My wife and I ordered the po'boys and I will say there is no place I had been that has done it better. I got the spicy which is their normal. My wife the yankee and our daughter the gumbo. Although I rate 3/5, I am in no means saying it is bad. Let me explain. We waited around 15-20 minutes for our food, and there is plenty of seating. We ordered: Fried Okra, Cold Big Easy, and Da Yat. For the fried okra, it was a bit salty but a good snack to bite on. Cold Big Easy tasted like a 'ol regular sub of Roast Beef and Ham. It tasted exactly as described, just nothing crazy. Da Yat was good for my first half of the sub, but it started to feel very heavy at the end. Lastly, spice. As someone who loves spice , but has lower than average tolerance, it wasn't super spicy. Yes, there is spice and it can build up each bite (especially with the fried Okra), but it will not make you feel like your tongue is on fire. Spice enthusiasts may want to request the more spice. I give it a 3/5 because it was good and does the job of a Po Boy, but it was not out of the world. I am content coming here as one and done. I still recommend this place to tourists in the area wanting to try a Po Boy. Shrimp po'boy after a night of drinking is top tier! They have a warning that their fried po'boys are spicy. For me, I fw that shrimp breading and they used some spices to amp up the flavor. I had come to love shrimp poboys during my visit to New Orleans. So it's only fitting that our last meal here was at NOLA Poboys. Once I was able to adjust my eyes to the fun and bright menu board, I landed on a shrimp poboy (surprise) and deep fried boudin balls. We grabbed a seat at one of the booths and waited for our order. The boudin balls were fresh and hot, but so good. It was my first time having them deep fried, but you really can't go wrong with that. The shrimp poboy was incredible, as expected. Who knew that something so simple as to some deep fried shrimp and simple veggies on a baguette could be so so good? Great service, good food and huge portions! We stopped in to get food to go and we were greeted by the lovely lady working the counter. We ordered the half size Muffuletta, an order of Boudin balls, an order of fried okra, and an Oyster Po boy. Everything was fresh and delicious! The Oyster Po boy was nicely spiced and I devoured my half and was eyeing my partners half but alas I held back as he too should enjoy his half. lol The Muffuletta is gigantic and delicious! We shared half of that and I'm super excited we have left overs to enjoy today. The okra was nicely breaded and seasoned and the boudin balls were still hot and delicious. The food itself was okay--fried, a bit heavy, and overall underwhelming but fine. The person taking our order was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the bigger issue came at the end of our meal when we noticed baby roaches near the bathroom and the fridge area after we finished our dinner, both of which are directly connected to one of the dining spaces. Because of this, we chose not to keep our leftovers due to sanitary concerns :( Upon looking online, the most recent health inspections appear to have been fine, so this may be a newer issue--but seeing baby roaches generally suggests an active infestation. The food came out fresh and hot. It was spicy and so so good. My poboy could've used a little more lettuce and mayo because it was a little dry but the flavor was still perfect. For it to have been after 1am, I was extremely impressed with the freshness of the food and the service. The staff was patient and kind, as if it wasn't even 1am. The space is super clean. Came across this spot while looking for food in the French Quarter. With so many spots offering similar options, this place had an expansive menu and some creative choices. It was a bit crammed inside but there was more seating than I expected. The artwork was also nice and staff were friendly. I got the shrimp po'boy covered in bisque and the portion was good, it was very tasty, and I was glad to try something new. I will say though, the bisque gets the bread soggy really fast, so you have to eat it right away. If anything, I wish I couldve poured it on myself or dipped it instead to prevent that. read more

NOLA Poboys saved us from being hungry after finishing up our time at the Essence Festival concert. I loved the taste of the oysters on my poboy and kept seeing other people recommend the shrimp. There were plenty of booths available, including overflow area in the back. The inside of the place gave that hole in the wall feel, so I knew the food was about to be good! The cashier was friendly and helped me find a sandwich selection that allowed me to try both of my considered options in one sub! I don't care for too much spice, so I ordered the yankee/mild 12 inch shrimp and oyster po boy. It took about between 10 and 15 minutes for our food to come to the table. The bread was so soft and fresh and so were the lettuce and tomatoes. I loved the sauce on the bread. I felt like the oysters were the star of the sandwich, and I LOVED the flavor. Not spicy, well seasoned and no dirty after taste. If I came back, I'd order the oyster sub (no shrimp). I did not like the part of the shrimp that was not deveined because it had a slight after taste, but the breading and seasoning was good overall on it. The french fries were also good. The only thing missing was some mustard. I hit the sandwich with a little Crystal & Louisiana hot sauce. So to be fair, while a shrimp po'boy sandwich is a perfectly tasty sandwich, I have never really understood what the big deal was. Anyway, on a recent and first trip for me to NOLA, my partner really wanted to get one of "NOLA PoBoys'" PoBoy sandwiches as he had tried them before and really liked it. It's definitely popular with locals and tourists a like, we got there and waited about 20 minutes before we made it to the counter to order, and the line only grew behind us. Why it's popular - I am not quite sure. The sandwiches were fine, but the gentleman at the counter was not especially friendly despite the fact that I tipped (and I don't think most of the other patrons were), and I found (and my partner also lamented the same) that the seasoning was really just too salty. That's not the worse part though - the place is not clean. We opened the Styrofoam container with my partner's "surfer and turf" and a little gnat or fruit fly came out of it, and while we were sitting there eating, one of the staff was cleaning and noticed a big cockroach on the floor and started spraying it with cleanser - nothing in the place seemed clean, and I definitely would not go back. I suppose it's worth a try for the novelty, but beware that I had concerns about the overall hygiene of the place - and I have eaten all over the world.... read more

You never wanna be THAT person who doesn't follow directions and orders wrong. Some establishments will make you go to the back of the line if you get it wrong.
