Food: I was impressed with the home fries. They were real potatoes diced up instead of the pre-made, slightly breaded potato cubes served for breakfast some many other places. They weren't salty (maybe not even salted at all) which was nice. The gravy was tasty on my chicken fried chicken. The only thing was my eggs. I'm in a search for the ever elusive over medium eggs. I had higher hopes for a diner. I received over easy. Service: Great service. I was immediately greeted and everyone was very nice. My coffee cup was never close to empty. Ambiance: it's a diner with all sorts of signs all over the place. There were goofy signs, and there were the types that might be offensive depending on your thought process. Notables: the Christmas decorations were well done and abundant! Very festive. We went in December. Lots of options on the menu and BREAKFAST IS SERVED ALL DAY. Cleanliness: lots of snow outside and somehow there weren't any wet spaces inside. Even though they were packed when I arrived, they cleared off a table promptly and then dried it so there wasn't that wet residue on the table when we sat down. After nearly 15 years in Alaska, this is the best you're going to find in the Anchorage, Eagle River, Mat-Su Valley area if you want traditional diner fare and a nice place to eat. Nothing I've ever had disappointed. My last two times I had chicken fried steak with cream gravy and French fries with green beans and last time I had biscuits and gravy with two eggs over medium that were just right. And for the desserts? Wonderful selection of scratch pies obviously made by a professional baker. The food here is all traditional American breakfast, lunch, and dinner comfort food. My husband and I wanted to try something new and break away from the usual. It took us a good 30 minutes to get here and the great reviews had me ready to try this place out! My experience started off as a 4, almost 5 stars. Their Christmas decor was still up so the place looked amazing. I was mesmerized by the beautiful decor and how cozy it felt inside. They had this awesome Christmas town on display behind glass and I couldn't help but stand there and admire this display. This is a very family-friendly establishment and their atmosphere is very homey and cozy. It was wonderful. I really liked the feel of this place! We were seated immediately and handed some me us. Our waitress wasn't the most chipper but whatever, we placed our orders. When our food came, my experience quickly dwindled to 3 stars. I ordered the prawns dinner with fries and a side of chili (chili had an upcharge). When it comes to dining out I care alot about the details of my meal. At about $22 this place was nothing spectacular. What really bothered me was that the prawns and fries were just blatantly sitting on the plate and no kind of sauce what so ever for those naked prawns (see picture). My upcharged chili didn't even have crackers or anything with it just the chili. I ended up asking the waitress for sauce to which she mentioned that they had several and I could only think well why serve these yummy, crunchy prawns without any of those sauces? That's an epic fail in my opinion. I finally got crackers for the chili and cocktail sauce for me shrimp but by then I had been waiting a bit and just annoyed. Despite this hiccup, the prawns were deliciously crunchy and that was the highlight of my meal. Overall I think I can get similar if not better food elsewhere. $22 is too steep for this kind of presentation. Their ambiance is what made this place a great experience for me. read more

Classic diner fare in Palmer. I usually go here for an early breakfast after Northern Lights hunting up in Hatcher Pass or before ice climbing an hour east in Caribou Creek. It's really the only place open early for breakfast in this area. All the standards: bacon & eggs, hash browns, toast, pie, etc are represented. The waitresses are all friendly and make you feel at home. Never been for lunch and dinner so I can't comment on how they compare. read more

It's a good place to stop off at when you're traveling through. It always seems to be hopping. We stopped off for breakfast. Personally the hot and spicy burrito wasn't spicy and it wasn't memorable but it was filling and decent in flavor and freshness in ingredients. I appreciated the salsa served with it. Hashbrowns were pretty standard. The kitchen sink skillet was definitely a hefty portion but with partly melted cheese. That's always a peeve for me. I wouldn't be opposed to eating here again and trying something different, but it's not a place that you'd necessarily go out of your way to eat at. One thing I did absolutely love though was the decor - the plethora of signage with wisecracks and whatnots. It keeps you entertained for sure while waiting for your food. read more

I'm a born and raised Palmeranian, Noisy Goose has always been my favorite go-to restaurant my entire time living here. They have the best eggs Benedict in the valley and all the food never disappoints. The pies are amazing too! Not to mention they always have the best service, even when you can tell that your server is at the very end of their shift. The atmosphere is perfect for the restaurant, full of taxidermy ducks and funny quotes all over the walls. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, especially someone visiting for the first time! It's a must-go-to every time family visits. read more

This place had a little bit of a wait time. We conversed with the others in the waiting area which seemed a little small on a Sunday morning. However there was also a group of 8 or more in there with us. The waitress was kind and attentive. The coffee was good. My country eggs benedict was everything I didn't know I was searching for. It came out hot, the eggs perfectly poached, the gravy homemade with perfect sausage to gravy ratio. I didn't read the full description before ordering and was pleasantly surprised to find sausage patties nestled beneath my cloud like eggs. The hash browns were perfectly cooked, no extra oil added. And the biscuit soft with a slight crumble. A perfect breakfast requires constant attention and it wasn't lost on a single item. Fairly unimpressive food today - my wife's favorite lunch is the crispy chicken wrap however today it was very over cooked so the chicken was hard / dark and dry. she only was able to eat 1/3 of it. Heard about the Noisy Goose a few times and was in the neighborhood so we decided to stop in for dinner. When we arrived we were greeted quickly and our names added to the list. Within 10-15 we were seated. The place we pretty packed so we waited a while to be served with drinks and orders taken. Not a huge deal but they should have had more servers to take care of the guests. The menu has a nice mix of comfort foods so we settled on chicken fried steak and fish and chips. The steak was a bit gristly and over-battered. The gravy was not bad but the potatoes dry. You could tell they had been there a while. She had the fish and chips (halibut because they were out of cod). The batter was well seasoned and tasty but the halibut was overcooked and dry. I can't help but think the food may have been better if the places wasn't slammed. If the front was struggling the back definitely was too. We will come back and give it another try sometime, I'll update when we do. Meanwhile 3 stars is what we got. read more

I enjoyed a good meal tonight I ordered the Philly Dip with no cheese with fries on the side. The meal came nice and hot my husband ordered the Teriyaki burger with the Taco soup on the side and he was happy with his meal too.We decided to eat outside which was so relaxing. The three dinners we had at our table were great! I had eggs Benedict, my old standby from 20 years ago when I frequented the eatery when I was a local. My dining companions were happy with their meals as well. Good turnover of the tables and the servers and bus staff cleaned up quickly on a busy Thursday night. Only issue was the noise. The hospitality reminds me of home, the south! The entire menu is delicious. The ladies are working their butts off, and so sweet! It is a small place with quality food! This place is right opposite the Alaska fair grounds. It's got a lot of funny saying hung on the walls all around. Tried the chicken friend chicken burger with coleslaw and my wife tried the BLT with the soup of the day as a side which happened to be beef noodle soup. Of course they have unlimited coffee. I would give a 3/5 for the food - not too bad not great either. Service is really good and they take good care of you. All the dishes are reasonably priced and you can order from the breakfast menu no matter what time you go in. read more
