The food was delicious, and everything was full of flavor. The server was nice. The atmosphere was inviting with a great vibe, making it an enjoyable place to relax and eat. The Oyster Rockefeller was definitely the highlight of my meal. I absolutely loved it! I'll definitely be back. It's always great reconnecting with good people. My Disney brother came to visit New Orleans from New York, and we finally had the chance to catch up. It's hard to believe we hadn't seen each other since our Disney College Program internship. Baabbby... I'm from NOLA, born and raised, so I know what our seafood is supposed to taste like. Snappers looked promising, but whew... the flavors just didn't show up. Gumbo: It looked like gumbo, it smelled like gumbo, it even had the bay leaves floating like they meant business, but the taste was more like a stew trying to cosplay as gumbo. No depth, no richness, no NOLA soul. Chargrilled Oysters: This one hurt my spirit. I've been eating chargrilled oysters all my life, and I consider myself a true connoisseur. These were topped with so much cheese that all you tasted was cheese. No char, no flame, no smoky flavor... just cheese on a shell. Very disappointing. Seafood Platter: My husband ordered the platter with two sides. They put the salad AND the onion rings on the same plate as the seafood. Who does that? And you could taste that the frying oil had been working overtime, everything had that "same oil all day" flavor. Blackened Gator: Just okay. Kinda dry. Nothing special. The restroom: They were clean, but baabby, they definitely needed some air freshener. There was a smell lingering in the hallway. The walls leading up to the restroom looked like they hadn't been wiped down in a while, and the light switch, LAWD, downright nasty. ‍ The service: Just so-so. He seemed rushed and not very personable. The restaurant wasn't that busy, but ok! He checked on us a couple of times and then started clearing the table while we were sitting there. He said they were closing in 15 minutes but that wasn't true People were still walking in and being seated when we were headed out. Overall, we tried it... but we probably won't be back. From the outside the restaurant seems pretty basic but it delivers in the flavor department. I had the seasoned fish, green beans and potato salad. The green beans were delicious cooked just right. Listen, eat at your own risk . The restaurant has roaches. I was halfway through my food, and there was a big roach crawling on the wall. The owner stated that the exterminator just came out today. The waiter stated that they have an infestation of roaches and they will be closing in a couple of weeks for renovation to address the issue so please eat at your own risk. Oh, and baby, they still charge me after a long day of travel to come to this place I was disgusted. then the owner comes outside and argues with me about him having roaches saying that he's still in business. I think that was very unprofessional and he's boasting saying he's still in business but they're literally selling food and roaches are calling everywhere. read more

We had the redfish and the snapper, and both were cooked well and very enjoyable. The style is Mediterranean-inspired, which I understand is why this place is so popular. I love this place. The staff was friendly. They gave suggestions about New Orleans. They were very, very cool. I just can't rave enough about this place. I also fell in love with their snapper. Whoever is in the kitchen, you know what you are doing because it was so delicious. We were in a rush, needed a little nosh, decided this location because it had decent reviews. I don't know if they are just in a rut but my goodness- it was bad. The worst experience of our whole NOLA trip. We ordered fish balls and calamari to start- and decided nothing more after we saw the appetizers come out. The fish balls are decent. But the calamari was rubbery. Ick. And it was supposed to come with a remoulade sauce - but had cocktail sauce instead. When we asked for the remoulade- our server acted put out to get it. The service was slow. (And no- it wasn't crowded- in fact there were only two other parties.) Food was below average. And when we paid in cash - our change was inconsistent (as a matter of fact- it was incorrect) with giving a tips. Maybe she knew it was terrible and her tip would be very low? I ordered the steak even though this is a seafood restaurant and my friend ordered the red snappers and raw oysters. I actually decided to go here based off of previous reviews and pictures that I seen. I typically would not eat a restaurant on Canal Street just because it seems like a tourist trap. This place was outstanding, Neis atmosphere, friendly staff in the food was excellent. I had the shrimp salad and it did not disappoint... Salad was fresh and loaded with a dozen shrimp...
