It has been 3 years since my initial review for this place and after eating here again with my son, I decided it's time to update it. This is still a 5 star establishment with delicious food and great service! I have ordered from here several times in the last 3 years but an update was long overdue. I ate the Lord Combination Plate that comes with Chicken Thigh Shish Kabob and Beef Shish Kabob, along with rice, salad, hummus and pita bread. I opted for the roasted tomatoes at an extra cost as well. My son had the Mix Luleh Combo Plate that also comes with one skewer each of beef and chicken along with the same sides. Absolutely delicious, FRESH, great quality meats and ingredients! Good portions at a good price as well. The restaurant is clean and there is a cute indoor patio if you decide to dine-in, however this place is right next to a car wash and can get loud with the constant sounds of the cars drying as they exit the wash. Keep that in mind if you decide to eat here, or you can pick up to-go like many others do. Highly recommend trying this local business the next time you need your kabob fix.
The cashier was very nice and explained the menu very well. The food was delicious and great quality. I got the soltani kebab. The parking lot is not comfortable and the noise of carwash by the side is very loud.
NoHo Cafe is a quaint little diner. They offer counter service and it seems they largely serve to go. While they have some seating inside, the proximity to the car wash and the fact that their indoor seating had large gaps for air flow in the roof means that the quite loud car wash is ever present. I tried the Lamb Kebob combo and found it delicious. The lamb was well seasoned and cooked and the rice and bread were great. I'm still giving this location a 4 because as a take out place this place is great. However if I were rating it based on sitting down to eat, it would definitely be a 2 or 3. The sound of the car wash is just too loud to allow for an enjoyable eating experience. Good food, loved the staff, the noise of the car wash is a bit irratating.
First off the food was great. I don't really have any complaints. The Lamb was seasoned well, but their salad was just alright. I substituted the rice for the fries, and got tzatziki instead of hummus. However, one of the reasons why I am giving this spot a 3 star is because of the setting. It is placed right next to a car wash, so it is very loud and I would only see myself taking the food to go. In addition, I came with a sports team, so there was quite a few of us. We had everything all on one bill, and the lady who took my order didn't ask if I wanted the tomato and pepper. Later, we realized she charged us extra for that side. Some people from my party do remember her asking if they wanted the tomato/pepper, but she never specified it would cost extra, and they assumed it was part of the meal. At the end of the day, I was one of the many who weren't given a choice. If she had asked me from the start, I would've denied the extras anyways, even if it was free or came with the meal. I don't think I should have to pay for something I didn't order myself. I think if you are going to offer specific items to customers, you need to make sure you are specific about the charges/extra costs.
Craving some Mediterranean food and decided to check this spot out. I ordered two noho plates, they bring a beef luleh, one steak skewer and a chicken skewer. It came with hummus, rice, salad, and roasted tomato/ jalapeño. The meats were very flavorful but out of the three the beef luleh was superior. The rice complemented the plate nicely. The hummus was an excellent addition and I enjoyed every bit of it. Next time I will probably just get a luleh plate! If you pay in cash you do get a free soda. A few notes on what made me drop a star, 1. No itemized receipt, paid $58 for two plates of food and saw her add a $3 charge as well as a $5 charge 2. The roasted pepper wasn't fully cooked & the salad dressing was thousand islands. 3. There's parking but it is right next to the car wash which can make it difficult during certain times of the day
The restaurant is located directly next to the Car Wash. It's a little bit drafty and you order from the counter. Very large menu multiple items. Excellent selection. I ordered a Shawarma, which had good seasoning. It was way too salty. The salad had a slight chemical taste to it, but the dressing was good And the french fries were crisp. Service was five star, but the salting of the food dropped it down. Since the car wash was open and noise level was very high location was clean, however but I doubt I will be back because of the noise level.

Watch soapy water trickle toward your dining area? I bet you do! Well, look no further my friend because Noho Café is at your service and ready to give you that dine and car wash experience! Gives a whole new meaning to drive-thru! Okay, I'm obviously being facetious and bringing a bit of comedy to Yelp but it is no joke that Noho Café, a local, family-owned Middle Eastern eatery, does in fact reside practically on the lap of a car wash at the corner of Laurel Canyon/Oxnard. This is most definitely an 'interesting' choice to hold real estate so unless you are really into watching people clean cars; it is best to purchase takeout. My date and I were searching for a quick bite in the area and he insisted the food was delicious (and also claims Yelp); so we did indeed dine-in the small, almost food-stand like restaurant. And let me tell you: it is loud and unusual! Not really the best ambiance, to say the least. Despite this absence of atmosphere, I was curious to see if the food is as amazing as touted. Noho Café's menu consists of the usual fare: kabobs, schwarma, hummus, rice, gyro, salads, yada yada and so forth. My date and I were going to eat family-style and order two plates amd share it half-half and went with the Lamb Kabob plate (comes with rice, tatziki or hummus, side salad, pita- $17.99) which we substituted Cherry Rice - or so we thought: it was actually $5.99 extra and the Chicken Luleh Kabob Plate ($13.99). We also each ordered a canned soft drink that broke the wallet at almost $4 per can! YIKES! Our food arrived rather quickly (in takeout styrofoam containers) and we were starving to dig in. Unfortunately, I'm going to the outlier here because I have NO idea what all the raving reviews regarding the food are about. Did I eat at the wrong place?! The lamb kabob was decent and large chunks of meat but nothing to write home about. The salad was very poorly dressed with a tiny amount of red wine vinaigrette pooled under the greens and the hummus was some of the blandest hummus I've ever had: it was in dire need of both salt and acid. Even grocery store bought hummus in a container is better! The Chicken Luleh was also mediocre: not horrible but not exceptional with the same poor salad situation and tatziki that is just as monotone as the hummus with no flavor or salt and was almost like eating straight Greek yogurt. The star of the show was the Cherry Rice - which although cost extra -was quite delicious with re-hydrated dried cherries in saffron rice. Overall though, this food was NOT it and not at all worth the $50 dollar check. There is way better Middle Eastern food available nearby for less cost. I do have to note that the customer service at Noho Café is exceptional even though the food is not. Eating at Noho Café is like eating at a Middle Eastern grandma's house. The women behind the counter/serving are SO kind and friendly and were very concerned with our view of the food and even offered a freebie sample of the crispy rice. Even though I was very uncomfortable with the car wash situation and not pleased with the food; these ladies are definitely pure puddles of love and are an absolute joy. There isn't much more to be said about Noho Café as it is simply a weird location and the food is subpar and overpriced for what it is making the positive Yelp reviews questionable. It is the lovely customer service that boosted my opinion from two to three stars. Noho Café isn't terrible but there are wayyyy better Middle Eastern choices in the immediate vicinity so unless you're about that car wash; this place can be skipped. Next!
I've driven past this cafe so many times and didn't even realize that there was a hidden gem there! Came in for lunch and was greeted by a sweet woman who took my order. It's definitely a mom and pops joint so you'll feel right at home immediately. I ordered the chicken shawarma with salad and the chicken didn't disappoint! It was tender and flavorful, just what I needed to satisfy my appetite. I do have to say that it's a small spot so there is no restrooms available for customers but if you're getting your car washed, you can use the one there and walk over.
The Lentils soup was delicious! And the $6 lunch bowls we ordered were scrumptious, especially for the price. A bit of a language barrier which came across aggressive but the food made up for it!
Just came in there and ordered a chicken kabob and beef kabob combo, and a side of falafel.. She charged us $30, and asked if we wanted a roasted tomato and pepper for additional $2 and I said no because I've never heard of this ever and usually when u order a combo or plate it comes with it... Well that wasn't the worst part... what's worst is the food is not cooked all the way especially the chicken! I'm so disappointed but I'm glad I didn't order 2 plates like I intended on doing at first.. Me and my mom shared the plate but we can't eat it cus the chicken is raw still. Also the falafel is brown on the inside.... I'm half Egyptian so I know falafel is usually green in color. I'm not sure why it's brown inside. The rice has no flavor at all! Big time disappointed! First time ordering from here and it was solid middle eastern food. My order was delivered in a timely manner with napkins and utensils . Only negative : stingy on the pita bread, only one piece. For a $ 22 entree there should be 2.
Really enjoyed the food here! It's more of a place you'd take out from rather than dine in, especially cause it's located right adjacent to a car wash. It would also be great for catering for Mediterranean food. They serve mostly kebabs with all the typical fix ins - rice, pita bread, hummus, tzatziki. I got 1 chicken kebab and 1 steak kebob with rice, hummus, pita, and tzatziki. The chicken was juicy and so was the steak. Flavor was on point for both and the char marks from the grill were delicious. I really enjoyed the hummus and pita, they tasted classic. The tzatziki unfortunately didn't taste so great or flavorful but luckily I had some of my own at home. The store manager was friendly and the food came out quick. I do think they have some limited seating but again, more of a grab and go kindve spot.

I came here with my girlfriend this week and we had such a nice dinner here. Parking was small but we didn't have any issue finding parking. It was located next to a car wash. We were given a complimentary lentil soup which was good and a nice touch. I ordered the chicken kabob and koobideh and my friend ordered the beef and chicken. They have really generous portions and you can choose your sides. The chicken was really juicy and I don't mind paying extra for the grilled veggies cuz with kabobs you have to have them onions and bellpeppers. Sooo good!!! The falafel was probably the best falafel I have ever had. It was crisp to perfection and absolutely delicious. I even had some left over and took some to my Mom and she was ranting and raving at how good it was. I have to agree. Overall this spot was really good and I would come back. The ambience could use some more asthetics and dining in I would have preferred plates rather than styrofoam to go containers. The service was absolutely wonderful and the Mom/Pop shop was very nice. Wow! Five stars is hard to achieve on Yelp these days with the many restaurants available to us in the great city of Los Angeles. This place is deserving of every single star! The spicy chicken breast is one of the most delicious things I have had in a very long time. Hummus was fantastic, and the salad dressing. I would've never stopped here if it weren't for the good Yelp reviews and coincidentally being in North Hollywood. We usually get our middle eastern food from Raffi's in Glendale. This place doesn't look like much from the outside but the women working there were so sweet and the food is bomb. And she gave us free drinks for paying cash! If you're looking for some home made Persian Armenian eats, but don't want to pay extra for ambiance, look no further. This little hole in the wall is worth checking out. Service was great and fast too! Although it's fast casual, we weren't charged until after we finished eating. read more

Gem in the rough located in a funky corner hard to park car wash next door location. I was in the area and saw all the 5 star reviews so we had to try it out. My wife and I shared a steak and chicken breast combo ( I forgot the name). It was pricey at $17 but it fed both of us and we still took the leftovers home. Incredible flavor, moist chicken, tender beef. The humus was fantastic and the service was great. Very personal and attentive. read more

Ordered take out from NOHO cafe, it was hot and ready in 10 minutes and pick up was super easy! The two ladies that helped me pick up my order were lovely, it felt welcoming to be there. The portion sizes were great, the food was even better. The beef was well seasoned and I loved the tzatziki sauce. I drive by this place nearly every day and usually don't notice this place, saw iron Yelp and decided give it a try. Parking is shared with the car wash place and the Auto Repair places so parking may be a bit challenging during lunchtime The lady who took my order was nice and friendly, I told her it was my first time there and wanted to try a sampling of their food so I ordered the Noho Special Combo Plate ($19.99) and asked for extra rice instead of the Salad, she asked if I wanted jalapeño and tomato with that, I thought it came with the plate, since she didn't mention it would cost me $1.00 more, I found out when I saw the receipt. This place is run skittle differently from what Ian used to. You place your order with the cashier and if you are eating in, you are then given a tiny bowl of Lentil soup to consume while you wait for your food to be cooked fresh, it took about 10 minutes to prepare, then sit down and wait for your food, you can pick your choice of drinks from the refrigerator (no price listed). You food is delivered to your table and you eat and drink after which you go to the cashier to pay your bill. Delish food for days!!! I was on my way to visit my parents and took a detour to grab some lunch for my family and after going some major Yelp research decided that for the authenticity, price, and portion NoHo was the right choice. The location is right on the corner of a busy intersection and in front of a huge car wash, which made the inside of the tiny place really loud even with the doors closed. The eating area is there but it definitely needs a lot of TLC; I totally recommend grabbing your order to go. The woman who took my order was really polite and got my order 100% correct. There is a service fee if you are using your card, so be mindful of that little add on your bill. The food was no frills authentic Persian chelo kabob. The salad seems like an afterthought (appears to be a salad mix from a bag- which is a shame since shirazi is the standard). The cherry rice (which also had barberries so technically albaloo and zereshk mixed together). The falafel had a really nice earthy flavor and unlike some other falafel recipes from the Mediterranean region it did not have parsley. A couple things that could have made this a home run: change the tzatziki sauce - it was an unpleasant sour tang to it, swap out the bagged salad for something else, ditch the jalapeños (bell pepper is more traditional) out grilled veggies in the the meat combos. I would definitely go back despite these little things, because it was really solid grub. read more

I think I was overcharged. Food was good, but now I think it's overpriced. I didn't think of it at first, until I was in my car. I didn't get a break down of the receipt, but it seems like the lady charged me GrubHub amounts, but I ate at the restaurant, albeit I also got some Togo orders, but charged all together; but still takeout and grubhub amounts shouldn't be the same if I didn't order through grubhub ...Should it? Prices are based off of the menu at the restaurant (others have taken pictures of it and I didn't take any but I do remember how much each costs) I ordered the Lord and added French fries (17.99+4.99), got the small tzatziki ($4.99) but I think she gave me a large? Because it was the same size as the side hummus in my meal. So I'm assuming the one I got was a large...2 bottled waters (?? - no idea) Togo order. Mixed Luleh ($11.99) + tomato and pepper ( $1.00) Steak beef (13.99) + tomato and pepper ($1.00) - #6 on the menu.. If I total all that up, I get $60.98 with tax. Guessing if I knew what the water was an additional $3? Also, was there a sharing fee that I didn't see??? Because not really sure on how I got to the amount she charged until I put my order into grubhub (pic attached) The only reason why I'm questioning this is because The lady told me, my meal was $68.93 but my receipt showed $71 - I thought it was just credit card fee or for the waters since I didn't pay with cash. But thinking about.. this dinner shouldn't have costed me that much esp if the tzatziki was small. Who charges $5.99? For a 4oz! I also gave a tip cuz lady was nice and I ate at the restaurant. She also said to write a review since I told her we saw the great reviews on Yelp. Hence that's why I'm writing. I'm not griping about $20 (cuz I gave her a decent amount of tip) but I just want to make sure that this establishment shows the correct amounts on their menu board or at least update if haven't. I know with covid is tough with mom and pop shops, but I just don't like to think I'm being ripped off. read more

4 stars for the friendliness of the owner but the location is super weird next to a car wash so bring your earplugs! The chicken is juicy but needs salt. I'm not overly impressed and probably wouldn't come back. I'll attach more pix later. If you don't mind a noisy car wash next-door and you like Middle Eastern food, then definitely come here and check it out. read more

I've been wanting to try this place ever since I heard about it and boy it did not disappoint! Once we entered the lady took our order and gave us complimentary lentil soup which was delicious!!! My 1 1/2yr old picky daughter loved it so you know it's good!! She had us go take a seat and told me not to worry about paying till after. I ordered the Lords Plate (filet mignon and chicken thigh kabob) omg! The beef was melt in your mouth soft!! Super delicious!!! And the chicken was just as good! My husband had just the filet mignon plate and loved it as well! We also ordered a side of chicken koobideh for my daughter which was $3.50 extra but I didn't really like it as much as other places where we have had the chicken koobideh due to the taste being a bit different. Other than that the food and service was excellent! I can't wait to go back and try more items! read more

A friendly neighborhood spot with nice ladies behind the counter cooking the Mediterranean fare fresh to order. Saw a couple of ants (maybe?) crawling down the menu posted on the wall. But the front door was open. And they weren't roaches, so, meh. When I checked in, there was a Yelp offer for a free drink: but you had to pay cash for your order. An offer with a condition isn't much of an offer now is it? lol...Besides, aren't we encouraged to refrain from touching cash during this pandemic? Meh. The food is good though. read more

Great question! The only gluten on our plates would be the Pita Bread, which is optional. For Vegan options we have the Veggie Delight #23 and Veggie Garden #24.
