruled your town in the 1980's to early 1990's, then this location is worth a trip to the Chapel Hill area of Southern Indianapolis. read more

Deep dish Sicilian is great! The breadsticks are the best!

A lot of the reviews for this location note the nostalgia factor here, and for good reason. I can imagine several birthdays here with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cakes that mom picked up from the Joe O'Malia's across the street. What a blast from the past. This used to be the lunch location for me and my parents 30 years ago when my orthodontist office was behind it. The offices have been torn down for other businesses but Noble Roman's keeps going. The pizza is still fantastic, the breadsticks still taste the same from childhood, and they still have the little stairs/observation window that draws kids in to watch them make the pizza. As many of the reviews have already stated, growing up with this place has been terrific. A few years ago, I moved to Florida and every time I come back to Indianapolis, my first stop from the airport is here. No kidding. As a BD high school alum, I came here every Friday night after our home games and had the pizza. Now that I am a bit older, I graduated BD in 1981, :). , I am forced to eat the salad bar more often than the pizza. To me, the salad bar is the best in town. I often load it up with the peperonies and cheese and of course a half order of breadsticks... The owners and the long term employees here have treated me like family and that is not something you find anywhere else. Yes, Noble Roman's is a chain pizza restaurant but this location has been around so long that it doesn't feel like a chain anymore and has taken on a character of it's own. With the large circular oven where a person decides when the pizza is done and the window into the kitchen were you can watch them make the pizza's (there is even a step-up platform so kids can watch) this location has a very homey feel. You can get all the normal pizza choices including thin, hand-tossed or deep dish crust but save room for the bread sticks. I like the cheese dip but there is also marinara or garlic butter for dipping. For lunch you can get a personal pan with bread sticks or side salad (there is a limited salad bar) pretty cheap and fast as the most popular personal pan toppings are already made. read more
